LD26 — Minimalism

ClickStory by ComicSans 2013-06-05T05:34:00

From looking at the screen shots I mistakenly thought that the game was text input only and I spent a few frustrating minutes trying to figure out valid inputs. Eventually I realized that you could click on things as well and that helped out a great deal. I think that I figured out all the commands as I was able to easily defeat the boss two different ways. It was frustrating enough that defeating the boss was satisfying, but if it had been any more cryptic I probably would have given up. As it is, there's almost no instructions for the user - I guess the point is that you have to figure out not just how to win, but how to play as well.

ClickStory by ComicSans 2013-06-05T05:41:00

One other thing. When I was trying to figure out the commands at some point I found a Reality Foil inside the chest. I wasn't able to figure out what I did to get it. Eventually I gave up and looked at the source. Nice debug override.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

GA GAME ME by Jezzamon 2021-05-06T01:43:19Z

I really enjoyed all parts of this. Well done.

Dino Digger by dankar 2021-05-03T02:50:20Z

Nice puzzle game, although I'm still a little unsure about the tile movement rules (were there some bugs?).

Sinking Feeling by skiddings 2021-05-03T10:58:59Z

Took a little while to get a hang of the controls and read the dials but after after dying a few times I was able to avoid and/or shoot the objects in the deep well enough while I sank. Progressively introducing the controls or providing more feedback (like sounds) to make it clear what was happening (easy to miss what was going on in the dials) would be helpful. After learning the controls it was fun to drive the sub around, had there been a clear objective would have kept playing much longer.

Deeper Into Technical Problems by thesambassador 2021-05-07T20:55:34Z

Fun game that reminded me many old console breakout style games. Addicting to want to play again to just go a little further next time. I did notice that occasionally bumping into things made me not die, but it seemed ok and was kinda nice to not die. :)

Lots of potential for further powerups or terrain types, special bonus levels, starting out easier (or having an easy mode), etc... Would play more.

Abyssonaut by thomas-olsson 2021-05-06T02:28:32Z

Phenomenal graphics, sound, mood, and gameplay. Enjoyed the twist. Beat it on my 4th or 5th time and the final ascent was intense. Only change I wanted was different keyboard controls. Found e + x awkward to switch between and also wanted the up arrow to do jump/jetpack.

The shaft by smiley 2021-05-08T01:29:20Z

Nice graphics and sound. I like the concept of breakout with powerups. A little hard to direct the balls and little slow because of it - especially at the end of levels where there weren't many blocks left to hit.

The Hunt for the Plastic Bag by Bewelge 2021-05-03T02:40:49Z

It starts out well with some easy to get upgrades, but after that it does feel a bit grindy and agree with what others have said that the balance between getting the small, plentiful items vs just diving seems off (ended up mostly just diving for points). I do like the sonar/flashlight mechanic though. It actually feels like you're diving in the deeps with limited information.

Autumn Hike by Brusi 2021-05-06T02:06:17Z

A fun little game. I especially enjoyed the Undertale like graphics, text, the humor, and the zoom in/out animation.

Age of Dwarves by DangerBlack 2021-05-06T01:20:22Z

Nice theme, nice mood, nice music, very polished. Liked how new resources, buildings, and other elements were introduced progressively.

Eye of Skozrack by Echo GameWorks 2021-05-03T02:24:05Z

Nice theme, really liked the mood and the sound effects. However for me this game alternated between fun and frustrating. Kinda like playing golf games it was fun when I picked the right angle and power, frustrating otherwise. Visual indication of direction and power level (other than max) would have been very helpful.

MENACING MINER by Divagated 2021-05-08T01:09:39Z

Nice, fun game!

Magmatic Descent by Vanea 2021-05-03T03:05:55Z

Interesting game. The lava time pressure really pushes you to move quickly. Also agree with others that combining the move/dig action would help, especially considering how punishing the levels are and how fast you need to move. Would have been nice to have an easier level or two up front to experiment and learn the game play, but maybe that's the point?

Captain on the Bridge by tkers 2021-05-08T01:17:41Z

Was a little hard to figure out at first, but once I did it was straightforward. I would definitely play an expanded version of this.

