I couldn't figure out how to progress, went all over the room pressing E on everything, sat down several times, tried to "drag" the screen or the chair with my mouse, jump out the window, rotate the tab in the computer in a spiral all over the monitor to summon something (xD) and change its size in different ways or go lie on by very comfortable looking bed... Couldn't find the way to unlock summoning.

However, I wanted to mention that I really liked some small detailes you put in. Like the time piece shows current time from my computer, and the date (save the year ofc) is the same. Also, it says "logged in as Xiaomi" and that's my laptop's brand so that's probably me :D

Also, the atmosphere feels great. Makes me want to explore this world and find out more. I read the forums, the entries are funny :) So the game is not scary but has a nice unsettling note to it thanks to the audio and the scenery.

The mountains look gorgeous, I really wish I wasn't encarcerated in this room xD And the theme of Old Tech is interpreted in an interesting way, using anachronistic approach.

I still have it downloaded so if you give me a hint maybe I could play a bit more!

@kanity Thanks! I added a step-by-step solution to the itch page (the LD page doesn't support spoiler tags).

kanity 2026-10-19 16:51 ♥ 0

@alaah Thank you! I peeked Step 1, and gotta say I didn't even realise I can do that :') I will try again!

Hard to understand the message in this game, even with step by step. Because there are no any indicator that you did something right when you hit items on table. But I loved the details in magic mirror and really nice sound of hitting something on the table

Those angular red mountains under the heavy grey sky look striking. The very simple colours give the landscape a lonely, otherworldly feel - a great visual introduction to a surreal little adventure.

It sucks that I had to check the guide at every step but nice humor and screw the Xbox One Controller.

Btw t's so over Elephant in the room bros o7 T-T

kanity 2026-10-20 08:58 ♥ 1

Yeah I have to admit I ended up checking almost every step in the walkthrough ^^' but I liked the overall concept and the humour of the game! It was funny and not too long :) Confusing, sure, but I enjoyed it (with the walkthrough xD)

Great game – my favorite part was the epic judo battle between Altman and Musk! /ref

gamescodedogs 2026-10-20 17:05 ♥ 0

I really like how this game looks. The combination of dark red tones and the sky gives it a Martian feel.

Hope to play it tomorrow. I don’t have a Windows PC with me right now :(

frib 2026-10-21 11:27 ♥ 1

I needed the first step of the tutorial, didn't realize there was a reply function lol. I then obviously replied to every possible message. I enjoyed my playthrough! Not sure why it abruptly ended like it did after I summoned when trying to fix the låååmp.

I really liked the vibe of this game and the weird combination of tech wizards. Modern science is like magic, so it makes sense. It's funny how the world immediately feels alive with just a few forum posts, while we're just stuck in our basement chugging mana potions all day while banging random things on the desk.

Also I can't believe you had that epic fight in the background, really makes the mountains pop when they explode due to the impact of musks corpse when that elephant slams him into it. It's not just a striking visual, it also delivers a powerful message that genuinely resonates with me. Good job!

tinykidtoo 2026-10-22 03:56 ♥ 1

I was a not lost until I found the reply button. Then I got to work smashing everything against the table. Really wanted the solution to the potion to be to shake the can. I love the forums its really cute!

intich 2026-10-22 05:34 ♥ 0

Good game, good luck in the jam!

bentglasstube 2026-10-22 07:17 ♥ 1

I think I got through the entire game, as it let me

!>go to sleep

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this one. The sound effect of getting a new forum post was great. I liked how each repairable item had its own sound too. I'm not really sure I understood the story it was trying to sell but the writing on the forum posts was amusing anyway. I liked that the

!>mana potion level had a different interaction

as well. Thanks for sharing.

wo-ri-gou-le 2026-10-22 07:22 ♥ 1

Absolutely love this one! It is amusingly weird fun coming from all kinda of details, like the 3D scanned models(are they the reason why this game is 220mb when it is clearly not supposed to be??), the stupid glass ball that is clearly a defualt mesh + godotshaders glass( I probably used the same shader before) The incandescent light bulb being a plush??? It is extra hilarious for me bc I made a very realistic incandesent bulb this time.

The nail bed and stupidly vivid vibed forum too! It is such a fun experience. The return button definetly should be out side the text box though had to scroll down to press it every time. Also I used the walkthrough otherwise things don't really maks sense

peremily 2026-10-22 11:25 ♥ 1

I found it tricky to figure out what to do! Even with the first one I did actually do the right thing but didn't realise until I read the guide

I love the graphics, mood and the writing in the forum posts! Nice little game

aidan-andrews 2026-10-22 13:46 ♥ 1

LOVE THIS!! It is so bizarre and inexplicable. The weird photo scanned props, the nonsensical setting and room. Fantastic. I love this.

alaah 2026-10-22 14:35 ♥ 1

@wo-ri-gou-le You could also click on the banner to return to the thread list; the dedicated return button was a late afterthought.

