A nice idea and I enjoyed what I managed to play. Unfortunately about 5 minutes in the game started to lag quite badly and crashed my whole computer :O
Aside from that I really enjoyed my time playing your game :)
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD53 → Pizza Survivors

Here's a pro tip: if you turn around quickly while using the cheese whip, you can make it attack in the same direction consistently.
Awesome use of ECS here! I love Vampire Survivors, and my game is using Bevy :) Highly recommend it.
Also, love your YT channel!
@aschab That's the pro gamer strat right there!!
@neo97 Thanks, glad you enjoyed! That's great to hear, I'll check your game out for sure!
Cheese whip is best weapon especially when you get 2. Neat bullet hell game. Good job.
No too much on theme ! Still had fun, but man, those pepperoni, I swear they're purposefully shooting where there are no monsters. So yeah I lost, but I blame it all on the damn pepperoni.
edit: Oh I wanted to add that I experienced some small hiccups in frame rate towards the start of the game. Strangely enough it went away after a while.
@paul-avallone the Cheese whip is OP 😁
@carkh thanks for playing! You're a pizza delivery guy soooo.... kinda hahah
And yeah not sure what those frame drops are about, I was seeing those on my machine too

Gotta say, why spend coins on anything other than the masterful Cheese Whip. At level four I think you can survive anything. And I was kind of thinking at :30s left "wow this was actually kind of easy" and then wham. nice, Mr. Cheese saved me though I was able to make an opening.
One of the the thing that makes the axes useful in VS is that they fall back down, so even if they go off in a wild direction, at least they are going to be going vaguely downward so you can line up a shot. Like @carkh said, it didn't feel like it ever hit anything. I'm sure it did, but spending my first point in the game on it made me loose once there were enemies all around me.
Fun game. Reminds me a lot of those auto-attack mobile games. And that is a big compliment. They are very addictive and fun to play.
The different weapon types were cool. The random direction pepperoni one felt a bit underwhelming though and using that first it quickly became apparent that was a terrible idea. The other two weapons work well though.
Some music or sound effects for hitting enemies would've made it even more satisfying.
A game written in Bevy! I like it! :D I have had it book marked for a while but never jumped into it.
This game was pretty fun! I really enjoyed running around picking up weapons and attacking them :D ahahah
Gameplay was smooth and I didn't have any issues with the controls :)
This was a really fun game. I think you nailed down what makes vampire survivor great, and I say that as a really good thing.
Was missing some SFX, but I guess that is a time constraint form the game jam. Also, I don't think it fits the theme much ... but to be fair, I think it is much better for it to be a fun game, like it is :P
Great game! Very funny and challenging! I didn't manage to beat it, but almost did... However I've lost 1 upgrade because I've selected again a perk which was already at its max...
Enjoyed the game and especially the trying out the different weapons - those encouraged to play multiple times and trying out some strategies. The movement was a bit laggy and hard for me and it crashed two times when I lost. I didn't manage to get through, but I liked the overall concept  Thank you for this contribution.
Very cool use of ECS. Great Job.
