LD53 — Delivery

The Overlooker by Geckoo1337 2023-05-09T08:47:06Z

It began overwhelming me a little bit at day five but I guess that's kind of the point! Great aesthetics, and your story adds to the experience.

On a technical note, the clock didn't seem to stop for me and I never reached a fail state?

Nice project overall, congratulations!

Delivery Bros by farfadet46 2023-05-02T10:55:58Z

Hi! Don't apologize, the mere fact that you published it is already a great accomplishment :) I found the first part a bit easy and unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to make the second part work, I'm stuck in the "neighborhood overview" scene. I do, however, love that it's a two-part game and I think it fits the theme very well. Congratulations!

Stork inc. by Ntimi 2023-05-03T14:34:17Z

Hi! I had fun, the gameplay loop is simple but effective and the intro was charming, beautiful and generaly super well made! (I also smiled at the fact that both our game include a grandparent letting us in charge of the delivery office) On a technical note, I found myself trying to select my birds right as they delivered the babies and had to wait until they were not under the "parent" sprite anymore, although it might be by design? Nice work overall!

Bad News Network by ZeAntwan 2023-05-02T11:07:09Z

Hi! I really like the concept and the execution is very well done, it feels nice to play. I found it hard to grasp the consequences of my actions, maybe I missed some feedback for every "category" of people to satisfy? It also ended up just putting a bit of everything in the queue as it seemed to work well. Great job overall, congratulations!

Fangs and Fury by Rodrigo DenĂºbila 2023-05-09T09:59:37Z

Hi! The gameplay is a bit simple but the game works well and the graphics and chara design are nice, congratulations!

After Curfew by machinescreen 2023-05-02T10:14:03Z

Hi! Nice mood and art, it seemed well-balanced for me and the spatial audio helps a lot. Couldn't find the delivery point unfortunately :/ Good job!

Delivery Doggo by Bitzawolf 2023-05-09T10:07:45Z

Hi! As others have pointed out, for a platformer it's super important that moving and jumping work fine and having to wait to get to the right height before pressing right is a bit annoying.

The doggo and its animations are really nice, congratulations!

AWOOoooo! Delivering your soul to the forest... .. . . . . Or Not.!? by INCD021 2023-05-02T10:24:13Z

I sadly didn't stick around for long when I understood there was little I could do to avoid dying except replaying it over and over, but liked the low-budget aesthetics, congrats on doing this in a single day!

The Clockwork Express by dxk2294 2023-05-09T08:34:23Z

I was a bit confused at first trying to determined what vessels were good or bad (but the color coding helps a lot of course) and what cannons shot packages or bullets. I also missed a bit of emphasis on the audio feedback on the bullets. Overall it was a bit hard for me but the game is well though and well made, congratulations!

Lame Duck Delivery Service! by zxeno 2023-05-03T14:23:05Z

Hi! I tried playing your game on my monitor (4k, 200% windows zoom) but the intro text and the space stations UI was really tiny and barely usable at this resolution unfortunately... I couldn't get very far but your game looks nice, the controls work well, and I loved your presentation <3 Congratulations, welcome back ;)

Beelivery by Jejkobb 2023-05-02T11:28:46Z

Your game is AWESOME <3

Let me get the tiny "not perfect" things out of the way: - In the ending scene on an ultrawide monitor the base unity scene shows at the edges of the screen - The first horizontal tree could be a bit lower to ease our way a bit more into this kind of challenge

Now, everything else is incredibly good: the 2D drawings and animations are lovely, the game is both super intuitive, challenging, balanced, innovative and beautiful. The "going over obstacles" mechanic is very neat: seems impossible at first but then it clicks and you start swinging your jar around, taking more risks.

...and then there's the end song <3 Incredible job, best game I've played so far in the jam!

Artifact by Untitled Studios 2023-05-09T09:15:28Z

Wow, you've really got something here!

To be fair I don't think it really fits the theme but it's a very neat puzzle game. The art is beautiful (even if the differences between artifacts/targets/swappers could be more clear), the puzzles are well designed, the difficulty curve is well crafted, and it's suuuuper juicy!

Excellent work and huge potential for a full release, congratulations!

Peculiar Parcel Pioneers by svdvorak 2023-05-09T10:16:05Z

Hi! I missed an overall goal to keep me from wandering around, and I found the text a bit too long and missing spacing, paragraphs, etc. but the general ideas seems nice.

