I couldn't seem to effect the game in any way. I tried clicking like the instructions said, but the game seemed to be playing itself. The audio was all in my left headphone on the left channel, with only the odd sound effect coming in through the right. Honestly, it seemed to be playing itself - the slimes didn't really lose any health beyond the odd chip damage, which they would regenerate enyway, so there wasn't really any threat.
interesting
Nice graphics, but there is not much to do as I did not did anything yet and the knight's health is near full and i killed 70 demons. I am standing in the safe zone and i am UNTOUCHABLE
Hi! I love the artstyle and music, but I don't know if the controls are bugged or I don't understand them... Anything I try, the slimes just twitch in place and then stay where they are

Good graphic, the sounds effects are a little annoying in a longer term but nice job.
Thanks all, when a Slime is full life, it can't back to the safe zone. I should find a good ratio between Slime and demons, or add a new mecanic, but for the moment it's all haha. 2 days and lots of bugs > <

Controls are a bit too simple (as I can understand, we don't directly control the slimes, we only tell them to go somewhere). Also the game can play itself. The background music only plays through the left speaker.
Otherwise, good game! I like the aesthetic.

i was confused by the controls i tried clicking like the instructions said but it didn't seem to do anything. I like the look of it and the animations. the music sets a good mood, would love to try again once i understand how the controls work.
@cjgammon controls are simple: When a slime is under max life, you can click on its icon to force it return into the safe zone. By clicking again it returns fight demons. When a slime is full life it returns fight.
I hope you'll like the game :)

As said before, there is sadly nothing much to do. At the beginning it plays by itself then at some point you are overwhelmed with demons, and sending one of your slimes back would only let the other 2 even more overwhelmed. Or was I missing something?
Now the visuals are really nice. I did love the animations, espacially the spawning eye-demon. The music was a really nice touch too an fitted pretty well !
Nice entry !
@rolly yes, i know, at the beginning I wanted to add other mechanisms, adding *3 skills* (healing, repelling and attacking zones), as well as *levels* (slimes and demons) but the lack of time played against me. I take all the returns to try a v2 at the end of the jam.
Thank you for the entry, it is really hard to come up with a unique game mechanic like this, it is always worth giving these ideas a shot.
The feel was nice but it was a little confusing to play, I didn't realize where you click for a while.
With a few extra functions and abilities like you've said before it would have been a lot of fun!
I was confused at first what I should do, and how to play the game. I see now, that the slimes just fight automatically, and I click the UI in the bottom left corner, but it wasn't explained super well. One more touch I like to add to my Ludum Dare games is a Title screen. It lets people get ready so they start the game on their own call instead of the game starting right after it boots. Congrats on your first Ludum Dare!

I am very confused about this game
I thought the demon sprites were really cute and I felt bad for killing them. Needs more diplomacy. Otherwise I loved it.

Graphics are very good! I wish there was more game to it than this. I ended up fighting at the "safe zone", so there wasn't much more to do than to watch. Sounds effects are alright. At first I laughed that the music sounds like another "progammer art" piece. But at the end it evolved and started to sound pretty cool. Good job! I hope to see some more gameplay next time :)

Great graphics, the music got on my nerves. I also had problems at first understanding how to make you slime move back, but then I figured it out. In the end I got stuck in the safe zone and felt like I couldn't be beaten.

I like the slime knights haha, they're a cute idea. The game probably needs some balancing for now, it seems really hard to die because the slimes seem to be healing even when I'm not at the safe zone. That's probably what's causing the confusion too cause the slimes just keep walking forward after they naturally heal.

Hey! Saw your game was a few votes short, so I played it on Twitch and gave some live feedback! VOD is up on Youtube, if you'd like to see it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gi6oja9yekY
This game has a really charming aesthetic! The contrast between cute colorful slimes and the mute-colored menacing BG/demon-slimes was nice. Something about the wet, bouncy-sounding lead instrument in the music lent itself to slimes too!
Like a couple other folks, I was confused by the controls for a bit, until I realized you clicked the *portraits* and not the slime knights or the environment, to move them. A bit more clarification of that in the description up top would've helped out! Retreating all the knights back into the healing zone, so they fought the enemies while being healed, did seem to be a bit of an unbeatable strategy too; it felt hard to lose, when they were being healed all the time!
I appreciate the simple controls which could even work on mobile, and the slower-pace as a strategy game (good for me, since I have some trouble multitasking while under stress). This was a fun little game with a real polished look. I enjoyed it. Thanks for making this!
