Love the faded-photo look and the little film canister!

teaminister 2026-10-20 01:27 ♥ 4

IT'S CRAZY GOOD! I love the artstyle, the idea, gameplay, music - it is a very, very, very awesome project. 5 stars to everything

shimmerscale 2026-10-20 11:36 ♥ 3

I was having such a hard time with that last level, then the solution turned out to be so simple! Really nice game with unique gameplay, love the graphics and audio. Kind of wish the player character didn't stick to the ground for a second after landing, but the platforming isn't really the main point so it's not a big deal. It's got some really good puzzle design in there too.

kwuwky 2026-10-20 11:57 ♥ 3

Very interesting idea, nice visuals, I liked it

dywanix 2026-10-20 11:58 ♥ 3

really fun game and such a cool idea!

designernap 2026-10-20 12:08 ♥ 3

Finished!! Stayed to play through all of this as it deserves it. What a great game. Excellent execution on the concept, looks wonderful and plays well. I love the little pause on landing as it give weight to the character and stops the game becoming too speed-platform / super meat boy. Wonderful and charming. Great stuff.

aterim 2026-10-20 12:23 ♥ 3

Everything is really well done, and the idea is great!

iris3dart 2026-10-20 14:19 ♥ 3

This is such a cute game! The mechanics are really cool, and the whole scenery is beautiful!

empeurman 2026-10-20 17:13 ♥ 3

Gameplay is quick to learn and sound is good. The characters expressions are conveyed even with little pixels.

I got stuck at the 3 photos part.

Good job !

stratcat66 2026-10-20 17:22 ♥ 3

This is really a phenomenal entry. I think I have not seen a mechanic like this before (reminds me a bit of "viewfinder"). And especially the long levels feel like a proper challenge.

doridie 2026-10-20 17:26 ♥ 3

Awesome game! The mini animations really made it for me. Very unique puzzles. Level 13 took me a long time because I kept trying a solution like the one from level 15. Challenging but not frustrating, really well done.

paul-maaswinkel 2026-10-20 20:03 ♥ 3

Really nice game! Great concept and execution. The last level took me a while to figure out! Loved the mood and music.

mk-dustan 2026-10-20 22:08 ♥ 3

I haven't finished the game yet, and so far the only complaint I have is that there won't be more levels when I finish 😄

avi 2026-10-20 23:26 ♥ 3

Came back to this as I was stuck on a level to play with my partner, and got stuck on the same level lol

Im sure we'll figure it out soon!! Great work :)

strega 2026-10-21 03:42 ♥ 2

Really great job with the mechanic design and lovely presentation. The pixel art is minimal while being very expressive. Amazing job!

neolog 2026-10-21 04:40 ♥ 2

One of the few jam games I play where I could genuinely mistake it for a full game with no modification. Obviously I'd love to see more, but I really love what you have here. I have no idea how you were able to somehow have the level progression feel good while still having each level thematically relate to the message, but everything about this game is so impressive.

pro4 2026-10-21 04:54 ♥ 2

Really loved the combination of everything together. Lovely story, pixel art aesthetic, music and puzzles. Really touching to feel the character's longing for their partner/dog/etc and you the player synchronizing with that struggle through the puzzles. Fantastic work.

crazy innovative, loved it!! and sooo cuteee art!

THIS IS JUST CRAZY, GUYS. I love it!1!!

pigeonic 2026-10-22 19:50 ♥ 2

It was really fun to play! Really cool concept! I got stuck on the level with four pics though T_T. Honestly a great entry!

mamboman 2026-10-22 20:44 ♥ 2

this is so nice! Very well done! I love everything about it! Great gameplay idea very well implemented

hagamosvideojuegos 2026-10-22 21:05 ♥ 2

Honestly, I think this is one of the best games I've played in the jam so far. I can hardly believe you managed to design so many levels in such a short amount of time, and have them all be so well crafted!

I'm still wondering whether I solved the final level the way it was intended, or if the whole point is that it can be solved in a different way from the previous ones. I don't want to give too much away, though, so other players can figure it out for themselves.

I've absolutely loved the experience overall. The music fits perfectly, and the pixel art, especially the characters and their animations, gives the game that wonderfully nostalgic Atari-era feel. Everything comes together really well, the puzzles are great, and the game feel is fantastic.

I don't have much else to say other than my sincerest congratulations! This is one of those games that, with more development time and a few additional mechanics, I'd buy without a second thought. Seriously, fantastic work! 📸

Very cool core mechanic, cute animations. The pacing is also well managed. Great job!

