Is draining blood supposed to one-shot enemies even when they are at full health? I never really felt like I was in danger because I could just rely on blood drain to kill every enemy onscreen. Otherwise interesting concept, the resource management side of the game works well with the card game aspect.
This game has a lot of potential. I got old-school Final Fantasy vibes from this (as well as Slay the Spire, obviously.) It's definitely well done considering the time frame. I really like how there is a story without it being spoon-fed to you.

Not bad, I enjoy playing this game, the difficult progression is good. But to be honest the music has been a little noise.

neat game! managed to last 6 days! what actually happens if you dont "feed her"?
@jibberwocky Yeah its supposed to be an instant kill, but you get less blood the higher their health is, so theres an incentive to not use it to kill everyone straight away. Thanks for playing!

Very nice!!
I'm so excited to see a card game in LD50! This is the first I've played from this jam. It played well, good mechanics, very solid. Very impressive for 2 days.

not sure how the drain blood button works?
@mgear you click it then select the enemy to drain. the lower the enemy's health the more blood you get. I'll make it more clear in the instructions!

Interesting game but I wish there was more instructions on how the game works.
Really unique game! I was a bit confused about the drain blood but on my second try I understood! I only managed to survive 5 games but t was challenging. The atmosphere also complimented the game really well and added to the experience. Nice job :D

Cool idea, great art and a lot of fun.
Interesting! A little too forgiving maybe, but a cool concept with good execution! A little on the easy side since you can drain blood without penalty or using an action even from full health enemies (thus making it impossible to die since you can just drain your way through the rest of the combats), but I could see this turning into a really good game with the skeleton of the deckbuilder that you have here
Also it looks like my big sword and armor stay equipped across multiple days/combats? Not sure if that's intended considering that I keep drawing their cards
There are some interesting mechanisms going on, but it could use some balance (some cards are too powerful to use and they doesn't really worth it). I wouldn't know how to use the drain button if it weren't in the comments.

Ah! I played through wondering what that blood button does; reading the comments above now and it's much more clear!
Playing through again with using that feature is sweet. The art style reminds me a lot of the early Adventure Quest days, but with a card twist :)
I've survived for 9 days in total! This is a rather unique game, in a sense that traditional rules for these card games are completely different from what you need to do in this one. Sometimes it's better to drain blood earlier because you're dying, sometimes it's better to try to leave them with as little health as possible. Also, the fact that you have to be aware to not kill them by accident is a very fun mechanic.
The only thing that bothered me a bit was the visual feedback on the blood drain button (or the lack thereof). Other than that, the game was really solid and fun to play.
Great job!

12 days! This is awesome man, such clever game mechanics. I loved the fact that everything is smartly connected, like you actually choose when an opponent dies, but if it is too early, you don't collect enough blood, but at the same time if you wait an additional turn they will deal damage, that you cannot take too much because you sacrificed a bit of your blood to not take the risk of her blood reserve being too low.
The cards give really satisfying feedback, with the animations and sounds. Some other visuals could be improved a little bit, but it's very good overall! The music fits the game perfectly.
I had a really good experience playing your game, good job!
Edit: I'd love to see an improved version of it, please let me know if you work on this someday!

Interesting concept: the ability to one-shot each enemy and the objective to not make so many damages are a novel idea in the combat genre.
It could use more cards and option to be a full game.
Great entry!

The idea is interesting. The game and card art look good.
The UI is a bit awkward, requiring several clicks to play a single card and not much visual feedback to distinguish between picking a card and picking a target. The biggest example of this is the "Drain Blood" button which requires a target but it doesn't ask for one, so at first glance the Drain Blood button seems to do nothing. It would be good to highlight possible targets and just click on a card to play it instead of having a "use card" button. It would also be nice to automatically end turn if there are no enemies left. Some other things that would be nice would be a visual effect for blocking, and a number for the enemies health.
Being able to one-shot enemies at will makes defensive cards seem a lot less valuable, but there is still a nice strategic tradeoff between draining healthy enemies to avoid taking damage vs leaving them alive in the hope of draining more blood on a later turn. Given that you get more blood from low health enemies, it would have been nice if there was some visual feedback to show how much blood an enemy will give.

This art is so good! It looks really clean. Game mechanics were great, I completely forgot I was playing a jam game. Love it!
