I like the voxel art, the controls feel a little slow. It would be cool if you had to balance your bike as an added challenge.

Nice work! I like the graphics!

Voxel art looks really nice, but the controls definitely felt sluggish and slow, also discovered that if you go off the map at the end without hitting the target area the game doesn't reset. My overall take the biggest problem is the controls, graphics were nice, voxels are always a plus for me! -Peter

Very charming art style and animation!! A bit difficult to control, but there's added fun in mastering it!

The graphics looked great, and the idea for the game was neat - but as others have said the control were a bit slow. Also don't know if it was a bug, but if your bike flips upside down (from jumping a car badly), you can continue to ride, just with your head sticking through the floor.

I think the three-quarter view perspective made it a little tricky to navigate the levels. But I understand why you used it.

The voxel art style has alot of character i like the night variations, alot like my other games The game is really really hard, and the controls are floaty Its a fun and great mechanic and has great potential

also found this funny bug lol

strange controls but great graphics and gameplay!

Nice entry!

I liked the voxel art and the amount of time that clearly went into the levels and environments. The three different "zones" all felt different, with different hazards and tricks to move around. The theme is amusing (time-traveling pizza boy) and fits the atmosphere of the game.

I have a couple small comments on the gameplay: - As others have said, the movement is a bit sluggish (particularly turning). Obviously this kind of game is about controlling your movement and momentum effectively, but I think it may have helped to make the turning a little bit more responsive since you have to dodge things with such precision. - I liked the isometric view, but it sometimes made it hard to line things up, particularly when jumping (and particularly with the girders in the construction level). The cyclist's shadow helped here, and I'm not sure what else you could have done, but it was a little bit of a pain point.

Other than that, the core gameplay was really solid. Dodging things correctly felt good, and you let the player restart early if it was clear you wouldn't make it in time (although I wish the "R" button worked on the game over screen as well). I particularly liked the bonus "PIZZA" letters hidden around the map. Were these originally going to unlock the night modes?

Music was pleasant, if a little short. It would have been nice to have other audio like car horns, pedestrian noises, and impacts when you jump and land, but obviously you can't do everything with 72 hours and a one-person team.

I drew the pizza guy and added them to the fan art compilation on [my profile](https://ldjam.com/users/jeremy-ryan/).

Thanks for making this, and good luck during the rest of play and rate!

@jeremy-ryan I love your drawing! I feel honored.

I think in hindsight I agree with the controls being a little sluggish. Everything is straight physics with very little manipulation of that, but that didn't really lend itself well to some of the tricky mobility needed for all the levels.

I think the art (and style) in this is pretty amazing. It took me a while to really "get" the mechanic around reversing time. I liked the extra challenge of getting all the letters (I thought it was required until I re-read the description) and the fact that you opened up all the levels. Nice work!

is this the new paper boy? Love voxel art ;)

dollcoded 2022-10-16 22:37

i love how it looks, and i thought the mechanic provided a really interesting gameplay loop. charming and also challenging. great game!

hawkin 2022-10-17 02:13

Love the concept! Reminded me of arcadey types, like Pro Skater. I had a great time playing!

Also, like has been pointed out, I found the physics hiccups sometimes funny (I finished the rest of the level like this!) Untitled.png

Loved the graphics. This motivates me to also learn to make pixel art. Curious how time consuming it is. I think the steering could have been responsive for me it felt to slow. Love the interpretation of the theme very well done.

jk5000 2022-10-17 13:50

I really like the idea, visuals and music. The controls is okay, but for me it gets a bit too floating and the level difficulty is a bit too high. But overall I like this game, and it is pretty well made. Well done.

dreamerflow 2022-10-21 22:38

Nice boxel art! fun game, I have a little slow the movement but I enjoy it, good mechanics, nice job!
