game is not loading for me 😢
@lady is it stuck during loading or not loading at all? I've tried a couple browsers and devices and didn't have any issue.
I was really expecting to kill the zoombies with my super power muscle car lol. instead they did this to me lol

Funny concept, with some powerups to allow more mayhem would be great. btw nice car sounds
@velvetlobster they can pin you down quickly. It started out unintended that the zombies could pin your car down but I decided to keep it in as it allows them to fight back. They slowly attack your car and drain your health till it explodes.
If you're not driving fast enough the zombies can block your movements, but as soon as you're up to speed it's bye bye zombies.
Thanks for playing!
@velvetlobster definitely wanted to add in power ups as well as different types of vehicles but spent a disproportionate amount of time on getting procedurally generated cities to work nicely.
The upside is I can easily change the city size to generate ones like below (but good luck delivering packages )

Wow, nice work. I love how I start different each time. Sometimes it's pretty hard to get started depending on how many guys are right nearby. Gives me the feel of Carmageddon.
@rjdrag Thanks for playing!
Yeah you can get mobbed early and it can ruin the run. It used to spawn zombies on the same starting grid as the vehicle but that instantly ruined the run as you couldn't move so I stopped zombies from spawning on the same grid.
Might be worth extending it out so no zombies spawn in the adjacent grids as well to allow you to get up to speed first.
It took me many attempts before I spawned somewhere I could get enough momentum without getting stuck on anything, but once I managed that, mowing down zombies felt very satisfying! I'm really impressed that you managed to make a solid map generator in such a short time.
@tetrapteryx there's definitely some clipping issues that I came across on some of the models that ruin your momentum. Would also be worth adding in a menu to restart without having to wait for the car to blow up or refreshing the page.
I really enjoyed creating the map generator, and it's super rewarding to be able to do generate massive maps. Definitely something I can re-use for any grid based games.
As long as you avoid the cracks in the road it can be a great time smashing zombies in a red Camaro. I think a little quicker acceleration on the car would make the experience a bit better. I really want to pound the gas pedal and crash into some undead evil demons but it feels like I can't quite get super fast, quick enough. Overall the graphics look really sweet, I like the zombie and car designs, the car drives pretty well, but it could be faster/snappier.
@claybro2021 thanks for the feedback! Agreed on making the car a bit quicker to accelrate so you can get some momentum going. I could also add a bit more torque/power and allow for the car to push the zombies back rather than it getting pushed and trapped.
Pretty fun! I liked the feel of the game, and the graphics look great! It was a bit frustrating how easily the zombies could pin you, especially since sometimes they would completely prevent you from moving and you just had to wait to die, but other than that nicely done!
Fun concept with good controls. The zombies were frustrating on spawn, a reset scene button would have been nice to play the odds of getting a fun start. Great idea and fun concept!
@adam-gallina @partysquadmember Thanks for playing!
Agreed on being able to quickly cycle starts if the zombies keep hoarding and pinning down the car.
There's some impressive tech here for such a short jam! I love the car physics and the dynamic map generation. Ragdolls are a really nice touch, too. I like the mixture of delivery and survival objectives. The tire marks when drifting are a neat little detail. If you happen to add more to a post-jam version, I'd love to see the zombie impacts slow you down a bit so you can't hit too many in a row without coming to a stop.
Also I really like the building designs with the boarded-up windows and second/third levels with a lot of vertical design and neat visual flair. That would be fun to see you expand your idea to the point where you might have to get out on foot and using the ladders/stairs to deliver something to an upper floor of certain builds. Great job on your jam entry!
@chompdev that's a great idea on having to get out to make deliveries possibly to higher levels, opens up a whole new set of environment interactions as well. Thanks for playing!
i don't know why bro, but its a bit lagging here
@pralista any specific time or just in general?
idk if that the gameplay or lagging coz in general, driving control become heavy
I wish to play desktop version of this game to avoid issues with performance in the browser version. The concept of the game looks fun, but getting stuck in zombies and obstacles are not fun.
@yaroslav-kravtsov I've added in an apocalyptic_pizza.zip file for windows that you can download :)
I've also updated the zombie collision so they dont trap the car immediately
Love the art style and ragdoll physics, could be a good base for a mobile game.
@quanta-studios thanks for playing! Good call on making it into a mobile game, could be really fun!
@hatheus thank you for downloadable version. It plays better for me. But now I see another thing to improve. Cracks on the road can be hide by tall buildings so it is easy to stuck in a crack and be blocked by zombies around.

@yaroslav-kravtsov That's a good call out. I tried to make it so the building go transparent when they cover the car but maybe I could expand it out a bit more. Or even just removing the road cracks, or make it easier to get out of them.
This was a really good game. I love the setting, the car, the physics, everything! The driving is smooth and killing zombies is really satisfying. like the idea that you are spawned at different places each time, that's a great touch and it makes you want to play the game again and again.
There was couple of instances when I glitches in walls, through zombies, and things like that, but I guess that's normal for a game made in one weekend.
I also got this funny "bug". I think the numbers should be the other way around :)

They are... carrying my car ????

