Nice work with the moody lighting, and the sound effects , especially when the skeleton lands ( even if it sounds like a bag of wet leather ) .

If you develop more beyond the jam, it'd be cool if you started as a 'whole' skeleton, or person, then gradually lost limbs/flesh etc. Like a "I gotta deliver this package dead or alive"

Really fun "Getting Over It" style game! Took me a while to figure out the controls, but once I did I had a lot of fun. I didn't end up beating it because it is very difficult, but that's ok for this kind of game.

This was actually a plan for the game but I couldn't do that because of time constraints lol.

I had initially 3 ideas for the skeleton: * Your idea * One arm for the box * 2 arms

I decided with 2 arms because they make the skeleton flail about more and it makes the game more unfair >:)

This has been the most exquisite experience of my life. I have never felt so good playing this game it just hits on another level of good. All of you lower beings think that this game is just another generic game created by some dumbass in like 24 hours. This game has opened my third eye and I have never felt this enlightened in my life. I think different. I view the world differently. When I was born in 5000BC my parents told me that I will never be successful in life, but here I am, playing this magnificent game. All of you lower being don't understand what this game has opened for me, a different pathway, something that you just cant comprehend. The developer of this game must have been in direct contact with god when making this game, or he is even go himself. All of you sitting on your fat ass right now contributing nothing to society, just farting can contributing to global warming , you are worth nothing, but if you play this game, modern day society will because of you. This game is all you need in life. I give it a solid 100/5

ok

yeris 2023-05-02 08:02

Delivering a single package took me longer than doing my masters degree. Thank you, I hate it (aka good job on the rage part of the game).

exilon 2023-05-02 08:54

@yeris I'm glad my game is doing its work >:)

quinn-patrick 2023-05-02 12:06

This is a very strong game aesthetically, and I see the getting over it vibe you were going for. The sound design in particular is fantastic. As a rage game, though, I think it just isn't very hard on its own. It's really just having to start over all the time that stopped me from finishing it, actually making the deliveries is pretty easy once you understand the controls.

oscarglo 2023-05-02 12:29

This produces the intended effect, however I feel the game lacks the control that rage games typically have.

exilon 2023-05-02 12:40

@quinn-patrick

> It’s really just having to start over all the time that stopped me from finishing it

I agree with this. I was stuck on making the deaths reset everything or just bring you to a checkpoint but in the end, I decided on the first option due to time but also its undeniably frustrating as shit to lose that progress but yea. If I made more levels and continued working on the game, that's the first thing I would change.

naive-games 2023-05-02 14:47

Game look great!

ironcutter 2023-05-02 20:34

I will never finish it, but it looks and plays great. Good job!

mpk90 2023-05-02 21:02

I like the sound of the skeleton! I almost forgot how hard this game is.

jaxah 2023-05-03 16:26

This is raging difficult! Love it! Great art and sound design as well :)

svenerik 2023-05-03 16:54

Awesome game, with very nice aesthetics. Loved the challenging side of it a lot and the whole package was wonderful together, great work!

magus77 2023-05-03 17:52

the version in browser (brave) didn't work, couldn't click play. the download did :) rated and would love if you tried ours too

exilon 2023-05-03 17:54

Im fixing the HTML build right now

triangle-point 2023-05-03 18:14

Damn this game is good! Personally, I love rage games and this one hits the spot! The movement is fun and feels good, the level design is just annoying enough that it’s not too easy but not to hard! I haven’t finished it yet (been here an hour already), but I’ll be back to finish it! Fantastic game!

potkirland 2023-05-03 20:57

phewww. IT WAS A RUN! 3.32 here is my score!

mololo 2023-05-03 20:59

This game is fantastic, and you really nailed the theme. Even though it's hard, it's a lot of fun to try and finish it. Great job!

