Love the look. Reminds me of VVVVVV and I mean that as a big compliment :)

awesome game, so glad ran into it.
theme approach is solid, graphics are completely related with the theme and awesome. Congratulations and I hope this game exceeds the jam!
Great game hereeee!! loved the graphics, mechanics and sfx. good work! 😄
I really like the premise of the game, and the strong references to other games (Zelda, Rogue, Survivors). The background ascii effects are beautiful, I really want to learn to make these. And dialogues were hilarious! :D
I gave it several tries, but when entering combat arenas, they were either very tedious (many enemies, slow attack rate), or downright impossible (I hit the boss for several minutes with the sword and nothing happens). That's too bad because I think there is more content in this game that I don't want to miss.
If you plan to fix this, I'll be happy to give it another go.
If not, that's OK too. What you did was great for a jam either way:)
@brusi Thanks for the feedback, and yeah I made the mini-bosses far too tanky :^)
Also, mfw the debug menu I gated to debug builds wasn't in the release build. F1 menu is now in the browser version, so if you want to explore the game, press F1 :)
Keeping the windows download the same, so no debug menu there 😄
It's a very unique game, honestly it's something completely new to me. It feels like finding an old-school game for Nintendo handhelds. It's so addictive, I decided to take a break for now because I didn't even notice I'd been playing for an hour straight without looking away. Personally, this is a top-tier game for me. I'm definitely going to finish it
@broken-joysticks Thank you very much for the kind words! Very happy to hear you enjoyed it 😄
quite addicting, well done!
Ha, this was great. Really love the humor and references.
I really appreciate the meta concept of recovering old-tech games; it's such a clever idea. The way you blended that old-school retro vibe with the high-energy humor and swearing was a perfect touch. Awesome jam entry!
Nice game! The graphics are on spot:)
Exceptionally well done! The style was well-executed and also very theme-appropriate. The humor was very much up my own alley, and the feel of everything was great. Audio was minimal but worked very well, and complemented the visuals. The art was an excellent blend of old-school visuals and conventions but with the polish and flair that modern systems enable.
Wonderful entry all around - you should be proud!
Oh wow the shaders in this are amazing, very impressive stuff. Really enjoyed playing this and I'm glad the F1 menu stayed in hehe but great gameplay and I would say decent balancing.
One thing someone brought up for my game was caching and precompiling some shaders, I had a fair few lag spikes when playing I think thanks to a new shader being used for the first time. Thanks for making!
Hope Nintendo doesn't see this. I am kidding! Very beautiful visuals and nice mechanic, quite challenging but I can't stop playing. Well done!
Great game hereeee!! loved the graphics, mechanics and sfx.
This is really great! And I mean that even without making any allowances for it being a jam version. Honestly, you could release it on Google Play right now.
Personally, I'd love to see a little tutorial section to help players ease into the game. I also feel like bosses and some enemies could have a less HP, at least in the early stages of the game.
Anyway, great job, and good luck with the project!
The game is so fun and the room animations are so beautiful! Well done! Needless to say the dialogues are hilarious!
Laughed at the market guy :) The encounters felt a bit long at the start, though: the skeletons had like a billion HP.
I loved that mini map and room transitions! excellent jam entry
