My old-old-old browser can't handle this gameπππ
@Depression Ah, sorry, there's a windows download on itch.io also, we just forgot to add it to the Ludum Dare page.
I couldn't figure out where everything goes, but the style is coolβI like it.
I got stuck after pluging the...plugs. Overall, the mood is here and it seems fun.
Helping grandma get the TV working before her season finale is such a funny, relatable take on Old Tech. The wood-panelled television and chunky dials look great, and that frantic message from grandma gives the whole idea loads of character!
Lol, all these cursor changes are super funny. I saw the hand with the gun on the thumb, but I thought it was just an image. π
The first scene really reminded me of level switching in the Beavis and Butt-Head game on Sega Genesis. Same vibe. β€οΈ
@maxxxmax @kiddoo Check out this guide/hint sheet we've included if get stuck and wanna see the rest of the game! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/60/why-isnt-this-working/why-isnt-this-working-hintsguide
Bruhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh LOL like this is objectively hilarious and super creative, but holy guacamole, this game is absolutely incomprehensible πππππ. Even clicking is super frustrating. Oh man, I could give a detailed critique about a lot of little things like how I didn't realize the ants were behind glass so I could interact with them. That said, for a game jam game, this is pretty incredible. It's really goddam funny, but oh god was it frustrating πππ. LOL when I plugged in the plugs the "right way" I was like uhh what ππ Nice job. Can't wait to see this with a bit of UI love.
The vibe is really fun. The cursors are awesome reminded me of old point and click games.
Honestly loved the concept! The speed is a little slow, however!
@cody-usher Thank you for playing! That old point & click game feel was exactly what we were going for :)
Loved the aesthetics and the humorous vibe. The gameplay is quirky, satisfying, and very fun to mess around with. Great work!
@tanjou @estelgames @serendibity-efreet @avi @kiddoo @maxxxmax Thanks for playing y'all! We hope you all had as much fun as we did when making it!
interesting modules that may require some thought
This really has some cool ideas for minigames, really liked the laser puzzle! Grandmas do be doing this
Great job, gamerz
The scenario of trying to troubleshoot massive, vintage electronics is such a great premise. That frantic message from the granddaughter perfectly sets the tone and gives the whole little struggle real character!
Awesome game. Only sticking points were the dialog boxes being a bit slow, and remembering I could switch between items for the cursor.
Definitely give this game a try, it's worth your time! From the moment I started spanking that goblin, I already had a feeling something amazing was waiting at the end, fixing the tv just to watch that kind of show was totally worth it 10/10 for that alone! The graphics are great and the game keeps you interested until the end. You can tell the developers put a lot of effort into it. Overall, a really fun game and cool visuals. Great job!
Love the concept and the art style. The cursor disappearing during dialog was a little confusing but the game was still so fun and 100% worth a play.
The vibe is really fun. The cursors are awesome reminded me of old point and click games. Great job, your game is amazing!
I love the music mixed with the absurd sorta puzzles. Pulling out a gun to point at a child's toy is hilarious. Took me a minute to figure out that cursor could be changed with the mouse wheel. But besides that I found the puzzles were just the right amount of challenge.
A wild ride for sure! Love point and click puzzle solving. Admittedly, I used the guide a lot. I probably could have figured stuff out eventually? But I was very tired, so kind of jumped to the guide too quick when lost. Quite a lot of moving pieces on this one! Pretty good stuff. Maybe just a little more telegraphing what to do next, not even how to solve stuff, would have helped out a bunch. However, I can see where there was already so much stuff in the game, and know that there's only so much time in a single weekend. The ending is great! Super unique, you don't get to see stuff like that often in a game jam entry.... or honestly, anywhere. So... thanks for that! π Good job!
Fun concept. I had to really rack my brain right from the start because I didn't realize you could swap items by scrolling (I hadn't read the description). Also, at one point the whole screen turned red, and I just couldn't keep playing because of it - it was too painful.
The game was a very pleasant surprise, I really liked the vibe of browser games that I played as a child. It was a lot of fun and pleasant to play it. The video at the end is superbly funny, bravo!
Such a cool game! π I genuinely felt like an engineer trying to figure out why nothing was working. It even reminded me of my university days, struggling with Fourier problems and trying to make sense of everything. Who knew fixing Grandma's TV could bring back engineering school trauma? ππ€£ I love the idea of turning troubleshooting into a game, and it was really fun to experiment with the different components. Great job, team!