The artwork and especially the music and sound design are really well made, congratulations!

Delivery Expedition by filgreen3 2023-05-02T10:48:51Z

Hi! Really nice art and mood, I also struggled with the camera controls and I found the fact that it follows the character's jump slightly nauseating. I would also have liked to be able to have a "next level" button instead of going back to the title screen but that's just nitpicking. Great job overall, the game is very well finished!

Lern Island Letters by Andori_Paic 2023-06-22T08:17:07Z

Hi all! Thanks for playing our game and all your support  We just published a post-jam version based on your feedback, including:

- Added sound and custom music (@tomtomgome @miraculousmelon @flying-butter-studio @patatenouille @aloya @initialposition) - Improved visuals - Added a different weather every day - Added UI feedback on cursors - Added accessibility feature (hold right-click to switch fonts to a simpler one) (@luxiffre) - Added easter egg :bulb:

Delivery Boy by ZOMBIEBUST3R 2023-05-03T14:12:54Z

Hi! As others pointed out, the controls are both unusual and interesting. The challenge was a bit hard for my taste and skill (I died very quickly multiple time) but the game design is nice, I like the fact that you have to first ask people what they want and try to optimize. On a technical note, the webgl version stays gray for me, and the downloaded one is displayed in a reaaaally small window (4K screen + 200% windows zoom). Well done overall!

Cozy Crane Master by Dender46 2023-05-02T10:19:14Z

Hi! I feel like not having to rise/lower the hook in order to play was both more efficient and less interesting...I guess I optimized the fun away. Overall it work well though and the art is nice, good job!

Cat Delivery by Nathramn 2023-05-09T10:23:55Z

Did I come to play as a cat only to find that I'm feeding them to monsters? Maybe. Who knows.

As for constructive criticism, I played on a keyboard (not sure if there are gamepad controls anyway?) and it made crossing planks a bit frustrating sometimes. If traversal is not your core mechanic your level design could benefit from having planks aligned to one of the main axes of a diagonal maybe?

Aside from that the game is nice, great art, even greater sound effects! Congratulations

Final Delivery by PatateNouille 2023-05-03T14:02:20Z

Hi! Playing it on speakers I had a bit of a hard time managing volume to keep the music low enough and the dialogues high enough. It's a minor thing but it made understanding the voices difficult for me. It felt that the things you have to do to progress are a bit random but it's very interesting getting to know the people in the building, the visuals are great (especially the wide framing and 2D clues on top), the animations are greats and it controls quite nicely. Well done!

Our First Story by Donamougou 2023-05-03T16:23:36Z

Hi! That was unexpected but I had a great time :) It's really well done, and the different small mechanics for the different phases are great.

Maybe the camera shake at the end of every stage could be slightly lowered?

Great work!

To: Tony by miraculousMelon 2023-05-03T15:44:53Z

Hi! First, it was fun seeing the similarities between your game and ours, I think you might also like it :)

Great experience overall, nice mix between gameplay and general story/mood. Everything is very well done and the ending left me wanting for more.

Congratulations to all of you!

Postpony by Kii Krindar 2023-05-03T13:34:25Z

Hi! I played for a few levels and it's been pretty relaxing. While simple, the art and music work well and I liked the pony theme :) There were some of the packages I couldn't properly sort and I would have liked a bit more feedback to see what I did wrong. Congratulations!

O.W.L. - Owls with luggage by Pentaworks 2023-05-09T09:03:11Z

Hi! The controls felt quite clunky to me but the idea is interesting and refreshing. I also liked the music a lot, the only thing missing really is an owl to see or pet! ;)

Congratulations overall!

Neiro by DanielShershnev2Game1 2023-05-03T15:29:27Z

Hi! I must admit that I quit pretty early on, I managed to get past the first falling block only to fail repeatedly on the second one, with little incentive to keep trying. Congratulations anyway on the art style and the mere fact that you released a finished game :)

Cow Heist: Space Delivery Mission by mrScom 2023-05-03T16:30:41Z

Hi! First almost a side note, you might want to slightly rephrase your game presentation, it took me a few tries to understand if I was playing the alien or the people on earth before launching the game.

On a technical standpoint, opening the rules trigger an error and the hitboxes feel very punitive at times so I had a hard time getting points (but I'll admit I'm not very good at it).

