I love these bag building games. Artstyle and items where pretty cool. I was wondering how a re-roll mechanic in the shop would influence the game. I can see it making the game too easy, but it would also reward getting a lot of (purple) money, maybe?

@morris Good thinking right there! Re-roll was on our list but we wanted at least for now to rely on some randomness and taking the chances when they raise. Thanks for playing!

Love the artstyle, game idea is cool too. Maybe a times two speed for the scoring could be a nice thing to have ?
Until day 15 I thought, I had to close my retro tech gallery for good. But then, I got offered some fantastic vinyl players. No matter the modern alternatives, good old tech will survive! On that fateful final day, the arrangement had been perfected. With three of these exquisite machines, no wonder my reputation went through the roof and therefore, my gallery got awarded the three stars it deserved. Other exhibit highlights were the joystick and the boom box. All time classics and therefore must haves in any good retro tech gallery :). Great game :).

Such a fitting idea for the theme of this jam. Very fancy artwork, matches very well. I liked the different synergies and effects that items had on each other. Everything is incredibly well polished. Great work, congratulations on your entry :).

it takes a second to get, but it still was a fun experience

@saphi We were thinking slower solving to make events clearer with separate speed up opportunity. But it was left to backlog. Thanks for playing!
Nice place to be in. But I didn't get it. I had the feeling that my actions had absolutely no impact on the final result, so I finished 20 days and lost. The game felt like a gacha. But it's still nice place to be in because of music and visuals. Literally a gallery.

@robin-schmitz I would loved to see you playing the game while talking aloud through those moments and thoughts! Thanks for playing!

@chick-chirick I'm feeling disappointed that we were not able to give you the moments of success. Still big thanks for playing and giving it a chance!

@robin-schmitz Oh, just noticed the screenshot evidences and you were saved by the bell as it was last day of the Gallery! Congrats!

Fun little engine building, push your luck sort of game. I'm a bit surprised how much I liked it considering there's both input (shop) and output (displaying items) randomness with very little mitigation. Is it possible for three starred items to never appear in the shop? My first three displayed items on day 20 were starred after trying for it for three days, I wonder if that was luck or a sneakily programmed certainty 😛

@nathmate We left it in hands of Randomness so no sneaky business here! Overall we hoped player to have enough control to not burn the gallery and still manage to survive and taking the chances when they come. Big thanks for playing!

Hey this is a nice game! I like the drawing style! I was really unlucky with the fire!

Won on day 14! God bless those fire extinguishers. I like your art, the music is nice and suiting - well done!

Fun game, beat it on my second try! The graphics are really nice. The mix of heat management and the two currencies works well. Fire felt a bit punishing at first, and the randomness can get intense, but it adds to the tension.
Overall I had fun spending time with it. Heavily reminds me of Party House from UFO50, except the shop is randomised. I think the randomness is interesting, but it felt like I wasn't able to buy many starred items until very late, because they refused to show until then (I still won but felt tight).
I found myself focusing quickly on generating cash (or circles?), as they seemed somewhat rare to generate per card.
Surprisingly fun game given the randomness. Really liked the art style and simplicity. Got three stars on day 18!

@mem0 Retro tech gallery is indeed highly flammable business but I'm glad you found a way around it. Thanks for checking it out!

@boxofcuriosity I think you have a sharp eye. The core draw mechanic idea came from party house and other bag drawing board games. We wanted to give both resources interesting ways to spend them and hopefully it at least partly worked. Thanks you so much for playing!

@landosystems In game jams especially we value the simplicity with some interesting decisions mixed in. I'm glad your gallery found the success!

@kiddoo I'm blushing now. Yes, some more ways for the player to control the randomness could be fair. Now it is focusing on seeing the opportunities as they come to make gallery business bloom. Thank you for playing!

Wish I could remove items from those I bought to play with chance, but I guess you had a good reason for not allowing it! Weird game in a good sense!

@notnasiul Yes, at least for this version no card removal as it is one thing more to balance when you think about buying new items. Thank you for playing!
a deckbuilder about keeping a retro tech gallery alive is such a fun pitch, and the bag building twist fits it better than a normal card shop ever could. the items and the artstyle have a lot of charm too, i kept wanting to see what the next day would bring. how did you balance the randomness so the shop still feels fair? really charming little game.

@perrarancino To be honest we left randomness and forgiveness of 20 days deadline handle it. It felt in our testing to be enough to build the bag towards successful Gallery with this amount of content. With more strict time limit and more content it would require more balancing acts for sure. Thanks for playing and kind words!
Won on day 15! This was super polished, all the interactions felt very nice. Really nicely done.

Concept is good and fits the theme nicely. The music and visuals emphasize the old tech era well. I wish you could do some sort of manipulation for either your inventory and/or order of items. Now it felt kind of like playing a lottery. Maybe you win, maybe you don't. I had to play three runs in order to win and I'm still not convinced of my contribution to it.
Good work!

@coderaurus Fair feedback! Drawing from the deck is of course pretty random so big part of the game is the deck building phase. Still more ways to control and affect the gameplay are on our wishlist too.

Cool concept! I quite liked the visual style! At the start, I was a bit confused why a lot is down to randomness but quickly realized it's a risk management game. After a few tries, I sadly couldn't keep the gallery afloat (I'd probably be a terrible manager I suppose).
I see that the player needs to carefully choose what to buy, very cool, but so many mechanics are handed over to randomness, and a very brutal fire mechanic, it feels like the player has little choice. Maybe the extinguisher should be user-triggered? Maybe you can drop a tech item for an e-waste fee?
tykki19
2026-10-24 10:23 ♥ 0
@marks Yes, especially at this point it was left a quite a bit for the randomness with some risk taking and deck understanding. Especially with longer game time more deck manipulation ways would be needed.
We have also started to think that a little bit more player control could be ok, for example the use of the fire extinguisher.
I really like your thematic idea of an e-waste fee!
Big thanks for playing and accurate feedback!

Cool game! The concept is very clever and well designed. The responsiveness of the UI makes it for a very enjoyable experience, the game really feels very polished! The sound design is very well chosen to work well with the art and overall vibe. Is very interesting how the things work together and created synergies, I loved to abuse of the free tapes to maximize my earnings through the thing that rewards you for every fire! :) Overall is a very interesting entry, I had a lot of fun playing with it. Thank you for the game! 😃