Hook, Line, Key by chiyeon 2021-05-06T00:33:13Z

Really nice game. Controls were intuitive. The mood and game play were both laid back and relaxing. The relaxing piano music also helped with the mood. Liked the ending too. My only (small) complaint is the tutorial was kinda long, and I missed something in the instructions and had to play it again to figure out what I was doing wrong. Keep up the good work!

Work In Progress by Aquarii 2021-05-03T02:58:03Z

Still doesn't seem to be working. :(

Snoopin Around by Madorly 2021-05-06T03:11:28Z

Not much here, but seems like it could be a foundation from which to build a puzzle type game with multiple locations and items you have to go back and forth between.

Way Down We Go by Slowfrog Again 2021-05-06T01:54:50Z

Liked the music, the sound effects, and the humor. I think I collected all 6 trophies, but I'm not sure if I actually did everything.

Dwarven Depths by steelax 2021-05-06T00:57:27Z

Really nice game. Would happily play more levels. The mechanics were easy to use and the voice over and story line added nicely to the mood. I thought the level of prompting made it on the easy side, but that's probably a good thing for a game jam. I did struggle at first though because I didn't see the key and thought maybe I was doing something wrong and died a few times before figuring it out.

Metagalactic by saile515 2021-05-03T02:56:26Z

Nice game, biggest gripe is my partner complained whenever the alarm was going off and I had to get headphones.

LD49 — Unstable

Goblings! by Tony Li 2021-10-05T02:09:29Z

Nice game!. I especially liked the "whee" sound effects. :)

Short Fuse by beats 2021-10-05T01:59:19Z

Got out in 17 seconds. Stressful but also fun!

【night trade】 by jonah 2021-10-06T01:33:11Z

I was lost at first, but it started to make sense after a few days. Glad I stuck with it. I graphics and the music matched to make a relaxing experience.

Cairn by Chrispy977 2021-10-05T02:19:26Z

Seems like an interesting game, but I couldn't get the web version to load.

Cairn by Chrispy977 2021-10-06T01:36:02Z

I tried in Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. Waited a few minutes for each of them. The progress bar doesn't appear to move.

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Dino Fate by Zettelkasten 2022-04-05T02:58:18Z

Great theme, amazing voiceovers, and totally a blast to play.

Worthy of sharing with my friends, family, and co-workers!

Futile Fire Fighters by Ziamor 2022-04-05T02:29:17Z

Great idea, amazing graphics, and nice concept that fit the theme. I found the controls a bit hard to use and more than once ended up with the screen upside down.

Not sure if sound was missing or if it was just on my end, but sound could have helped the mood and ability to know events happened significantly.

Wild Deuce Chase by anchoredtoad 2022-04-05T02:31:10Z

I didn't actually play because it needs to be downloaded to windows, but the theme looks freaking hilarious. Nice job!

Just Five More Minutes... by Rainsong 2022-04-05T02:23:07Z

The mood and sound of this game put me right to sleep, and that's a good thing! (I really liked that part.)

I wasn't sure what was happening at first when I hit the alarm clocks. Some additional feedback would have bee helpful.

Department Of Demise by Crychair 2022-04-05T03:29:43Z

Nice graphics, great audio, nice humor. I found it hard to mentally switch back from reading the orders to the manipulating the controls, maybe different positioning would have been easier (or maybe that was by design).

Run Wacho Run by Sarduc 2022-04-05T03:03:00Z

This is way more fun that it should be. Nice job!

Dino Defense by 3BT 2022-04-05T02:16:28Z

It took me a few tries to figure out the controls and how to play, and once I did the controls were a little janky, and thought overall gameplay was a little slow-paced, but overall a solid effort. I particularly enjoyed the theme and appreciated the lo-res art & music to match.

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Graveyard Shift by MattDahEpic 2022-10-04T01:18:37Z

Neat game, but got a bit tedious after a little while and I just gave up (score of 35, whatever that means). It's hard to imagine using the entire field, I wasn't really ever able to manage more than 8 plots of land.

