nice this is a cool game. Surprisingly tough!

Couldn't switch languages on the web build and don't have a windows or mac, but had fun either way! Surprisingly tough, well-executed. Great job!

Sounds like an interesting idea, but I’ll need to read the gameplay explanation to understand how it works, haha.

SO cool! What fun idea! I wasn't able to change languages to English on web, either. It automatically escapes out of the browser window. Also at the end, the escape button no longer let me exit the window; and I couldn't figure out how to exit without pressing all the buttons that I couldn't read. That said, very cool idea! Great vibe. The disco drum sound effect for the middle/balanced card was a nice touch! Nice job!

很有趣的简单玩法加叙事的设计,音乐和音效真的很沉浸,UI设计不错。虽然我作为音游苦手很难通关吧,不过给我的体验是很棒的了。

@serendibity-efreet Thank you for your feedback, it showed me the areas I need to improve. I added a P pause to prevent conflicts with the key to exit full screen on the web page. Thank you for playing, this is the greatest recognition for me!

@b4ux1t3 Thanks for the feedback, I've now uploaded the Windows and Mac versions on GitHub to fill the gap.

Love the historical premise, punch cards and the 1890 census are a perfect fit for the theme, and the machine with all its dials looks great. For me the sorting itself felt like pure arithmetic under time pressure, though, and I was missing a reason to care about each card. Tying the cards to the people behind them, a story beat or a consequence for a wrong sort could turn the math into tension. A cool, well-researched idea!

What I really like about HOLLERITH is how naturally it turns the "Old Tech" theme into an actual game mechanic!

The idea of using historical punch-card technology as the foundation for a fast-paced sorting game is genuinely clever. The 4-3-2-1 weighting system seems simple at first, but having to make those calculations under increasing time pressure adds a surprisingly interesting layer of challenge.

I also love the attention to historical detail, especially the fact that the machinery and environment are drawn procedurally rather than relying on traditional sprites. It gives the project a distinctive identity.

This is exactly the kind of creative interpretation of a jam theme I enjoy seeing. A great concept that makes a forgotten piece of computing history feel interesting again. Really impressive work for such a short development window!

This is super fun! I found it hard to keep up but it's nicely polished

A census machine is an unusual thing to build a game around! I like the punch-card sorting idea.

Thanks for playing and experiencing the game. I'm a rhythm game fan myself, so I guess some of the later levels are indeed quite challenging. Even I spent some time getting through level eight. I wanted to bring a bit of challenge.

Also, if you're not very good at music games and have trouble experiencing all parts of the game, I’ve included cheat key combinations: Shift + P for all achievements, Alt + P to unlock all levels, and Ctrl + P to clear your save file. You can use these to check out the story and the later mind-blowing difficulty. But these might not work very well on the web version since they can conflict with browser shortcuts. @thoth @walk @peremily

Looking at the description, damn this is insane! I'll place a rating beforehand and I will certainly play it when I get.home and update my review. I love procedurally generated techniques in games. Also the punch card idea is quite original!

Straight forward gameplay, pressing ADS depending on where the icon is. It gets challenging the more you progress. Nice entry.

The focus on the 1890 census truly grounds the game in its historical setting. It's fascinating to see how perfectly the archaic punch-card technology is translated into a demanding and immersive challenge. Great job bringing such a forgotten piece of history to life!
