The music and visuals is really good. The gameplay idea is pretty fun, and I had fun trying the game. But it's a bit difficult to place the plants where I want them. Overall a simple and pretty little jam game. Well done.
.exe file worked fine for me.
It looks great, and is super cute. The music is very calming, and I like the floating instructions. I liked the mechanic too, and I carefully built my plant staircase toward the floating checkpoint. Then I fell off at the final jump and rage-quit I'm afraid. It may be less punishing if you could survive a fall, at the start at least, and perhaps harvest your plants

@jk5000 That is a very good hint. In fact, the character plants the plants depending on which direction he is facing. It would have been better to plant the plants in the direction of the camera. Thanks for the tip!
@tompudding Yes, at first I also thought about leaving the plants. But it occurred to me, what happens if you put the plants in the wrong place and the level is blocked? That's why I decided to do a complete reset :)
Beautiful game, I love the character and the mood.
I think the gameplay could have been simplified a bit. There didn't seem to be a need to be careful with how I was spending seeds and water, I just loaded up on 100 of each. I think you probably could have given the player unlimited of both, and just really hone the platforming mechanics. Or, you could have honed the need to be really careful with how you're spending seeds and water by limiting how much of each you can carry.
It was a nice experience overall, I enjoyed it!

It looks cute and calm. The art style is great. But I had a problem with jumping. I tried many times to jump from the growing leaf to the near stone and every time I failed. However it looks nice for a game made in 48 hours.

@firebelley Hey, thank you very much for your feedback. I have thought about what you said. I think the logical thing would have been to set a load limit but that you can always refill at the sources. I'm now smarter in retrospect :D Thanks for your advice. At some point I was just programming blind.

@katamary sorry to hear that. Have you tried to increase the height of the plant?

@rakowu It wasn't obvious! But now I know it!) Thank you!
Nice game, especially loved the character design :) good work
Very chill, relaxing game. I liked the idea and for the most part the platforming felt good, although the slopes of both the rocks and plants felt very slippery and caused most of my falls. Growing the plants to make stairways is a really cool idea for a mechanic, and especially once I figured out that I could carry more then one seed and water (the drop getting bigger is a great visual) I had a very zen time climbing up to the top. I really liked the artistic style of the game, the character is great, and the music works well with it. The only issue I saw was with closing the game, there seems to be an exit button but no mouse cursor. Overall I really enjoyed this one, well done!

I really liked the mood of the game! And the message at the end of the game was heart warming :) During the gameplay I didn't realize that feeding the plant more water would make it grow higher (you could make this explicit, maybe I missed it). Furthermore, only after playing the game I realized you probably intended for the player to plant the seed only in the soil; I planted seed on top of other plants. planty.jpg

@lichtung In fact, I had this on my todo to check xD In the end, though, it went down. Now I am smarter, thank you :D @smilewood I'm glad you had fun. I have added your note to the page under control. Probably the counter at the bottom left goes down. You are more focused on the seed at the back. Next time I must not be so lazy and spawn all the ones on the back :D

woah, super cute and the message at the end is very wholesome.
It almost missed it as it was so above my head!
The mood is on point! Great work!

@whywhy Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you have fun with it :)
Beautiful style and mood, really ties it all together nicely! :) Took me a bit to figure out all the little mechanics to get the most out of it - but I ended up really enjoying it!
I like the artstyle a lot. Are they 3D scans put together or did you model them? It felt very smooth, the level was hard but if it was easy it would just be boring so.. nice job!

@douwe-ravers everything was modelled by hand, then i photographed the blueberries, nuts, sticks, trees etc. in the garden and made a texture out of it which i then applied to the 3d model :)
Cool !
Hey there!
Tried to play it, but probably my toaster (which is I using instead of normal computer) isn't capable to handle a reasonable FPS, which made my brain a little bit dizzy :sob:
From what I was able to observe anyway it's a good sound and visual design, it's very uncommon. Had a little bit of Grow vibes as well.
On a bitter side I don't think that restarting the game every fall (which for me were quite common due to fps) is a good idea, but maybe it feels better on normal PC.
Great work anyway!

Fantastically weird atmosphere, loved the mood you were able to capture. My only critique is the seed placement but that's already been discussed above. Once I placed via character pos everything was ezpz. Great game overall, nice job getting it done in time for the jam!
The game has a great look to it, I love the animation too. Impressive that you were able to make PBR materials and stuff for a compo entry! The movement was slightly frustrating and slidey but that may be part of the challenge. Nice work overall
Welp! That was a long and strange trip. Why am i a blueberry? Why am i progressing through the game? I wasn't sure until i saw the message and the flower at the end. At that point, i was even less sure.
Anywho! I saw the game was made by 1 person for compo which is very impressive! some small points of feedback i have: - make the rocks less slipery - ensure the player's feet are actually touching the ground visually - skip picking up water and seeds, if theres no limit, might as well let me used it in an unlimited fashion
I had a great time!

I love the nostalgia it brought to me! I remember when I was a kid and used to play A Bug's Life!

@argaf My wife told me exactly the same thing. I didn't even know the game xD I also had the idea that you could glide over air currents with a dandelion. But when I was done, she showed me the gameplay. They flies with a dandelion tooπ
π΅ Not sure if I should be frustrated or happy that I had the same idea as a big game. π

@erlioniel Sorry for making you dizzy :D I'm still new to unreal. I've been testing it for 1 month now and still have to learn how to optimise things. I would also have liked to do more postprocessing :)
@anguium Thank you :D Yes, I have learned something new. The order of perception in games
@josh-bothun Yes, I must confess I hadn't noticed that the stones were rough. You test so often that you are programming-blind and end up not warning about something so obvious. The platforms could have been a bit nicer xD
@blue-pin-studio i totally agree, i completely forgot about the feet among other things xD i noticed that when i recorded the gameplay video  And the reason for the blueberry?... xD I was making dinner for the kids and there was a shrivelled one that I thought was just too cool. So I thought I'd make a scarred blueberry head in Team Burton style xD End of logic. The message at the end is just "The road is stening and hard and we need to be there for our kids when they need us"

I like the idea, but I feel the controls, jumping in particular, are a little fiddly and lets the game down a bit. A little polish on the controls and this will be great. It gives me Grow Home and Blueberry Garden vibes. I enjoyed your visuals too.
Really interesting character design, very good!
The artstyle and the climbing gameplay really reminds me of Getting Over It
I really like character design, the twiggy acorn with a blueberry head is a very unique concept! I was a hoarder and loaded up on everything when I learned I could carry many seeds and water. The control and jumping felt solid to me, but I was missing some more audio feedback on the actions. The message at the end was heartwarming and felt like it fit well with the gameplay and mood created by the music. You delivered a great game!

That game has fantastic graphics and a chilly vibe. Planting seeds can sometimes be really tricky, and 3D platforming is always hard. Anyway, great submission! I like the idea and theme interpretation.

Cute little game. Very chill and relaxing. Would love to see a bit more danger to the game and a limitation to the amount of water and seeds you can hold so you have to think a bit when building. Other then those tweaks I think it was great work. Keep it up!

This is a very beautiful game.
The visuals in this game are a feast for the eyes. The vibrant colors and attention to detail make every scene visually captivating
Impressive! Great amount of work was made in just a 48 hours. I hope, you can make it a good big game. Good luck and thank you for your entry.
