good idea. In start was easy, but after a short time - more difficult
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD46 → Kitty King

Great game, it is a little disturbing, we don't have any hit indicator
Cool concept and it's pretty fun. It would work well on a mobile device
Enjoyed it. Found it similar to a rhythm game, with the correct placement coming in sequence, and where you place your pieces being indicated.
Very sute sprites :) Is there a way we can get our character back in once they die?
This is a cool mechanic; I've never seen drag + drop used like this before! Eventually I realized that I can use each class against itself, and that made the game a lot easier. Was that intentional?
If you decide to continue this game after the jam, you could illustrate the characters like 'Rock Warrior', 'Scissor Archer', 'Paper Mage' 😂
I'd add some icons to remember who kills what because I found myself constantly thinking about which kitty should I move.
Great use of the drag and drop feature!
Have you thought about limiting movements on a grid? Sometimes where you place your kitty is not really aligned with the one that's coming downwards
Stylistically I really like this entry. I'm a big fan of the "pencil on paper" motif and it just looks really cute. I also like the actual mechanical concept. It's almost like a on-rails tower defense game or something, unique and interesting.
My only issue is around juice and polish: Hit indicators, differentiation between friendly and enemy sprites, etc.
I think there's a great game here with a bit of polish.
Thanks for the guy words guys! Unfortunately we ran out of time (we have work today) so we had to get it into a publishable state, so we didn't get to hitmakers, or color tinted friends/enemies @magnusfurcifer @a-312 . @mikesalyh we actually didn't know what to do about the warrior vs warrior scenario and we ran out of time to change what we had. Currently it will disable your warrior for a few seconds which opens the door for someone to attack the king, but still that bit needs some work.
Good concept but it misses visual and sounds informations to understand what really happens in game. But we always forget feedback in game jam!
I liked the concept, but found it really difficult to keep track of which warriors, mages and archers were mine. Made it tough in a way that was frustrating. If the two sides were visually distinct it would be easier to focus on the mechanic, rather than picking out which of the 5 archers on screen is a defender.
If you press 'W' it does something weird to the screen. Nice little game!
Nice job guys! Really like the whole concept and art style you've used. It was a little confusing at first but definitely a fun experience to play through once i got the hang of it.
Very cool game. It would be nice with some sound like a pencil drawing on a page when you move a character or something. It was one of the more fun games I've played so far. I thought it was going to be too easy, but I thought the difficulty ramped up well.
A cute reinterpretation of rock paper scissors. Would be cool on touch devices! I suggest making the three draggable figures easier to distinguish from the enemies, because when the screen gets crowded they all mix up and the player can easily mistake an enemy for a player character.
Cool concept. The graphics are cool aswell. It fits the theme. Good job!
Really nice gameplay idea, and Graphics are funny
I miss a hit feedback, and perhaps to hide disabled ennemies, so I understand better what happens. I miss also any feedback also when the cat is hit.
It seems very cool but I had no idea how to play at start
PERFECT! i love the sprites, the game is very fun. good job :)
The gameplay idea is simple and it okay fun to play. The visual style is cool, but the game really needs some sound effects/music. Overall an okay little jam game.
cute sprites, drag and drop is a bit buggy. it needs some sounds
@spaghetti Yeah we ran out of time with the sounds. The drag and drop should be good unless your browser is sized in such a way that there is a scroll bar. If there is a scroll bar, scrolling down will mess with with the hit locations of clicks :\ I ran out of time to getting around to fixing this.
Hello :) it was fun to play the idea is pretty cool. Work well on mobile device that nice !
I like the pencil style of the game... very nice. I am glad that the little arrows appears so I remember who can attack who, that's very useful to me. A quick and fun little entry! Congratulations on your first jam!
Good concept! This is a great ideia. If you want, you keep with this freak art, but make more elements. Change the background and put sound (a lot effects and sounds in this game).
I've never seen this mechanic. Cool one. dragging and killing, makes me think of good old days with mario paint. It's a bit non-intuitive at the very beginning but once you get it I could play no problem. Nice one :)
Really nice art. The mechanics worked well although distinguishing between enemies and friendly would have been nice.
Interesting game. I liked the art style, especially the kitty-king. The mechanic is fine. I was missing the hit point indicator at first but could quickly figure out that cat can take three hits. Was a bit too challenging for me to proceed too far though. Is there any way to win it?
Great job overall!
Omg, for a rock-paper-scissors system, you would be impressed at how many times I forgot which cat to counter the enemies with :O Once I figured out the handy little arrows that you added pointing to correct enemies, it made the game MUCH easier and enjoyable for me, so kudos for that system! I loved the art style and the paper background. Would have enjoyed some music and sfx, and maybe a boss fight, but all in all, I really liked this game and had fun playing it =) Good job!