And yes, the models are completely (hilariously) unoptimized and there are several leftovers, which is why the game is so fat. I have planned to release a leaner build but haven't gotten round to it.

revetoon 2026-10-22 16:38 ♥ 1

I had some trouble seeing the [Reply] button at first, but thants to the step by step on the itch page I managed to finish the game !

jeremy-ryan 2026-10-22 17:45 ♥ 1

What an odd entry! I had a lot of fun with it, the atmosphere was lovely, but I truly was confused for most of the time I was playing it.

I did have to use the walkthrough at times, I think I got a bit confused because things that were previously not interactive (like the pile of cans, and summon program) later became interactive without a great indication that they would behave differently. Or I'm just dense.

I love the mix of new and old technology, referred to by wizardly names (like wand for controller, and potion for canned drink).

For your hard work I've awarded you the **Surreal Anachronism** award. Don't spend it all in one place!

As has already been mentioned here, it really is a strange game, but the atmosphere deserves praise!

g-miaz 2026-10-22 21:52 ♥ 1

I had a good time playing ! I was also blocked at first too, I couldn’t see the reply, but once I understood it everything was fine! the strange and timeless atmosphere of the game is what I liked the most. And the recreation of an "old" computer is really good. very nice work!

adam-gould 2026-10-22 22:53 ♥ 1

As others have said, a very strange entry. I'm afraid to say I did use the hints on the Itch page - not all of them were too intuitive but I suppose if it was too easy the game would be over in 2 minutes!

I do like the Martian landscape out the window, it definitely contributed to the overall surrealism.

t-c 2026-10-23 01:39 ♥ 0

You got 2 of my favorite things when playing game jam games in 1: A terminal/OS to interact with, and being trapped in a room with a window that looks out into some landscape. 💯

Everyone else summed up what I think pretty well, so I guess I'll just say that I hope wolfbender finally summons that wolf they've been trying for.

pkenney 2026-10-23 16:35 ♥ 1

I used to live this kind of interaction, first on small local dial-up BBSes (ah the days when you'd try to use the "internet" but get a busy signal because someone else was using it at that moment) and later on internet forums.

So this was a nice nostalgic throwback.

Enjoyed working through the mystery. I got the end without checking any spoilers, although it felt a bit abrupt so I did check after to see if I'd missed anything.

So you primed me for maybe a bit more but I really enjoyed what was here. The visuals were nice, the real-world-models were nice, and the mystery/discovery was satisfying. Nice job!

tomtomgome 2026-10-24 11:54 ♥ 1

Thank you for the hint on the page! What had to be done was a bit cryptic!

The mood a very cool, many funny dialogs, I loved the roughly scanned object and the plush bulb.

The game felt very unique and even though it's not the best game I played it is more memorable than many!

pickens-inc 2026-10-24 19:17 ♥ 1

Managed to figure out everything without guidance! Love the atmosphere here, reading and waiting for new posts to pop up. Took me a bit of time to figure out how to "fix" the potion, but the message response was worth it lol.

Love the writing, and your utilisation of the theme is brilliant. Though it was more "experience" than game, I had a good time with it! Loved the screen effect too. If I were to critique anything, I was a touch disappointed and surprised by the abruptness of the summon seemingly just making everything disappear, only to just sleep and have the game end. Something a bit... *more* would have been nice. That, and I think the light by the table was a bit too low in attenuation and a bit too high in intensity, it made it quite difficult to make the untextured objects out at times, like the controller. But lovely experience, great use of the theme.

Thanks for coming to the stream! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2910887956

This was definitely a unique game xD Never seen anything quite like it. Great stuff!

sudocoffee 2026-10-26 17:46 ♥ 1

This was extremely cool! Like something crazy went down in 1726, and you end up in a bizarre alternate world with its own set of rules. Some random thoughts:

* First thing opening the game, gave off a kind of Myst-like atmosphere between the blocky mountains and soft, modulating hum. * I like seeing less UI in games, and the location-based interaction let that work without using crosshairs. Did confuse me at first, though, because the interaction text appears even if you're not facing the item. * The texture for the walls + furniture + sky is awesome. Especially the contrast between seeing it at a small and large scale. * Played on Linux, and my Linux username seemed to work as intented in the chat program. * Felt like my character had some control over their destiny, but between the torture device in the corner, and that I was trapped in a doorless room surrounded by a barren landscape, there was always the ominous feeling that I wasn't actually in control here. * I didn't look at anything except the Ludum Dare description before playing (only looked at the hint section after "winning" the game a couple times). I kind of love games with esoteric puzzles that never quite explain themselves, and I wish there were more games like this out there. * Not sure if it was a bug, but the screen's CRT shader only showed up for part of the first playthrough. The lightbulb also doesn't re-light if you reset the game. * The mirror's interface was a lot of fun. Janky, especially when the cursor doesn't have an obvious pointer, but it adds a lot to the atmosphere, and I'd take that over usability any day. * After the first playthrough, I tried a couple more times to see if there's some other way to end without overloading the system. Seems, though, like my fate is just to go to sleep (forever).

Definitely one of my favorites this jam, thanks for making!
