Hey @maxxxmax . Oleg from the trains game here. I want to say the the visuals and camera shakes are just beyond awesome. Have no idea how to make the game feels like this in such and short period of time, awesome job!
Nice one! The gameplay is neat, the visuals are great and I love your UI!
Really had a lot of fun with the gameplay! I already loved MINUTESCAPE and this one has so many cool ideas on top of that. Great job!
Peak VFX, the gameplay reminded me of Just Shapes and Beats for some reason lol
Never knew the power of godot until i played your game, insanely good graphics and matches with the music!
Pretty nice overall, but I sense a lot of AI in all of that and in your comments under other peoples' game... Sadly
@slyz I’m providing a quick overview in the comments, so it might be a bit superficial. The AI in the game certainly helped with the code and shader code.
@eklsn Yes, while I was working on this game, I kept thinking about Just Shapes and Beats))
The visuals are stunning and dynamic, reminiscent of Soviet oscilloscopes; the gameplay is similar to Under Tail, but in a new interpretation with its own quirks.
This games really cool. One thing is that I feel the screen malfunctioning mechanic is just kinda annoying. It's there for like half a second until you vanish it away and it doesn't really provide any challenge other than pressing the button fast. The bosses also all feel pretty similar. But the visuals are really nice same for the music.
Love the FX the screen shake and everything would make this an awesome arcade game. I imagine some big light-up buttons you had to mash on an arcade machine would be a blast.
My highscore is a bit weak though :D
Super stylish game, both visually and audio-wise. I only managed to beat the second level on my 3rd try. I just couldn't get used to the Q ability resetting when you dash. 😄
Overall, super addictive. Great job! ❤️
Completed and liked it! "Disc room" game vibes, very good, even forgot to shop in the middle and jumped straight to the next level. Polished to perfection. I can sense AI too (effects and graphics feel a bit plasticky and overloaded), but heck, that was fun!
Wow! This is very polished, great work! I love the bloom!
Awesome, your game is magnificent! I had a blast playing it, really cool stuff!
The whole game has such a cool vibe! It’s so hard, but so much fun!
Cool style. Great job! It was harder than I thought (last boss killed me twice)
Impressive level of polish with all of the visual and sound fx!
Impressive! I love the huge amount of effects on screen and the attention to detail.
There are a couple of small things that could make the game even better. Sometimes the character gets lost among all those effects. Also, for some reason you can move with WASD in the tutorial, but not in the actual game.
That looks really cool, reminded me of JSaB or Afterbeat (aka Project Arrhythmia), loved it
Very stylish! A short, fun little game. I especially liked how naturally the mechanics are introduced!
Cool flashy bullet hell with really good audio design!
Cool game, real easy to get into. More would be good :)
cool concept! visually it reminds me tetris effect and I love it
Pretty fun, it was a bit confusing that the tutorial let me use WASD but the game was only arrow keys, the mechanics are interesting and give a different pace to the game! The art is simple but it all fits together nicely and the music and sound effects are good too, nice job ^^
One of my favorites! Really solid idea and such a polished implementation. The boss lock-breaking mechanic is kinda too hard for me, though
A stylish, high-energy bullet hell that makes the failing CRT part of the challenge. Repairing screen sectors while dodging attacks is a great hook, and the visuals and synth soundtrack are fantastic. Clearer controls and less visual clutter would make it even better!
the game is fun. Me personally don't like to much glow but it's fine.
You were not kidding about it ramping up, I had a good time with this
@whalejam @tweekus Thanks for playing and the kind words! Yeah, that WASD in the tutorial is a total bug :D I kept tweaking and redesigning the controls to make the gameplay feel right, so some leftover inputs slipped through to the final build. Appreciate the feedback!
Very fun time. Looks great, the music is pretty awesome and the overall feel is good. The screen blackout mechanic is super inspired. Small issue I ran into, WASD worked in the tutorial but once in the game I was forced to switch to arrow keys. Overall very neat entry, good job.
@rat-balls Thank you so much! Super happy to hear you enjoyed the blackout mechanic and the vibe. And haha yep, that WASD bug is definitely haunting me in the comments :D Thanks for switching to the arrows and giving the game a shot!
Great! Good progression and pacing. It felt challenging but not frustrating. As another reviewer said, it was weird that WASD worked in the tutorial but not the levels. Hit detection with the red blocks could be a little better.
The game has a distinctive style, feels great to play, and has some nice visual effects. However, the controls felt a bit unintuitive to me, with quite a few keys to keep track of.
Really fun. Having multiple things in parallel to focus on definitely increased my enjoyment of the game. Felt like i was constantly struggling to keep up in the beginning, but felt so good after a while when things became second nature and I could just naturally do it without thinking. Cool concept!
Woah, the visual juice and style of this game is ridiculous. I absolutely love the level of polish, and it's all the more impressive you've managed to achieve it in such a short time... Trianglus was a scrub who never stood a chance, but Squaresley blew me to pieces and humbled me as a human being. I was going to say "Amazing work from your team!!" only to realize it was a solo effort. Most impressive game of the jam so far!!
