Really nice game, very dynamic but also pretty hard, maybe too fast for me but the idea / gameplay is very interesting even if it's counter intuitive, nice job !

Liked this game ! A bit difficult at the beginning but then, I learned to not use the gun and only gravitation field, and it becames more playable

malte-hedenstrom 2024-04-16 20:23

cool game, the whole experience felt very polished and it was fun to play, good work!

alldee 2024-04-16 20:27

Getting to grips with the game is a little tricky at first, but you get the hang of it! On the other hand, the game's atmosphere is really cool and chill! :D

Great submission! A perfect example of taking a simple concept and executing it well. Got addicted to blowing up asteroids and zooming around the map.

Overall awesome work!

Unique... and challenging! Nice graphics and audio. Solid entry... congrats!

In the style of Asteroids, but with different mechanics and pretty graphics... it brings back fond memories. Despite the game's description of invoking bombs or gravitational fields, I'm having trouble getting a feel for the Summoming theme. In any case, great work!

Fun little entry! Nice little spin on Asteroids that felt pretty polished both mechanically and visually. I found myself using the bombs a lot more than the gravitational field and I managed to get the game to lag a ton by placing maybe an excessive amount of them haha. Good job with this one!

Cool game with an interesting and tricky gameplay, and a solid game feel. It was fun figuring out how to best use bombs and gravitiy fields to move around. Bombs are a lot easier to handle and it would be nice to have more incentive to use te gravity fields somehow.

In any case congrats on delivering!

I like the idea of the game!)

moebiusmeow 2024-04-19 07:22

I really like the design where players can play the game with one single button.

Solid gameplay, clear visuals and a rhythmic soundtrack. Together these make it a small but polished game. Nice entry!

The arts and the music are very cool, the game is a bit hard far from the theme I think but this is a good entry :) well done

Thanks all for trying it!

Haha yes, agreed, we ended up steering away from the theme.

I think we ended up having to do this to end up with something actually playable towards the end (our initial ideas may have been too *fancy*)

Do folks have suggestions for project scope management/suggestions for how to actually come up with nice gameplay ideas given the theme?

My team spent a solid three hours trying to figure out a way to make a game based on the theme, and ended up with this being the idea. partially because we thought it would be easy to implement (it was the first game jam for the majority of my team, and I didn't want to overwhelm them)

Most. Awesome. Explosions. Ever.

skyeward 2024-04-21 16:53

Super clean game - it looks great and trying to direct something by creating gravitational pull is challenging and fun

tucan 2024-04-22 03:43

I found it hilarious that the art is from the Godot demos and the first thing I saw when loading it was the Unity splash haha! The game is very enjoyable and the music is very nice! Once you figure out the mechanics it feels really nice to fly around blasting asteroids! Good job! Have a great jam!

courtneylapin 2024-04-22 23:46

Not bad! visually appealing and fun. Gameplay feels a little too easy for my tastes. I can just keep running thru asteroids and not worry about it since I heal at each satellite. The performance is a little rough too, explosions give me frame drops, and by the time I got to around 40 points, the entire game was running slower. Regardless, I had fun, good job!

crocidb 2024-04-26 12:36

Such a nice cute short game! Simple, fun, very well polished and nice music. Great job! :)

I didn’t understand how to normally control the ship through gravitational fields, but I saw that the explosion pushes the ship away, if I understood correctly, and if you press in a row directly below you, you can not take damage and calmly play. I personally would simply not move ship from the explosion, and then at least it would be possible to use gravitational fields and not knock down your direction vector with explosions. And I think that the game could definitely be optimized, otherwise you can feel dropdown framerate from just 7-8 particles. But the game looks juicy and pleasant.
