The audio slaps and it was a lot of fun once I figured out what the keys were. I think I shot gift boxes at the first enemy I saw without realising.

Really impressed, this is so sick! I was initially a bit confused about what I was supposed to do, but once I figured it out it was really fun! This feels like it would be a great multiplayer game, especially if you could expand/upgrade your train. Feels similar to Guns of Icarus Online ngl. Good stuff!
I spent the first round killing every drone in sight before realising I was meant to be delivering packages to some of them. Really well done on the ui/graphics/music.
@ruruie @torculus @hatheus Thanks! Yeah, we were under so much time pressure this go around we couldn't get around to tutorializing the start of the game. We'll have to update the game page to show how to play!
@torculus Haha we built a bunch of underlying systems for upgrading+expanding the train (hence why the train expands in later levels), just didn't have enough time to put together an upgrade UI :frowning2:
I like steampunk and i like the steampunk quadrocopter
This game is incredible! I love the graphics
Very cool! I definitely did not take enough time to read the instructions and was a bit confused at first, I tried to use the mail gun as a normal gun and wasted all of my packages trying to destroy pirates. I loved the art, but I'm a sucker for voxels, ultimately this was surprisingly deep and I think you accomplished a great level of detail for such a short time. Very solid entry, nice work!
This game is very well made. It's UI especially is really pretty. The graphics ingame are good but I feel like the sky around the train needs a little more detail but thats a nitpick. I do think this game needs a tutorial, even if it's a really basic one. Overall, pretty and creative game :)
Very well made, fun! Difficulty ramps up from level 1 to 2 way too much and I would love to have spent the money on upgrades but otherwise, excellent work!
Great idea and awesome game, wish you a good jam
Your previous games were also very fun!
Have an amazing day! monkey.gif
My first trip was a wash since I thought the mail gun was a minigun, haha. Fired all my packages into the abyss and just happened to deliver ONE on accident. I am thoroughly impressed by this entry. I loved the soundtrack and the visuals. The game felt very complete. I had a couple minor gripes. I think the bullets should be more visible and more audible. Currently it's more like gentle rain. I'd also love some sort of A/B/C/F ranking system for clearing a level because I never got ALL the packages delivered, but I felt pretty good about several runs and, despite getting the victory screen, I didn't get a lot of feedback for success. But that's the nature of a jam! Ranks would have had me going straight back in for more to beat my score.
Really fun! After I realized you had to select different packages to deliver, it became a whole new game. At one point I had to just start destroying all of the ships with the mini gun haha.
With a small tutorial this would be a near perfect entry. Good job.
I love the concept ! If the game continues to be developed, it would be handy to have crew members to give orders to as well as an indication of the current state of the structure. And the possibility to upgrade the train with the money earned.
The concept is interesting - quite polished for a jam game and definitely a fun. It misses some kind of shop/upgrades after each level.
First time around I didn't realize I'm throwing packages overboard ... yeah ...
This is a very solid entry - great job!
I was a bit confused at first trying to determined what vessels were good or bad (but the color coding helps a lot of course) and what cannons shot packages or bullets. I also missed a bit of emphasis on the audio feedback on the bullets. Overall it was a bit hard for me but the game is well though and well made, congratulations!
Really interesting take on the theme. I didn't really understand what was going at first and more could be done for tutorials or instructions, but it's a really challenging and engaging gameplay loop.
The game is interesting, but the difficulty may need to be adjusted, or an upgrade system could be added. Starting with some easier levels to serve as a transition could also be helpful.
Wow, pretty surprised that it looks polished for a Jam gam, congrats.
As other players said, it needs a little tutorial/indication of controls because at first we don't know what's going on and how it works xD
But when you know how to play the game is amazing, very fun and polished, great job!
One of the most polished games I've seen on this LD. The gameplay is not bad, but I did not really understand what the point of simply increasing the train is if the player does not accelerate and does not develop in any way.
Hard to get at first, but the setting is interesting.
I really enjoy the controls, but wish the character moved a bit faster. The speed at which enemy ships arrive seems a bit overwhelming, even in the first level. The mechanics here are very solid, shoot different package types at target vessels, repair damage, use gun turrets for enemies. Would love to have had a sound for ships getting shot down. The music was pleasant and matched the game quite well. Nice work. :)
the game is interesting in terms of mechanics but quite hard to play because of the simple fact that the turrets are far away and the least is fatal...
Very cool! I loved the concept and the aesthetics. I'm a sucker for steampunk
The game is fun to play and fun to replay as well. You managed to heap quite a bit of polish on it in such a short time! There are a few improvements I could suggest: - The captain could be moving faster as the train grows. Maybe he could be moving faster overall, as things get out of hand pretty quickly, and you feel like you don't really have the tools to deal with that. - In my haste, I often got stuck on the walls trying to go from cart to cart. Maybe removing those tiny side walls would not be such a bad thing. - The difficulty jump between level 1 and 2 is pretty big (in the amount of different packages and the amount of incoming enemies). Some gentler curve would be nice. - Repairing broken parts could also be faster as the difficulty rises. Or maybe the captain could get a repair steam-powered robot helper that could do repairs for him
Overall, I enjoyed the game a lot. Some balancing would make it superb! But isn't balancing exactly what all leave n the chopping block during the jam

You had a very fun game, I really liked it, well done!