Yeah I love the juice here. Amazing job. The mechanics are great and everything works so well. GREAT job.
My reflexes definetly arn't good enough for this game) Visual style is soo good and well polished, i love effects, only the screen shaking was a bit annoying. And all these mechanics are connected very harmoniously.
Wowww, the game was really fun !! The game is really polished, the visuals are really good, the music is awesome, the gameplay is fun ! (The only downside I see is that the controls are a bit confusing, it is hard to press Q, the number keys and arrow keys at the same time because the three are in different regions of the keyboard)
I really enjoyed the game :)
Really cool game! The visual style is amazing, and all the effects fit the synth music perfectly. I especially like the idea of fighting inside a broken CRT monitor and having to repair its sectors while dodging all the attacks. It makes the gameplay feel really chaotic in a good way))
The game gets pretty intense really fast, but that's part of the fun! There's a lot going on, and the different mechanics work together really well. Awesome job with the visuals, music, and overall polish, especially for a 72-hour jam. Good luck!))
undertale yo
Cool stressful stuff ! I like the music, the gameplay is heavy stress based, my brain has some lag on what to do at multiple points 😄
Well polish and juicy 👍
The VFX and intensity here are absolutely incredible! Blending Just Shapes & Beats style dodging with an overheating analog terminal is such a sick concept. Multitasking between dodging the laser barrages and keeping the CRT sectors alive with 1–4 feels so frantic and satisfying. The neon glow and music sync in Godot look phenomenal! Left full ratings across the board! If you have a minute later to check out more jam projects, we’d love if you took a look at our game Meow Bomb as well. Best of luck with the jam!
Nah bro... this game is not great, **IT IS AWESOME!!!** Visuals are at their peak (way better than I can do), audio gives the great vibe, gameplay is way better than expected.
Tutorial is well handled, every action is presented and puts the player into performing it. Very cool, that's a extra point!
Gameplay: after doing the tutorial, the first boss was swiftly eliminated. You presented the energy balls (using Q key), then I noticed on 2nd boss that can't do damage anymore... After I use those energy boss I managed to defeat it. The time I spent I got so much money that I maxed out all 3 upgrades. Then I got captured between chains, luckily we have the shockwave (using W key), defeating 3rd boss was easy. I thought this is over, but NO... the final final boss was a challenge, it took me like 10-15 minutes to defeat him, since the whole map was a total anarchy, my only thing was... just to survive! 😂 Luckily, I did this in one attempt the final boss, but I can say that my hands kinda hurt after intensively spamming arrows, space and 1-4 keys. About the other actions: the sectors being offline sometimes and manually turning them off adds another difficulty; temperature seems to be immortal after maxing it out, I got a ton of damage in the final round and didn't even reach critical level. One extra thing: the WASD bug was actually good... right hand for movement, left for 1-4, Q, W and space. I bet that playing with WASD I'd be literally fried! 🤣
Graphics: as I said, the visual are so enhanced! The contrast is so vibrant... I really like it. Plus, using the post processing effects is "Absolute Cinema!". Love it!
Audio: the music and SFX are incredible! They really sync and set the vibe even more when playing the secret boss.
That's a good entry! Really enjoyed playing your game, almost smashed my keyboard for the final boss. 😂
This game is the best I played this event, and you get a high rating from me! 😁
this looks like someone fed a crt monitor energy drinks and it somehow worked. dodging bullets while spamming 1-4 to keep the sectors alive is a great way to make the hardware feel like part of the fight. the vfx and camera shake are genuinely impressive for 72 hours. i did see people get stuck on the puzzles, which makes me curious how much of the game is combat vs puzzle. was the secret ending hard to find for playtesters?
Ok.. This is seriously cool. I have no idea what is going on but I enjoyed playing this. I am glad you had a little tutorial otherwise I wouldn't kow what to do. I like everything about it. The graphics are cool. I think the sounds and music are great. The game is an interesting take on the theme. Well done!!
Impressive amount of content / polish! (especially those death animations, holy!) I had a great time playing it - I did manage to beat the game with just a couple of the "Abilities" upgrades, so I'm actually no 100% on how the other upgrades felt/contributed~~ Amazing work overall!!
Really fun take on bullet hell, a fresh format I haven’t seen before! The tutorial is great: I got what to do within seconds and jumped straight into the action. I also love that it tests my multitasking, that’s a really interesting twist. The graphics are nice and the style is consistent throughout. Great job!
crazy work, stay hard ✌️
Amazing music and graphics, on top of that a level of polish you don't see on a jam game often. Good job!
Лютейший вайб Just Shapes & Beats, при этом с очень интересными механиками. Визуал и звук идеально сочетаются, крепкая работа.
Wow, so much features! I love the aesthetics (sound + colors). Really nice game
Игра очень понравилась, я в восторге. Процесс игры записал, будет интересно можешь посмотреть. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2913162390
