I loved the graphics and sound although i found the gameplay a little difficult
This was really something — I've never seen anything quite like the mechanic and visual presentation of having the guy in the background throw stuff to a second character in the foreground. Really neat. Only issue I had was I didn't hear any music.
It took me a hot mintue to understand the gameplay and once I did- man was it hard. IT was quite difficult to get ahead of the enemy, I would always find myself getting caught. It was fun though, if you into difficult games like myself lol
web version seems a bit broken :/ only see three characters on the screen and i'm not sure it reacts to any input. tag me if the upload is changed so i can properly rate it!
The game does look good and I liked the music. I was a little confused at first how to play and it was still pretty hard once I figured i tout.
Interesting concept and unique gameplay mechanic controlling two characters with the parallax background. Definitely a fun challenge once I grasped the controls/gameplay!
A bit more instructions could help since it took me a few tries to really understand what I had to do and how to do it. I actually had an easier time with it on desktop than on mobile because the catches would register better.
The gameplay was fun. I played on mobile, then on desktop, and I think desktop controls were easier/more intuitive, even if the graphics suffered. It kinda got repetitive after a while and the difficulty didn't seem to change noticeably. Good game, and amazing music!
I like the art, and how I controlled two different characters on different layers. The gameplay was fun, but at once too difficult and too easy. Carrots, tomatoes, and corn are very easy to catch, radishes are devilishly hard, and I wasn't able to catch a single pumpkin despite trying for about 15 minutes. Often it felt like the pumpkins were impossible to catch, because they'd go too high for the catcher to get them. That said, I think with some tweaks this could be quite addicting!
Good entry op :D haha I liked the gameplay and the smooth controls!
Cool idea here you've got here! One of the better squad-based vegetable pickers I've played today ;) I like the parallax layers and controlling two characters at a time with very different movement mechanics. It's pretty challenging to get in the correct position when the veggies drop into the foreground, but I can imagine some cool gameplay coming out of a post-jam version if you keep adding to it. Maybe something like being able to pass items/food back and forth between all three characters of your group, or maybe at the end of the day you need to set up camp to cook your food, and one person can be cooking for the group while the others do various tasks or keep watch for raiders/wolves in the distance. Great work on finishing your game and coming up with a unique idea!
It took me a while to understand whether I'm controlling the front guy or the background guy. A fun and challenging game!
Stealing crops, are we? 🧤
**Fun little game**! Also **very difficult**.
Catching vegetables is really hard without a way for the foreground man to **walk backwards**! Many times, stopping isn't enough!
Didn't play with sound. Sorry! I couldn't turn my phone volume on!
A mobile game! That's unusual for a game jam! I'll reward you for that!
**The game does not run on Firefox Desktop**. (I'm not sure why...) I suggest you mention that, or you'll get confused players who won't understand your game!
@togo-sepultraut Play on a mobile browser as intended :)
Very hard to get the hang of
The illusion of depth is well made though
Played on mobile, worked well! But lol I had a tough time playing haha got a 0 the first few times
Cool submission! I died many times and restarted before i realised that i wasnt the character in red! I had to go back to the ludum dare page to read how to play so perhaps next time you can tutorial the game from within the game! Otherwise i think i managed to get like 19 points before dying, its pretty hard!
~~Not sure what happened, but I couldn't get the game to play on my browser :-(~~ (edit: someone mentioned that it looks like this does not work on firefox).