Medieval Politics by sillyman987 2022-10-03T23:28:52Z

I really liked the concept of having to make quick decisions. I also enjoyed the humor. Nice work!

Factory Reset by ComicSans 2022-10-03T23:59:33Z

@odtray Thanks for the feedback! We love mechs too. There actually is music and sound, but it's off by default. The toggle is in the upper left.

Super Auto Crusaders by Savolae 2022-10-03T23:50:53Z

I didn't play it enough to figure out the optimal strategy, but I really liked the graphics and enjoyed watching the fights. One tip: upgrade selection was a bit confusing the first few times (I have 3? Why can I only select 1? Wait, I'm out of time, did it do anything?), so would have liked that to be more obvious.

Turbo Chef by EvilScotsman 2022-10-03T23:35:08Z

I struggled to figure out the controls, but once I did it was fun. Smashing the banana was my favorite thing to do!

Purple Legion by Astoeth 2022-10-04T00:38:35Z

Very enjoyable game! Quick to learn and play. I liked the lighthearted music. I would have appreciated larger and easier to read text. As it was I had trouble reading the text and figuring out what each thing, which slowed down my gameplay.

Ludum Ware by PenguinMunch 2022-10-04T00:52:54Z

Played on the itch.io version. I was able to kill everyone in the first game after figuring out I needed to run up to get a weapon, but the 2nd and 3rd games didn't seem to be working.

Ludum Ware by PenguinMunch 2022-10-04T01:33:00Z

@penguinmunch Whatever changed, it's working now! Was able to do all 3. Plus there was music which I don't recall being there before. I like the carryover idea.

The Day Time stood still by Sixela963 2022-10-04T01:05:25Z

Played the web version. Not sure if I did something wrong, but left clicking didn't seem to do anything. Also, just holding down 'd' I was able to run all the way to the end by outrunning the spheres.

No Time For Love by davidtheginger 2022-10-04T15:56:12Z

Nice entry! I especially liked the graphics of the people, the sounds, and the music gave it a nice mood. I found the different people and what they were saying amusing, and it was fun to get them to spew hearts.

LD53 — Delivery

Chaos Kitchen by NoobDude 2023-05-02T13:24:59Z

Took a few seconds to figure out what to do, but once I did it went quickly. I liked the soothing music and the overall mood. I did run into the same problems as reported by Glacian. Nice entry!

Pack Bringer by Bugord 2023-05-02T13:42:17Z

Really nice game. I enjoyed solving the puzzles. Especially the last few were very hard. I also ran into the issue where the game appeared to be stuck, but backing out and restarting the level worked with the extra character present which I could safely ignore. I didn't notice the wall vents on one of the levels and was stuck for a while there until I noticed it.

Deliver the baby! by Enad96 2023-05-02T12:28:03Z

I enjoyed playing this game with some fava beans and a nice chianti.

INTACT™ by pierogo 2023-05-03T02:21:44Z

Fun game, but very hard. I gave up on the 3rd level when I couldn't figure out the path to the end and kept dying.

Mail Mayhem by iDoesNotCompute 2023-05-02T13:11:11Z

I really liked the x-ray scanner. And the customer interactions when you screwed up were a blast. I played it again and messed up intentionally every time just to see more of them!

As far as suggestions, I would have preferred to see the name without having to click on the item. As it was I felt like it slowed things down a lot and made me focus too much on the controls and clicking in the right place vs focusing on the sorting. Nice game though, I enjoyed it!

Pizza Race by E-polygon 2023-05-02T12:53:25Z

Nice entry EPolygon team! The time pressure added a good level of tension and it was fun to try to slip between cars to get the precious pizza. It might have been nice to have started out with a little more time at the beginning though while I was figuring the game out, and then have the difficulty ramp up a little bit later. Great job though, especially for your first time!

LD54 — Limited Space

Conveyor Chaos by wheelsx 2023-10-02T23:12:19Z

Very nice entry! It reminded me of an old atari 2600 game called cosmic arc where the arc was stationary shooting asteroids in 4 directions. The two biggest problems were that it got repetitive fairly quickly and also I wasn't really able to pay attention to more that one direction at a time, so trying to dodge or shoot in more than one direction was kinda hard. But overall I liked it. Nice job!