Simple little game, but well executed !
I'm getting too old for games that require fast clicking :D
Nice work, looks good and a simple but challenging concept.
Had a good time, it was a bit hard to understand at first!
Very very fun! I like games where you get to defend something. I wish I had more defenders. It did take a while to understand. Great job!
Good fun game. Simple concept executed well. Congratulations finishing your first jam.
I found myself forgetting what beats what  Maybe having the rules on the side of the screen would be nice :)
Hello !
So I don't know how much time you had altogether. How experienced you were and how tricky it was for you but I'll try to take that in consideration and give contrsuctive feedbacks. If they seem harsh, I'm sorry, I just want to help out by being honest and help out for next jams especialy if you enjoyed making this one wich I certainly hope so !
So the game is simple and nice and it is always enjoyable to have games like that. The only thing that it is lacking is juiciness. Wich is the step you take when your game is done where you recode redraw and adds a lot of music art and feedback to make the game feel very dynamic and responsive.
During jams, a game with very few feature but a lot of juicyness is way better than a game with a lot of features that are not very juicy. ( My game as well could use more juice )
The only thing I want to emphasize on is if you had a game with less things to do, but music, sounds, menus, begining and end, and a very well balanced system. You would have a great jam game. It's good for a first that you even made a game as around 60% of projects started for this ludum dare DROPED COMPLETLY.
Congratutlations to you guys and can't wait to see what you'll do next with the experience you acquired during this jam.
Great idea, i love different implementations of simples mechanics, life pen-paper-scissor. But it was really hard to understand what to do, specially see which of the troops were mine and which not, i think different collors for them would help alot!
@lukas-tamayo Yeah we were running out of time so didn't get to add a lot of features. We had some recorded audio, but with only a few hours left we had a problem; the game wasn't fun. So we spent the last bit of time rebalancing constants and adding in a few quick hacks to make it funner. And I must say it came a long way; its a totally different game. There were a lot of issues with the first design. Your own units could be killed; leaving no way to recover. It turned out to be very hard to remember which unit defeated which, so you ended up just getting destroyed unless you applied 100% brain power lol. Also there was no progression. So, in like that last 3 hours we had tweaked all of that, had it speed up as you do better, and added little arrows to hint to you which unit this one should attack (if they are close enough to your king, otherwise arrow doesn't show up). So we didn't get all the features, but the core gameplay mechanic now works much better.
Interesting concept, feels like an advanced version of rock paper scissors! The aesthetics are nice but I think you should explore and develop it further. The one thing I'm missing is sound effects but other that that, great job!
...Did i not commented this game before??? How strange... (I was sure i had posted a commented before... Oh, well...) 🤔
First of all, i want to apologise in before for the harsh comment, i have some sour feelings about this game, and is NOT my intention ruining the feelings of anybody with my words... The pen is mightier than the sword sometimes, so be aware...
Originally, i think was going to say that i didin't like very much because it felt like an unfinished game, and nothing else than an extended version of "rock-paper-scissor", with nothing much else to do other than protect the king, that to me was not much fun by itself...
...But then i read than you ran out of time, so i assume that my assumption that the game is unfinished were actually correct, and this justifies many of the things I mentioned... Sadly, i still think that this is too much barebones, but i hope for improvement in the near future...
Again, i'm sorry for this comment... 😔
Cute game, it really can have some tactical improvements and become even more intresting
Cute and simple game :D
Loved that the art really seems to be a paper draw. Nice touch mixing pencil and paper with movement. Good work!
Nice Game and funny artstyle :-D
Runs nice, you can kill the different units with just one kind of unit at some points, it was quite an intermittent issue in my case. sometimes my units would be pushed back from hitting the wrong enemies, and sometimes they would just brute force their way through killing their opponents, happened mostly when i was directly controlling units.
Graphics are neat, some sounds would probably do this game some good.
It makes me think of the doodle wars I used to do during class
Nice, the style is nice, but I didn't expect for the idea to be so good. I really liked it. The arrows to indicate which hero should defend is really good. Would love to play this game again with more content and some sound effects. Well done!
I understood what to do only after a third time. Anyway the game is hard. maybe you need to add the explanation on the screen so the player sees who beats who all the time, because it's hard to remember. But I like the graphics
I really like the simple controls. The art is very cute too. The difficulty pacing is pretty spot on. Ramps up over time, but doesn't take forever to do so. Really good work and hope you continue to jam!
