It’s simple, but very beautiful... However, I found it frustrating that the timing for releasing the button wasn’t more forgiving; even when I had the right combination, I sometimes had to start over because I released it either too early or too late.
Thanks for putting the HTML 5 logo. Made me click the game right away.
The art style is amazing. 5/5
Very curiously entry, great job! Really liked the artstyle!
I enjoyed the minimalist art style. I wasn't as much of a fan of the brute forcing required to solve the levels. I don't know if I just missed it, but I would have liked to see or have some additional mechanic for figuring out which order the pins were in other than just trial and error.
Figuring out the correct solution was a bit painful! Too much trial and error? Lockpicking minigames usually help you with visual or aditive cues (and your visuals are GOOD!) I really wanted to finish this entry, but couldn't get past the first lock :'(
Beautiful artwork. So minimal and yet so expressive. The music was also great. It kept me working on the puzzles until I solved them. Great work.
I like the line art style! It is trial and error but once you understand where the pins should be aligned (top of the pin to the second line from the top) it gets less frustrating and is just about trying again and remembering the order that works.
I finished the game. The lockpicking mechanic is definitely better than the one in Oblivion 😏 Overall, it’s a very pleasant and polished game with a stylish look and a melancholic story. At first I thought the melody playing in the background was tied to the sequence of pins, but it seems it isn’t
The gameplay was pretty tedious. Since incorrect tumblers move at a different speed I was hoping I could maybe "test" them by pushing on them once but even a light touch would reset the entire lock. The story started out ok but mostly repeated itself with each new level. The pretty line art should redeem this but even *that* repeats itself: the "winning" graphic of the grandma smiling is the same as the one used to introduce the character at the start.
I think this would be made much better by simply removing all but the last level and condensing the little per-level story snippets into a sentence or two that get the point across. Having the grandma frown in the first pic might also be enough to make the smiling grandma pic at the end more rewarding.
Hi fellow grandma game maker! I finally finished the game. It's not difficult, just tedious. I think writing some instructions on how to align the pins would help (for anyone reading, you want to align the top edge of the rectangle shape to the 2nd line from the top, in the right order) because I was just mashing buttons for a while trying to figure that out. But the style and mood of the game kinda make up for it. Very sweet.
