Assembler simulator

Simple concept, with awesome and clean execution!

dawnreaver 2022-10-07 20:54

Love the minimalist artstyle! The sound was also really supporting the theme of your game. Well done <3

frankey333 2022-10-07 20:59

I got a bit of a lag when loading bigger boards. Are they generated on the run (if yes, props to the generator, if not, props that you made so many :D )

really love the style and concept.

You guys really deserve more votes IMO. The game is awesome with an engaging puzzle mechanic. Could be nice if you include some more soft-lock when releasing the component. Anyway, I really like the concept and wish you guys good luck on this LD :)

Very nice. Well polished and the difficulty ramped up well. I managed to get to the 16th board. The audio works really well with the aesthetic. It could do with some other music in the menu though. I thought there wasn't a game over screen on my first playthrough as I guess it appeared as I pressed space skipping it instantly.

shaggyfox 2022-10-07 21:46

Thank you all for your feedback <3

@frankey333 THx, They are generated on the fly with a simplified wave-function-collapse-like algorithm

@someone XD jepp, the game-over screen was literally hacked into the game in the very last minutes of the jam

Nicely done, the subtle grid when moving stuff was appreciated! Although I did have a couple of times where I was a little hasty in dropping the parts :p Great generator for the boards, I didn't have any that looked weird!

Nice audio work and music - really fits the vibe

geckoo1337 2022-10-08 18:33

Good - really good with a nice gameplay which fits with the theme. The mechanics work well as expected - and after a while I was able to assembly quickly many boards and their components. A really good casual game. As they said above, you deserve more ratings. Thank you for this entry. I wish you the best ++

Very nice game mechanics, the controls feel super smooth and the snapping and tolerance are perfect! Visuals, sound and music do support the game well. GG!

Since you "earn" 10 seconds when you complete a piece, I think a feedback on this 10 seconds addition could be nice. Not necessary to understand the whole game though.

I was a bit surprised by the tiny connectors that have a side, and since it was new for me when I had two that could mistakenly be exchanged, I had a bad feeling of confusion (especially because I played so well on the previous pieces and now was defeated just because I did not take attention). Perhaps this situation (having 2 items interchangeable on the same piece) could be introduced sooner, or in a simpler situation (in which there would only be these two items)?

I don't know why ... but I'm pretty sure you use the WaveFunction colapse algo to generate you boards. Sooooo Nice !

douwe-ravers 2022-10-11 09:01

Nice game. Loved the music! Love electronics themed games.

rolly 2022-10-14 21:53

Made it to 14 on the 3rd attempt!

This is a surprisingly entertaining game, very good job! It only lacks someting to keep the player trying again, making them think that there's a way for them to do better. After 3 attempts, I feel like I optimized all my moves, and I don't see how to improve anymore.

The visuals are really well done! The robotic arm mechanism gives a really nice touch. And the music and all sound effects give it a very polished feeling.

Great entry!

Never knew that playing as a pick&place machine would be so much fun :D it's surprisingly engaging to match the components to their footprints! The music and sounds are great and visually it's solid as well, love those cursed traces in the PCBs! Here's my best attempt:

Got a score of 9. Really good game for a game jam. It was fast paced and fun. I did feel like the movement slid around more than I would have liked, but that didn't make the game unenjoyable. Good job!

lavamagmo 2022-10-17 14:47

Really nice game!

harrison-gowland 2022-10-18 09:46

i liked it! the puzzle mechanic was interesting and it was pretty compelling - i guess the only thing was the music started to get a little grating to me imo after a little while but it didn't really detract lol

I liked collecting boards :) Great game with an interesting idea. Good job!

robin49 2022-10-18 16:45

i made 12, it is a very good interpretation of the theme, congratulation for the result !
