Nice concept but I think I found a way to cheat. Grabbing and monkey and holding on to it forever seems like a totally legit strategy :D

argon 2020-10-06 20:03

@cg-fred thank you :D I also noticed this strategie when I was doing the last gameplay tests but couldn't find a good way to counter it in time, I was hopping peoplen won't find out...

Nice job, the game is really cute and simple. I like it a lot, although there are a peak of difficulty in the middle of the music. And the game is too short, i need more ^^.

I like this game very much! Especially the unique style in art and sound. I almost loved all parts of this game. Except the gameplay is a bit too intense. Good Job!

such a lightweigth game! enjoyed it, the play, the music, the concept. very good job. shor but dense. (short because it is quite hard)

Oef, very difficult but very fun. Cool sounds and nice atmosphere.

The audio and the art are fantastic, they make the game very engaging! Currently, I find it a tiny bit too difficult, with multiple monkeys escaping on one miss, but it's great what you were able to accomplish and would love to see this game taken further!

The art and design are gorgeous; I'm on a laptop with trackpad right now, so capturing moneys was kinda difficult but I do like the idea of a rhythm game with a recovery mechanic. The issue I was having is that it wasn't worth catching the monkeys, as I'd miss more when trying to bring the first one back. If they stayed caught but available, (in a cage of limited numbers or something) i'd have the opportunity to try and snatch a few back during a lull in the drumming (or could just git gud ;) ).

Lovely game, and nice job implementing a rhythm system in the time!

Hello! It was super fun! I love this rhythm game, cool music. the whole game looks simple but so cute! I like the graphics (bright colors, the atmosphere of the night and funny animation), music (I feel like a monkey near the fire!) And gameplay (fun, but challenging) Well done!

Cool! Pretty simple but fun. I left with only one monkey and it felt ok, so I guess it would've been nice to make something to show that all the monkeys are important. Like if it would've been impossible to play the whole rhythm with only 1-2 moneys. But still great job!

Pretty fun games, with good audio and graphics !

ismael-rodriguez 2020-10-09 23:50

Art is good, music is good, idea is good, gameplay is good, but I'm **bad** at your game lol

Good job!

zanzavar 2020-10-09 23:59

Very nice! It is a little hard to keep your eye at the music bar and at the same time interact with the monkeys and the ghosts. The mood and the aesthetics were really good and the music catchy! Great work!

moski 2020-10-10 02:07

I love rhythm games. This one is very difficult to keep track of, but it's still fantastic in its themes and aesthetics!

Whenever I had to move my mouse to do anything, that threw me off the rhythm. Still somehow managed to make it all the way to the end, but it was no easy feat. Regardless, it was still very well done. It looks fantastic and the music really helps to make it atmospheric.

It's good to see more and more people getting into making rhythm games. They fit so well with this jam's themes, and this one certainly outstands! Once again, this was a very cool experience! Thanks for sharing it with us all! 🐳

Really well done! The music and the graphics are incredible and creative aswell. 5/5 in every rate imo

argon 2020-10-11 08:57

@thingus thank you, I also tested the game on trackpad so I know your pain ! This is a very nice idea with the cage, I might try to implement something like this if I go back to this game in the future.

argon 2020-10-11 09:02

@moski so happy you liked our game ! I'm actually pretty bad at rhythm game but Rhythm Heaven/Paradise just fascinate me so I really wanted to try something in that genre.

Also I didn't anticipated that the combination of keeping the rhythm and using the mouse would be so challengeful, if I go back to this game I might try to make a less hard difficulty curve...

Your game is really fun. The graphics are cool, and the sound is the key to the main mechanics. I found something very original. Good job.