I liked the theme and the cartoon intro! Congratulations

E.G.A.D.S. by floralvikings 2023-05-02T14:07:32Z

Hi! Great little game, it was sometimes a bit laggy on my PC and the rock throwing enemies felt a bit too random, but the drawings are very nice and refreshing, it generally plays wells, and I had a good laugh on the end screen. Overall very nice, congratulations!

Package Quest: AI Adventure by mathead 2023-05-09T08:26:54Z

Hi! I started by trying to find the recipients' locations but they kept changing, so I just started chatting with them and it had a nice time, well done. A refreshing experience :)

railless! by lethargic 2023-05-02T09:41:24Z

Hi! I really liked the idea, the art is lovely and drifting is a lot of fun. I'm not used to this kind of controls so it was really hard for me and I only managed to do a few levels. On a practical side, having a reminder to hit space to go to the next level would be helpful. Nice job overall!

Tiny Tube Stories by Flying Butter Studio 2023-05-03T15:22:15Z

Hi! I'm a bit sad, I really wanted to play and enjoy your game, it's really my kind of thing (and we also did a narrative game around letters). I however couldn't even send the first one, one tube to the bottom right flat doesn't seem to work, and I couldn't manage to send it to any other one. I put my rating on hold for now because I would really like to try, would you mind sending me on the right path?

Postman by DuKe.ua 2023-05-02T10:34:57Z

Hi! Your game is beautiful, the art is nice, the lighting is nice (and there's a cat, you got me there...). The only two things I wish would be different would be to be more tolerant when going off road (maybe slow down on the curb and stop on grass?) and to display the direction in game space (not in the minimap). I get that it's part of what makes it challenging but I ended up looking more at the minimap than the actual game, which I found sad because it's really pretty to look at (and because I kept crashing). Great work overall, congratulations!

Out of Time by Benjamin Gearig 2023-05-09T08:55:42Z

Hi! I get that this is only the skeleton of your game but congratulations on publishing something at the end of the deadline :)

If you were to keep working on it the only thing I could be constructive about is the direction arrow, which in my opinion suffers from the pixelation, on some directions it's barely readable.

HOTARU - Guider of Souls by SkuLLyY 2023-05-03T15:59:17Z

Hi! I played a little and got stuck at the moving platform: since you have no point of reference (platform dropped and background is too far away) and you can't stay on the right I could never get the right timing.

In general it feels like you couldn't really decide what the core of your game was (2.5D feel and level design but 3D movement, click spam, etc.) but overall everything is quite well done and gorgeous to look at!

Congratulations!

The last help by Linkway 2023-05-03T14:42:36Z

Hi! The controls and camera made navigating a bit hard for me and I didn't get to the end, but I liked the writing and the character art a lot! Congratulations!

Milky Way Dispatch by iggy lonely 2023-05-03T13:46:03Z

Great introduction at the start, I didn't really like the controls even though the space theme makes the "floatiness" relevant. I was a bit confused by the fact that can jump in the air but not switch gravity in the air. Overall it felt like a pretty standard platformer to me, but the original idea is fun and I can't congratulate you enough for including accessibility options (even if they are a bit hidden), very nice!

Project Spirit by Naive Games 2023-05-02T13:58:53Z

Hi! Even if it's not very polished as a "game", it's a great idea for an interactive experience. Very cool concept, congratulations!

Fetch Quest. A small text adventure by Patrick Abernathy 2023-05-03T14:57:32Z

Hi! I'm not used to text adventures so I might be too much of a noob here but I found it difficult to get commands recognized, I tried a lot of things but couldn't get very far...I managed to get lost in the woods though, so technically I did get to an end ^^ Congratulations anyway!

Parcel Trouble by DominikaM33 2023-05-02T11:36:00Z

Hi! I have never used this engine but if technically possible it would be really great if you could upload an executable version of the game :)

Love Letters by matthewrf 2023-05-03T16:09:10Z

Hi! I felt that the game was a bit hard to control, especially when jumping up close to a platform. The art was very charming though :)

Congratulations on your first game!

Post it! by Mallok Studio 2023-05-09T09:27:44Z

Yay, a fellow french game about a french postman sorting french letters \o/ You should check out ours too ;)

It's a bit low on the gameplay side (even if it ramps up for regions), but everything is well made and polished. The only two minor bugs I encountered were the placement of the menu elements when playing on a 21/9 screen and the "next" button on the last level being displayed but not working (for obvious reasons that I discovered when returning to the title screen.

Congratulations from Lyon (and Lern Island, Brittany)!