exilon 2023-05-03 21:02

@potkirland only took you a couple hundred attempts 🤣

I'll cry if this won't be a steam game ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYO3ZMnewKg

exilon 2023-05-04 13:28

@le-goss-du-net I'm calling cap on your win 🤣

matthewdrake 2023-05-04 15:53

The mood, lighting and audio was really great! Definitely ended up getting frustrated when I got to the tunnel and couldn't seem to progress, but that might just be me not understanding the genre. Managed to deliver one package though, so I feel accomplished despite it taking 5 or so attempts. Great work!

sephowepho 2023-05-04 16:08

Honestly, didn't get *quite* as frustrating as I thought I would, I didn't beat it, but I thought it was nearly as fun as it was annoying to me (). I love ragdolls so moving the guy around was just hilarious to me, after I learned that I could click near the ground to slide instead of jump, the game just became amusing (xD)! I wish there was a way for me to know how close I was to the end, but I almost got to *at least* two of them, so I can only hope that was good for my 15-20 minutes of trying. I might come back to this sometime to put my hand at beating it, but I've got some things to get done now, so I'll leave it for the time being. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

You nailed the classic *rage game aesthetic* it just blends in really well, you can tell at a glance what it's trying to do -- I would love to see this as a full game, even if I wouldn't be able to beat it, it just works that well. I've finished things like Getting Over It and such, so *mayyyyybe* with enough determination I'll overcome this obstacle all the same. Either way, LOVED it, great job! :beers:

0x01f0 2023-05-04 17:24

nice work!! I had fun playing this!

I really liked the mood and simple yet effective sound effects.

it was nice the when the music kicked in too. :)

perrin 2023-05-04 18:50

Enjoyed this. Controls are not quite as tight as some of the other foddian type games but there's a lot of fun to be had here still.

lomby 2023-05-04 20:34

Thanks for submitting your game on the stream! Here’s the stream if you wanted to re-watch initial thoughts (timestamps in the description to jump to your game!) [youtube link](youtu.be/urgNg4JO17M)

This game sucks. 5/5

kuviman 2023-05-05 09:40

This game rocks. 5/5

amarokczukay 2023-05-05 09:56

i love you and i hate you at the same time! the game itself is very good, i mean it's a perfect rage game, i love the ragdoll-ish physics, light is nice, sprites too, hats off! i was able to go to the 3rd delivery in about 2:20 min but i wasn't able to deliver it… i think i'll come back later when my nerves are soothed hehe

resacagames 2023-05-05 14:32

Love ragdoll games!! This one was hard though. Has a strong Getting over it vibe, luckily simpler. Nice job, had a lot of fun!! 👏👏

yellowkamel 2023-05-05 14:41

Thank you for submitting to my stream! After dying after the second package... I just did not have it in me anymore. Which means you succeeded in making me rage quit.

aurailus 2023-05-05 17:14

I'll admit that I'm not a fan of this genre of game, I think it's too punishing and frustrating. But I'll keep the review to how I feel it works mechanically, as I know it is a genre that people do enjoy. The skeleton's movement feels surprisingly snappy for a game like this, I would have expected more frustrating quirks to moving. The game felt as though it had a lot of straight stretches that just had to be spammed past, which wasn't the most satisfying. The tight corridors when you first go into the ceiling were kind of frustrating as well, as the skeleton would often get near-softlocked in the little one block rises. I like the mood and the art of the game, and I think that it could have been enhanced with music. It serves its purpose as a rage game, I did end up quitting after falling into the fire like five times in a row. I appreciated that there was no lengthy respawn sequence. For its genre, I think this is a solidly built game, so good job!

exilon 2023-05-05 22:22

@aurailus Thanks for the review! just wanted to mention that if your run lasts more than 1 minute, a brief piano piece plays. I can see how some people wouldn't want to consider that as music but I just wanted to let it be known. Also, the tight corners can be done quite quickly. My best time is 2 minutes 2 seconds and although the movement needed to go past the 1 block gaps can be very precise and spammy, you can get good at passing them but I've had a lot of practice so that may be unfair. If I do continue making this game, I will definitely try and lower the amount of those very tight corridors.

Frustrating game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 53 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. https://youtu.be/wY-Lotk5KuU
