Great project, like!

A samurai, a cowboy and a doctor stealing a train is quite a party setup. I like how the screenshot puts riders alongside the carriages, so the horses are part of the battlefield. Saving AP by resting sounds like a useful choice to have.

If you have a moment, I'd appreciate a rating on my latest game, [Robot Workshop](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/60/trashfight).

Simple idea done well. What was the purpose of sake though? AFAICT it just drained AP?

Screenshot 2026-10-22 005127.png This was pretty fun! Makes me want to replay Desperados III. Can imagine this expanded as a sort of story-based puzzle RPG game, similar to those old flash RPGs like Epic Battle Fantasy.

I liked the concept of the game but it was really difficult. Maybe I didn't fully understand the game but I used all the abilities correctly, reviving with the Sake, and attacking with the special attacks and whatnot, but I kept dying :(, which definitely made it less enjoyable I'd say. The music was an absolute banger though, so kudos to whoever did that.

@sarenei Hint for the Sake: Look at the target's HP & AP after it's administered by the doctor

@kash Sorry you had that experience. I'm not sure what you've tried, but I've found several different ways to beat the game. There is some randomness though and if you have a few misses in a row it can be hard to win. If you haven't tried it, perhaps try getting some of the characters on horseback as it can make them more effective. I've also found it's useful to keep the doctor one space (or less) away from the two fighters so they can be healed more easily. I totally agree about the music. Can't take credit for creating it, we found it on a royalty free music site (see the credits for details).

@onedozenbagels Ah I understand more. Overhealth is a nice mechanic too. I think a small and impactful change would be to add tooltips to each action. Maybe allow a free move each turn.

Cool entry! I had fun with this one. Plain but made very well. I struggled a little bit understanding distance, but I also really like the mechanic in general. Your positioning matters, so telegraphing abilities' distance I think would be a really nice QOL feature. Also maybe a bit more variety in attacks? Although I did like the special abilities, and thought they were done quite well, as well as the resting mechanic. It made each character have what felt like a pretty rounded out toolkit. I struggled using AP effectively. Often felt like I was just healing/autoattacking. But that wasn't a huge problem, as I did get to the end! The first try I ended up blowing up the ninja on accident very early on 😆 , and barely lost on round 15. The second time I was a bit more careful, and had a clean victory with everyone at full HP.

I also enjoyed the way horses would run off on their own once their riders fell off. I think that worked really well and clever with how the positioning worked in general. Overall, nice job!

really liked the concept! But I think need to be more polished. more SFX and feedback. but still, great job!

Hey, heads up, if you used music/sound effects that someone on your team didn't make, you're supposed to opt out of audio ratings.

tsaot 2026-10-28 02:21 ♥ 2

This is a great take on turn based combat. I didn't read the instructions, so I went in blind at first. It was easy enough to figure out, so great job there!

coda-highland 2026-10-28 02:27 ♥ 2

Not a bad game at all! Dynamite turned out to be a bit stronger than I expected, accidentally blew up my own posse. Oops. Interesting strategy concepts that had to go into it. Executed quite well.

I know I said that you should opt out of audio, but sound design still plays into people's overall experience of the game, so you definitely did a good job with it. Good choice of soundtrack, and the only SFX that didn't seem good to me was the galloping noise.

Cool game! Didn't take too long to grasp and was really enjoyable to play. Took me a few rounds to beat it but I made it with just one cowboy down. Screenshot from 2026-10-28 18-36-01.png

I'm getting a "TypeError: NetworkError when attempting to fetch resource." message and a black rectangle :( Both Chrome and Firefox.

@coda-highland Thanks for trying our game, and the feedback! We did attempt to opt out on audio. Here's what we see on our side. Can you share what it looks like on your end? Screenshot 2026-10-28 144913.png

Update: Nevermind, mystery solved! It was checked on the edit page, but not saved. Thanks for letting us know! It's all fixed now.

For me, the game was a bit challenging, but I liked the idea. I couldn’t keep up with healing everyone, and new cowboys would keep running in, so the game isn’t really for casual players, but I enjoyed it. I think I’ll try playing it for longer next time to build up my skills and complete it)

P.S. You can check out my game to exchange opinions

@comicsans Workin' now ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯ I'll play it and rate!

excitemike 2026-10-29 02:31 ♥ 0

The music is a super good fit and made it exciting! And the decisions were interesting even if afterwards I'm not sure I could have made it to 15 rounds even if I'd played better.