I liked how the last levels subverted the mechanics a bit ([spoilers]two keys and zero keys respectively[/spoilers])

Nothing else for me to say because this is very polished, except that I got curious: why the name "Fotoshu", does it mean something?

kultuk 2026-10-23 02:52 ♥ 0

It's just "Photo shoot" in a Japanese accent 😆😆

This is amazing!

OK, first of all, your level design is top tier. Because LD is so short, you don't have time to implement a lot of different mechanics, so you gotta do your best with two or three simple ones, but still make compelling levels, and you totally did. When I got past the first couple key levels I thought, heh, you could do two keys, and boom, you did. Then after that you did a level where you can't put the key in the door but you can just not put the door... you really thought through all the combinations of the mechanics you had, to get maximum level design potential. That's a real mark of quality.

Then, you packaged it up with great art, good audio, little animations (different ones!), a story, a nice UI... and then you spent time on playability, making sure it was easy to delete a photo, you can't get stuck on tiny bits of land, the camera movement is subtly quantized to avoid jank... it's all just so GOOD.

I'm giving you a lot of fives for this. Well done!

captandrey 2026-10-23 06:44 ♥ 3

Crazy good! The only thing I missed was some kind of level counter. After about 5 levels I wasn’t sure whether to keep playing right now: if I’m on the last one, I’d finish it, but if there are 10 more, I’d probably come back later.

artonix 2026-10-23 12:41 ♥ 2

I like this game, nice puzzle levels, I went through every of them. Game looks really polished. The only issue for me was a little bit of pixel-hunting in some puzzles. But overall the game is amazing, especially for a short jam!

coderaurus 2026-10-23 15:26 ♥ 2

Great game. I like the gameplay and relaxed mood with charming narrative. If anything, my ears were blown when starting the game.

Good work!

rend 2026-10-23 19:52 ♥ 2

Best entry I've played so far, the minimalist pixel art is super expressive and you nailed the character's animations. The mechanic is clever and the puzzle progression is well thought through, it feels like a mix between Storyteller and Splitter Critter. Impressive!

digital-bacon 2026-10-23 20:44 ♥ 2

An absolutely beautiful game with an intriguing mechanic. I'm lost for words, but this is easily one of the best jam games I've played in a very long time. Excellent work -- very well done!

andriybyelikov 2026-10-25 01:13 ♥ 1

Perfect entry. I liked the fake bait move on the last level. I must ask, how did you make sure that the levels were solvable in one way and not another? Did you use an algorithm to validate the levels or did you simply test them manually? Also is it possible to get the standalone OST for this game?

dracco-0n 2026-10-25 08:44 ♥ 1

From every perspective I can think of, this game is pretty much perfect. It somehow reminds me of Fez. and I'm super curious abt how you design these levels as well :)

Супер, отличная работа. Сложно мило и очень интересно)

euler-moises 2026-10-26 02:41 ♥ 0

Without a doubt, one of the coolest games in LD60. I thought it was fantastic.

The concept is sensational, the execution is great, and the level design, graphics, and music (along with the sound effects) are all very well done! It’s a wonderful take on the theme and a trip down memory lane to the time when I used to work with my father, photographing and filming weddings. I really miss the days of film cameras.

If I had to find something to criticize, I’d only come up with one thing: there aren’t more levels! :) I would have loved to spend a few more hours solving these photography-based puzzles.

I played it, my children played it after me, and we all loved it.

And from now on, this game will be a part of my personal history, as I happened to be playing it at the very moment the election results were decided here in Brazil—when President Lula was re-elected, defeating the fascist candidate.

Thank you so much for such an excellent experience.

Long live democracy.

brusi 2026-10-26 19:46 ♥ 2

Hi @andriybyelikov, When building the levels I tried to put the constraints built in the level (e.g. if the finish line is near the top "edge", and counting the distance between elements, to make sure that they are together in the photo). Then I and other team members tried to "break" it and find unintended solutions (or ones with less photos than specified). When breaking the level worked, we refined the level to prevent it.

No automated algorithm, though I'm a big fan of those - For Prickle (another game we did in the past in Ludum dare that became a full Steam game), we built an 'auto-solver' that would find solutions to a level and make sure there is no way to bypass the intended puzzle. If we make it into a full game, I will definitely enjoy making one for it :)

Soundtrack is by @fkeyz, tagging him in case they want to share where they stand on sharing the soundtack :)

Seriously loving the pastel palette and simplistic yet expressive animations. Giant +rep for such expression at 8x8. I do have to point out that some animations overstay their welcome, though. Solid entry
