Those glowing pumpkin faces look great against the purple sky! I like the idea of starting right beside the exit, then having to head into the maze for the keys. Bit of a tease :D

@avi so glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome, your game is magnificent! I had a blast playing it, really cool stuff!
Great work considering the time available ! Good mood, it definitively is a haunted labyrinth !
Cool entry! Love the overall atmosphere I didn't understand at first that you can reload, so I was running around in circles, ha-ha Sadly I didn't finish, lost my way shortly after finding the shotgun, and it felt a bit repetitive Also, the big pumpkin T-posed at me when I died, that was funny
good level design, had a lot of fun with this game. I misinterpreted "need 3 keys" as 3 keys total, not 3 more keys and had to run all the way back twice lol, but the shooting felt good so I had a good time running around.
Really fun boomer shooter! The retro FPS gunplay feels super punchy, and blasting through waves of pumpkin monsters in the haunted maze is such an awesome vibe for October. Loved the weapon variety and the gate progression system. Left full ratings across the board! If you have a minute later to check out more jam projects, we’d love if you took a look at our game Meow Bomb as well. Best of luck with the jam!
I'm old enough to remember when inverted Y used to be normal, it is so hard to play FPS games when my brain isn't wired to the new way. It wasn't even called inverted at the time. If you really want to lean into the old tech, inverted Y should be the only way! Make the youngsters play it the old way!
I think it is a good start, it definitely needed auto reload, and the ability to aim like it's the 90s again (inverted Y please). Could use some juiciness, it wasn't quite satisfying enough to kill the pumpkin monsters, I was killing them just to get through the gates. I managed to get 3 keys and a second gun before I died, but I didn't do a second run because the mouse controls are just too far from my brain wiring and snappy aiming is a mandatory skill that I can only use when the mouse behaves as expected.
If you patch it to have inverted Y, let me know, I'd love to give it another try. edit: I'd also be willing to revisit my ratings for relevant categories, since this is an accessibility issue that only the old school gamers would have thought about.
Hi @wheelsx I so happy you enjoyed our game! We really appreciate the feedback you have given us. You'll be happy to hear we have uploaded a new patch that includes inverted look directions and auto reload options in the settings menu. We may have also amped up the Pumpkin "Juciness" as well 😆
Oh, boomer shooter! I like a reto FPS and this game too :)
Is there a web build?
The link says HTML5 (web) but there is no playable version, only downloads..
@ausstein oops! Sorry for the confusion, there isn't. Just windows download from our itch page. Thanks for pointing it out, I've corrected it.
okay, im not on a windows pc right now, will check it out later :)
I am glad I came back to check it out!
Really nice gameplay. And you did not commit the sin of ommiting a sensitivity slider that most first person Jam games do!
Also the hitboxes are well aligned, I did not get the feeling "no that was a hit" that is common with Jam shooters.
Movement was also working well!
Some feedback for the future, cut down the content a little and focus on bringing more feedback into the game, hit feedback. Low ammo feedback. Feedback on how close an enemy is to being dead and so on.
Overall great job!
Would've loved more weapons to play around with (and some hit reg!). Fun vibe to this one and saw it through to the end!
Mood, vibe, and graphics were on point here! Gameplay was fun and had all the basic FPS features you'd expect. Nice variety of enemies and the map was decently big for a jam game! Maybe some more player feedback and forgiveness might have been nice, for example, a number on each gate indicating how many kills are required to enter, or a health pickup to extend gameplay a little. The pumpkins looked really good and were satisfying to shoot. I think even more juice and feedback would help take this game from really solid to great. Awesome job!
