It's really great game for the first one. The graphics reminded me some old games like Doom and Quake. (I know their themes are not like this one but style is same imo). Great job!

Lovely game, well done for such a short amount of time. Loved that you managed to make it 3D. Had a bit of a hard time finding the axe. I was trying to open up the houses and the things laying around the houses, but to no avail. Good job!
Gameplay feels nice. However, dumb as I may be, I didn't find the axe. Might put something in there to guide the player. (Can't open doors, right?)
I love the way this looks and when I saw the idle animation on that axe I was so happy. I drowned unfortunately but I love the "You Died" 'matter of fact' death message. It was a bit difficult to tell if I was doing things right (chopping trees and building the raft), and would've welcomed some audio cues for that.
@Lars-Erik thanks for comment, axe is near house(the doors do not open)
Cool graphics!
It's difficult to built a 3d game in such a short time! Well done! Once I found the axe, things went well!
Its a good game though a bit more instructions could have been nice i was a bit confused at the start. and also i would have enjoyed some music and sounds. for music i used a free program called bosca ceoil, and for sounds a a program called sfxr but overall... good job i had fun playing this.
Found the axe fairly quickly, but it took me a bit to 1. Find the raft and 2. Realize that you have to hold down E to build. Love how the water rises up gradually, could have used a notification of some kind to let the player know that the water is about to rise.' Nice work, especially for a first game!
Great job. Loved the graphics! There is something weird with the progress bar for building the raft, when I got close it kept jittering about.
@twinturbodouche @thoof @polarcube Thanks everyone! I just didn’t have time with sound, at the beginning of the project there were more ambitions
Cool! Sound and visual cues would be nice.
Really cool idea with environmentalism there buddy
Enjoyable game, would liked to have seen a water level meter, or even a way of saying get out you have 15 seconds! Found the ax easily enough. The raft I've yet to find in time.
I won! The graphics are amazing, I really loved the art style! Good job on the animations too. The axe even has a great cs:go like inspect animation haha. The progress bar on the raft is a bit glitchy I think, but that's just a small nitpick. I wish surviving global warming would be so easy :).
I actually liked the low resolution 3D aesthetic. I'm sure with more time you could fill the level with more details and make it really cool. Next step of developing this would be audio queues and particles on chop and when crafting. Good job for a first game!
I love the pixelate effect going on, though in the web build the camera shows a bit too for to the sides, and you see past the "screen" quad. Nice game!
I like the graphics and I kept drowning. Nice work.
Really good for a first attempt. I think that there may be something wrong with the field of view. Completed it on my third attempt
Pixelated 3d looks really nice. I would lower mouse sens a lot, or make a setting.
Nice game for a first time, almost everything was nice, but you probably should had made the terrain less flat so water couldn't just snap into existence below your feet..
@thejebforge when you start, you find yourself on the shore, the water reaches your starting place in 15-30 seconds at least, maybe you broke something?
Congrats for your first game and nice graphics ! Sorry I couldn't managed to find the axe anywhere on the island. The camera sensitivity was a bit too much for me.
Retro game, too bad it's too short!
@kerdelos Sorry for such an offense, next time I will definitely consider it.
Great take on such an important topic.. love the graphics design on this one. Really cool
I like the retro low res art style and well done on making it 3d considering that is your first game! Some stuff like having to build the raft isn't very obvious but well done! Nice message about global warming as well.
Really liked your game. The theme of global warming gonna get ya is really a nice touch. Didn't understand the raft building though but maybe that's me :D good job.
Only thing I have a gripe with as of now is the lack of indication how much wood you need to build the raft. That and maybe some kinda hint where to find the axe, cause i would've almost never thought of looking where I did.
It's funny how you die as soon as your soles touch the water, it's like "Oh no, a puddle" BOOM you're dead now. If it was up to me, I'd make the player die once their head (or camera I guess) is submerged.
nice game, gj.
I really like the pixelated style, I can't remember seeing any other unity games with this 3D pixelated screen look. Did you use a kind of camera shader to achieve the effect? It would be nice to know how much wood you need to build the raft though. I also liked the rising water, which snuck up on me because I was in a large flat-ish section of the map. :smile:
Ok. Took me 4 times to beat it. The main point is that it is not clear how much wood is needed for the raft. Overall it was fun to play!

oh, I believed that it would be interesting to someone. Тнапкs
Interesting and ambitious idea! I liked the idle (?) animation on the axe while I was trying to figure out how to build that raft. A tiny bit confusing to find the axe and build. Would have been even better with audio, even a very simple background sound. Congrats on the entry!
First game? That is just crazy, great job! It took me a few deaths to realize the water was rising an touching it meant death. I wasn't sure what to expect either, I thought it might be a joke where even if you gather all the wood you lose because where are you sailing to anyway? Nice job. I finally won :)
Great job, @odeyalko. It's interesting and simple. But it was hard to play with very high sensitivity :c
GJ @odeyalko! I uploaded my playtesting and code review of your game. I hope it will help you a bit. https://youtu.be/rpHggnbAeY0
@schwede Hello! Thank you very much game review! It took a lot of time to create an idea, initially in my head it was a little different. I realized that the main mistake was the lack of raft identification marks. Many people have not thought of this. I just physically did not manage to realize much, but this competition helped me, so I have been trying to do something for many years. During development, the game engine threw strange errors and had to redo animations several times (I liked the process of creating animations), a strange error also got into the build - like an ax is a child of the camera, but it somehow moves weirdly. I know about git, I didn’t want to bother. I am really ashamed, I have little programming experience and I wanted to finish the game without being stuck on the beauty of the code. Thank you so much for your feedback, in the future I will try to do better!
Cool little game!
I like the art style.(How did you do that?).
The idea of having to find the axe somehow gives the feeling of **progress between the tries**.So good job!
also: Could you opt-out yourself of audio? The game doesn't have any, does it?
also: @schwede : 15:50 No! it's not the same! Because of the else-statement.
@odeyalko There is nothing to be ashamed of! You did a very good job and you were very focused on your goal to accomplish this game in 48 hours. That is what counts! If you start to work a little bit on git you will notice how much power there is in this tool and if you train it a bit before starting the jam, you see that it will save a lot of time during development.
@nikita-demidov Thank you for the review of my video! Yes that's true its not really same, I admit my mistake there. :D The ``` timeBeforeAction -= Time.deltaTime ``` would execute every frame with my code. The alternative would have been to check if the ```timeBeforeAction >= 0``` would be true and then execute the else block with only ```Input.GetMouseButton(0)```. That would have been much clearer:
``` if (timeBeforeAction >= 0) { timeBeforeACtion -= Time.deltaTime; } else if(Input.GetMouseButton(0)) { ... } ```
Good job. Pretty well for first unity attemp. Keep on!
Congrats on the first game! Starting with a game jam is such a great way to gain some experience and feedback from the community. The art style is cool, but everything was super low res in the html5 build. You can increase the resolution in the game in the player settings. You also might want to watch some UI tutorials and hit detection tutorials to improve your systems. Overall though, great job!
@bip Hi, thanks for the feedback. This is not a html5 problem - it is such a lowresolution style (sort of called that).
not a bad game, the art style was super cool and the game was simple but it worked, nice to see you're taking a stand for the environment! i kinda wish the water didn't insta kill oyu when it touched you but jams are hard man. this is a really good first entry, i hope you had fun a and learned a lot =)!
