cute!
Nice game, cute robot, and enjoyed it. Thanks!
Hey! I really liked your game, I started to care so much for Sky in such a small amount of time, I was worried we won't make it:(
Nice entry! It was fun driving the little robot around. However, it was very hard to see where to go and it got a bit repetitive given the size of the world. I ended up falling in a ravine looking for the caves and gave up. Some additional directional guidance or a map overview or something would have been very helpful.
@eseniia-no Thanks for playing my game! There were several ideas I didn't have time to implement. Initially, I planned for two different endings, but since I was pressed for time, I decided to stick with a linear and melancholic feel.
@onedozenbagels, yes, you right. I was thinking about how to guide the player, so I made the walkable paths a different color. However, just in case the player feels adventurous and gets lost, I added a "Return to Last Checkpoint" button in the menu. I did consider adding extra triggers if a player goes off-track, but I simply ran out of time to implement them. Thanks for playing my game!
Loved the story setting! I was driving around, accidentally fell into a ravine and got stuck lol
It need some polish but its good game
@roccay Thanks for playing my game! Yeah, I see a lot of people are having trouble with ravines. I made a return to checkpoint button to get out of those situations. Now you can just press the "R" key.
i think you need to put a tiled sand material on the ground and increase the speed of drone
Nicely done. I accidentally wasted time backtracking at one point. It would be nice to leave tracks behind so you can tell where you've been. I found an apparent bug. Once you get to the end, if you go back and take the "alternate" path, you get another message that no longer fits in the storyline.
I like the music here! and the gameplay is fun! enjoyed exploring map and reading conversation was fun too.!
The music creates a really great atmosphere. I liked the reference to Wall-E.
I was a bit confused at first about how to control the rover’s left and right movement using the mouse.
A really good 3D game
@alexander-stepanov @comicsans @gamcho @fifut Thanks for playing the game.
The music used to be more complex, but it required more time to refine. So I simplified it to three notes. It literally has three bass notes and a delay.
Nice, I liked it—great atmosphere ^_^
The atmosphere of exploring the derelict mining planet is super immersive! I particularly liked the way the journey felt like a genuine search for those hidden veins of ore. Great job creating such a compelling setting for the companions' mission.
@cometores Thanks for playing my game!
@eugenik Thank you for playing my game! You’re clearly one of those people who actually reads the game description before jumping in. Because at the very beginning of the game, it's not clear why they flew there in the first place.
Its a very ambitious game!
Cons: - The background music was a bit repetitive - Gameplay is kind of repetitive. Some kid of upgrade for Sky like a shooter that lets you blast stuff open would be killer - Shadows/lighting are too harsh - Flashlight is too soft - Terrain fidelity is too low (character got stuck a lot)
Pros: - The story actually made me care for the little robots. Poor Jade :( lol - The title screen having an intro animation was really cool. - The graphics meshed well together - The controls have no glaring issues or bugs - Having a return to checkpoint button was very smart in a game like this where you can get stuck and lose progress - SFX on the engine motor is good
Overall you did a great job!
@william-corrin Now that's a comment, buddy! It's like a separate art form in itself. Thanks for playing my game.
What was planned: - Two endings: With two different final cutscenes. - Constant energy search: There would be ore scattered across the map acting as an energy source. - A more complex story in the mine: Sky was supposed to find a deep-sea radar from Rust. That’s where we meet Mars. During the scan, Mars was meant to perish right before our eyes. - Search mechanics: Our antenna was intended to work as a radar for finding items—the closer the object, the more frequent the signal. - Upgrade - Jump: At some point, we would have had to jump across platforms. - Upgrade - Sprint: Using Shift for high-speed driving to escape a collapsing cave. - More complex music: I decided not to spend too much time on it, which is why there are only three notes.
What I realized for myself: "Terrain" is quite limiting when it comes to creating controlled landscapes. It’s better to use it only as a base layer for the ground.
Thanks for the detailed feedback. It really gives me a lot to think about to make the game better!
Cool game with a lot of things to do there, thanks!
Nice game! I liked it, and I reached the beacon (I guess this is the end). Also, the story was sooo good! Graphics are nice (the little rover is cute), and audio part intensifies the story by a lot.
These are my thoughts: - the lighting is too harsh: the shadows are way darker in comparison of the light area. A texture for terrain (a rocky one is perfect) with low to 0 smoothness would solve 90% of the problem. - the title screen is animated (that's a good thing, especially for a game jam). - terrain is quite interesting... the thing is that you see lots of tall mountains. I'd do a smoothness for them to be honest, but I guess this is how you want to look like. Not complaining about this aspect, but the roads where the rover could go feel sometimes off. In some areas the rover is stuck and need to do a turn to avoid them. - I don't know if this planet has an atmosphere, and if it doesn't, it would be nice to have some stars in the sky.
Overall, good job!
Nice game! I do wonder if I finished it or not. I think I got to the beacon, but then nothing happend and the battery was almost empty. Maybe I lost? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
@moony-91 Everything is fine, that's how it should be.
A very atmospheric project — the sense of isolation really comes through. The opening sequence reminded me of Kerbal Space Program. Great job!
Realy solid entry, grat vibe, loved the cutscene at the start. I had a little trouble finding the way to the beacon but i got it. after i got to the beacon i was waiting for something but nothing happend, it would be a grat oportunity to show like a sunset end cutscene, and one more think, I would like the camera controll be independent of movement but its just my preference, overall grat job!
@zastegnushka @planetary @ottobroccoli @sledzik Thank you for playing my game!
@planetary - I agree, a texture would have been nice. However, I would have had to draw it myself since I built everything from scratch, or rely on the engine's native features. - Yeah, I spent 3 hours on the splash screen, but it was worth it. - I made the terrain in a rush. I haven't worked with it much before, so I didn't fully understand how to make it behave the way I wanted. I had to figure it out on the fly. - Yes, I had some ideas for the stars—either generating them as separate objects with textures or creating a custom Skybox texture. I decided it was a low priority, though, as it wouldn't have changed much.
@sledzik I agree, it’s definitely missing an end screen.
Smooth gameplay and a good overall experience.
Neat game. Well done for a Jam. Music works well, it gets repedetive but for the short duration it is fine. The world had it's rough spots but a bit back and forth does wonders  I like the story a lot. It would be great to be able to look around with the mouse, while driving in another direction (e.g. move with WASD)
Made it to the beacon! I also went the other route and found the green antenna, the environmental storytelling. The regular storytelling is amazing in this game as well! It has a very cinematic feel, with the game title intro in space. Jade's death was kind of a storybeat highlight for me as well, I liked how Anastasia kept talking about Jade afterwards, rediscovering her importance after her early death really makes you go "oh so this wasn't just a nameless droid that randomly died in the beginning". There's also a sense of tension when Mars' battery doesn't fit and you kind of wonder if you can even reach the beacon with what's left. You can, but you don't know that in the moment, so the final ascend is really tense, I liked that. I never actually got stuck, there were some close calls, but I felt that wiggling the mouse left and right usually got me free somehow, I thought this was pretty solid actually. Mood-wise, I love how everything looks, it really sets the alone in space feel with the motor sfx chugging along, the sci-fi signal beeps and the spacy rock formations. Also the sfx were fun in this game, I noticed how they changed when you moved the camera closer to Sky, that was really cool, these spatial effects were awesome. Great job with this game, very well done!
Even with quite simple graphics you have captured a really nice mood! The initial camera work is a nice touch! I've managed to reach the beacon but I wish that the movement was a little bit quicker. Overall, great entry! :D