It is frustrating cause the game is really fun until the car is stuck somewhere.
A restart button would have been good. To not have to wait to be killed by zombies.
The game looks good. Good job !
It was pretty fun at first, but I had a lot of issues getting stuck on terrain and not being able to get unstuck.
I a little bit buggy but a fun game. I was sieged by many mummies and could not drive my car anymore.
For a muscle car this one has terrible acceleration. I think you got ripped off, buddy!
In all seriousness, technically this is a very impressive entry! Once you got the momentum going it was very fun mowing down the zombies. Unfortunately, the fun was usually short-lived as there were quite a few obstacles hiding behind the buildings. Some obstacles were very hard to see through the faded-out buildings.
What a polished game for a LD! On FF, the framed version didn't load (even after a while), but I think it's coming from Unity export, and I could play on my office computer with Chrome. Also, as said by previous comments: • a reset button would be great, especially when you manage to stuck yourself in a way that the zombies can't reach/kill you and reload the page is the only way to retry • end game counts are inverted (pizzas delivered <> zombies killed) Make a good map generator (and with so much details!) in so few time is very impressive, and if the gameplay is a little difficult to master at first time, it's playable and fun with little practice, so: good job and well done!
@iluvatar you're right those numbers are swapped around! Would have been impressive to deliver 38 pizzas and only managed to kill just two zombies. Yeah there's a few clipping issues in the game, definitely something that can be fixed with more time.
@pndaa I have not seen the zombie carry the car before  maybe they can make the deliveries for you :pizza:
Yep a quick restart would make a big difference to the game.
@hermanlejter will definitely make sure to improve the clipping issues. Thanks for playing!
@zhiteng-chen got to try and out run the zombies so they don't seige you, but once they get you you're a gonner. COuld also maybe make it faster to die, cause one zombie trapping you is annoying and takes a long time to kill.
@juutis yeah the acceleration is pretty bad on the car, definitely need to take it back to the dealer and ask for an upgrade!
Would making the building even more transparent be better? Or increasing the radius of buildings that are made transparent?
@lereveur Hadn't come across the fullscreen issue, might be something with the export settings.
* Definitely agreed on a reset button, even I just end up refreshing as it's too long to wait and you often clip something or get caught by the zombies.
* Count are inverted, forgot to check that.
Making the map generator was really fun! It's a nice reusable piece of code that I can use for other grid based projects.
Thanks for playing!
Funny concept, and the art direction is really good. But, I feel like the camera not following the car makes the game harder in a way that isn't fun. I feel like the game is wanting me to quickly whip around the city killing all the zombies in my way, but often I miss my turn and get pinned to a building by a zombie :(
@jacobingalls Do you think having the camera directly behind the car would be a better approach? Or even inside the car?
I think outside of the car loosely trailing the car so that it isn't nauseating. NFS-like would be what I personally would want, but that might not actually be best for the feeling you wanted to make. Inside the car could show the gruesome details of your zombie slaughter (if you made the practical systems make rigid bodies that stick to the car/road. But that would also be gross... I think having the camera behind could have let you go faster and still see the pretty city.
@jacobingalls kind of like this?

Yeah! Something like that!
It definitely makes it a ton easier to avoid clipping the broken roads, or edges of buildings. Thanks for the great feedback!
Game is good but it's really frustrating a lot of the times because it's really easy to get stuck in cracks and get pinned by zombies. Usually one little mistake will cost the game and with no way to restart I ended up having to exit and open the game like 10 times before I was able to deliver 1 pizza. The theme fits pretty well and I like the setting, zombie apocalypse is going on but people still want their pizzas lol. The procedural generation is unique and really impressive, great job there. It's just some more play-testing and understanding how easy it is to get stuck and lose would've been nice, giving the player a way to comeback from their mistakes and not die when they make 1 is pretty important unless you're looking to make one of those rage games.
Overall, the game has a great idea and it fits the theme pretty well, but the actual gameplay and fun of the game is lacking, delivering that 1 pizza after so many failed tries was satisfying but I don't think I would play the game for too long if 1 tiny mistake meant losing. I'd suggest changing the way the car moves so that it can move out of cracks and with bodies under it, and give it a way to build speed while being surrounded by zombies.
@stellarr2 thanks for playing and thanks for the great feedback.
The game definitely does punish you for making small mistakes, I should make it that the cracks slow down but don't get the car stuck and ruin the game. As well as allowing for greater acceleration to help you get out of any game ending situations.
Love that we weren't the only game where you can smash some zombies with your car! Really cool!