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Kumamushi no Samurai by Codeman1010 2024-10-08T00:24:26Z

I really like the art style and the music; very nice mood. I defeated all the enemies I came across with a single strike, but maybe I gave up too soon to get to enemies that required more complex tactics. At any rate, that's very understandable for a jam. Very nice entry!

Alcheminis by swimdoctor 2024-10-08T00:16:32Z

I walked around for a long time I could find any purple rocks. Was I doing something wrong?

Tiny Elevator by webDrag0n 2024-10-08T00:31:58Z

I'm not able to play. https://webdrag0n.itch.io/tiny-elevator has a 404 error.

Tiny Survival Tactics(Puzzle) by Sphinx 2024-10-08T00:35:49Z

Tried to play using chrome on windows. I can't get the title screen. Am I doing something wrong?

Tiny Survival Tactics(Puzzle) by Sphinx 2024-10-08T12:21:56Z

Whoops, meant to say I can't get past the title screen. I can hear music and the title is moving around.

The Big Battle for Tiny Mouse City by Gametrodon 2024-10-08T00:30:26Z

I can't figure out how to equip an weapon and get out of the first room. What am I doing wrong?

Every Light Counts by BruceZoom 2024-10-08T00:09:56Z

Loved the art, the music, and the overall mood. The gameplay also felt very unique. Definitely has a learning curve, but after a few deaths I started to get the hang of it. My biggest struggle was with the controls. I had a hard time doing a, s, & d, so I switched to using the arrow keys + s, but then it was hard to also get the shift key and I kept pushing the wrong button or holding down the wrong one too long. I should note I'm not great a "twitchy" games, and I didn't play for that long, so that might just be me. Even with that I really liked this overall. Nice job!

LD59 — Signal

Red Light Synthlight by MrTroy 2026-04-21T04:57:39Z

Very nice game. Agree with other reviewers that the red was too long, which is an easy fix. I also found the controls a bit hard to use, especially the e button to activate, which meant I had to shift my fingers off of WASD.

Sinking Signal - Physical Rules Edition by NBumgardner 2026-04-21T05:00:58Z

Woohoo, a board game! I didn't play it, but did read the rules. Sounds interesting, but I didn't really fully understand them. Agree with others that pictures and examples would be helpful. Nice job though!

Sky signal by Kit Gorn 2026-04-21T05:20:57Z

Nice entry! It was fun driving the little robot around. However, it was very hard to see where to go and it got a bit repetitive given the size of the world. I ended up falling in a ravine looking for the caves and gave up. Some additional directional guidance or a map overview or something would have been very helpful.

Last Frequency by Catanus 2026-04-23T17:40:29Z

I enjoyed this a lot. One of the few jam games I've played that was easy to jump in (not a lot of intro or complex controls) and kept my attention all the way to the end. Really nice audio and mood too. When the paths split it broke my brain, but in a good way. The one thing I'm not sure about is the aiming mechanic - it didn't seem very challenging, assuming that getting the circle to the center was all that was required. Keeping up with the saucer reminded me of beaming up the aliens in Cosmic Ark, an old Atari game that probably only I like or remember. All in all, great job!

Monitor Maze by awdsasdaw 2026-04-23T14:55:26Z

Really nice mood, graphics and sound. It seems promising, but I struggled with the controls, especially going from WASD to 3 to stun when the enemies would run at you. For the record I struggle with the controls in a lot of games, but because of that I kept dying and never got close to completing the level.

Decoder by Garaptic 2026-04-23T14:48:30Z

Nice entry! I liked the retro style, the music and the mood. However, I wasn't able to get past the first morse code entry. When I was typing the entry box would go away before I was done, then I'd have to tune the frequency, it would come back, I'd start typing, and then it would go away again. The one time I finally got it, it turned out there was a dot I hadn't seen that overlapped with the starting bracket. Anyway, having the entry box always visible instead of just sometimes vanishing or controllable by the user feels like it would have been helpful.
