Hi, Your itch page is landingat a 404; Did you remember to publish the game on itch?
I think your project is still Draft in itch.io
AHHH CRUD! Lol thanks @sode and @tezza48 ! Even though I finished the game 8hrs early, it was 3AM my time, so I wasn't thinking straight lol. It was indeed on "Draft".
I enjoyed this game. It took a few tries to get used to the mechanics. I would recommend having the first couple levels be prebuilt easier layouts while the player familiarizes themselves with the mechanics. My first couple attempts started with bullets being immediately shot at me. Also having the difficulty increase by having enemies only shoot in a straight line, and then progressing to the tracking bullets in more difficult levels.
Couldn't get far. The random initialisation of levels game up too hard most of the time for starters.
A nice solid little entry! I only wish there would be an increase in difficulty over time, as well as a bit more level designs
This is hard. The following bullets are crazy! A nice one!:)
In one level I found a bug where you couldn't kill your enemies, it seems that i was in a different depth
@aplite , @mdotedot , @firellon , @mudlee and @ccglp : thanks for the comments and suggestions everyone!
Yea! If I decide to work more on the game in the future ill def try to work on the difficulty of the enemies (and fix the bugs)
Just wondering: was the dash-bar that was on top of the screen intuitive? As in, did you realise that your dash depleted with repeated use?
For the difficulty ramping as the progress goes on: Maybe in the future, I can pull the first 5 floors from an "easy" category, and then after that pull the next few from the more difficult set of levels.
Thanks! These are great suggestions :)
Overall the gameplay is fun, but very unforgiving! The dash recharge timer was too long for my taste, and not obvious in the UI, so I was left feeling frustrated thinking the controls were busted trying to do quick combo moves. Otherwise the game feels complete and solid, great job!
Good use of post processing, The dash has good feedback with the trail which follows you.
The controls are a little fiddly when using a keyboard, I imagine with a controller it plays much more comfortably.
Good job!
@avi I noticed the bar quickly, but it would help if it was a little bigger to stand out more. It took a few tries before I noticed bar would slightly change colors when it was depleted. Making the bar go red may have helped it be more obvious.
Simple but fun game. I included it in my compilation video series of a bunch of LDJAM games! https://youtu.be/joQCxT9jLww
More fun than most LD entries I tried. Sometimes encountered a bug where I was no longer able to smash anything.
Go deeper and deeper with a dash super power! It's very hard but very enjoyable for me.
Fun little game, I think with some funky synth soundtrack and some SFX it could be great mindless fun. The color channel shift effect around the edges, but not around the middle is a great touch.
Well done!
At times the dash recharge felt long but overall was a very fun game. I like that the enemies do different things but it would also be cool if you visualized that too by having the cubes be different shades or colors.
The controls were on point and the dash mechanic was extremely satisfying. Great work!
I was unfortunately unable to run your game on the browser or downloading it. By the browser - No blue enemies on the first floor. Downloading - no dot exe.
