Nice idea, but super hard, haha!

Perhaps mention the controls on this page too, it took a while before I realised that I could jump.

Fun enemy characters, well done!

This is nice! I enjoyed the gameplay, artsyle and also the music was cool. My criticism is that fade in/fade out effect everytime is kinda annoying. Also, the jump mechanic felt a bit awkward, but maybe it's just me.

wooooow the game is really nice! the UI in general is rally sweet and it like something one would like to bite.... the controls are cool also. I would have wanted like a paus menu algo to exit the game easier, dont know if I am simply too dumb and couldnt use it or find it... I also had an issue where a blob was kinda immortal, I kept on jumping on it and it didnt die until like 1min after...

douwe-ravers 2021-04-27 08:13

Yeah that was hard. I didn't get further then level 3 so maybe I missed it but some obstacles to jump on or something would be nice.

a linux or web build would be very appreciated :)

ambear 2021-04-27 08:32

Your game is good, i like it, but yeah, it's really hard, but if you will understand controls, it is might become easy haha What annoyed the most, is the sounds of shooting Too loud and I got headache >< But don't blame you, game is nice! Thanks!

sabasa 2021-04-27 08:35

@krebzor the enemies die depending on how much youve charged your sound-jump or sound-wave so if your charge is too low you will bounce on its head but it wont die. Unfortunately we didnt have enough time for the pause menu. Thanks for the feedback, im glad you liked it :)

@hapiel @thejohnyfeed Im glad you liked it. We'll take your feedback in consideration for future games. Thanks for playing

sabasa 2021-04-27 08:40

nice interpretation of the theme. Love the art.

studio-gomp 2021-04-29 03:37

This was quite difficult! I liked the graphics and it's a cool idea.

@advay @studio-gomp Thank you :D

Very nice graphics and interpretation of this JAM's theme! The only problem for me - games seems very hard, but I am usually not good in this type of games, so it's okay.

mahalis 2021-05-04 15:13

This is charming! First sound-based interpretation of the theme I’ve seen. The art and animations are terrific—I love the way the enemies fall apart and drop their skulls. It is, as a bunch of people have pointed out, quite hard—as soon as the green projectile ones showed up I was pretty much done for—but tuning difficulty for a jam game is always a challenge. Well done.

Nice game!! Love the cute art and the slime animations. Pretty difficult tho! It was hard trying to dodge the green bullets. I think jumping over the enemies is a bit underpowered, I couldn't manage to kill a green slime by jumping. But really cool game overall!

thegamerasd 2021-05-09 07:49

Cool game, I like your take on the theme!

adnonymous5 2021-05-16 18:33

Awesome game. Really well done. The way the enemy kills are binary - your sound wave is either strong enough to kill or it isn't - adds some strategy and prevents you from just mashing. The different enemy behaviors are cool as well! The green one is way too brutal though. Those guys' projectiles are too damn good at killing you haha. I love the idea of using a downwards soundwave to jump - super creative, and the way the charge of the sound jump dissipates as you bounce off enemies' heads is such a clever behavior. The game only loosely fits the theme, but props on making the first level above ground and the later ones below ground: that was a smart way of at least making me *feel* like I was progressing deeper. Backgrounds, Character designs, and animations are gorgeous. And there are a lot of em too! Really impressive for the short amount of time we had. And the integration of the charging meter into the platform that you're standing on? Genius! It looks so good. Too many good things to say about this game, very few negatives. Awesome job folks.
