I had an extraordinary experience playing this! I just wish that there were more bossfights (or action) to the story.

Great game definitely the best 'story' game I've seen in the compo so far, with voice acting and everything! Probably the funniest game I've played yet as well. Love the delivery on the lines especially with the adlibs haha. The boss fight was some great bullet hell style gameplay although it did leave me wishing there was a bit more action. Super fun game nonetheless, nice work!
The game has great completeness. Although the BOSS mechanics are relatively simple and a bit dull, I still finished it. The cutscenes seem to have had a lot of effort put into them, making it a highly polished work. Keep up the good work!
The dialogue is so funny and the art style is so good, i would love more content in this game!
Very funny story!
As always, top points for humor! President Michael Jordan
Edit: I meant to continue that previous sentence, but I'm pretty sure you already read my comment. Oh well. President Michael Jordan was a hilarious bit, and the classification of all people below 6 feet as "tiny creatures" is one of the the hardest I've ever laughed at someone's take on the theme.
The cutscenes are great, and I love the way the story incorporates the theme. The controls are super tight, and due to my gaming skills I never took a single hit of damage. I suppose I Should've stopped showing off as a means to confirm that taking damage is possible, and perhaps I missed out on content by not dying.
I recorded myself playing for maximum feedbackage!

This was fun - loved the story and art - would be cool to see more robot -bullet hell in the future. If the story was continued and like x-men, they kept developing tougher and tougher robots that all ended up getting taken down by a spear to the face
Well, I've been through this 3 times and in different ways, it was a fascinating experience. /ᐠ˵- ⩊ -˵マ - first with a pistol. •ᴗ• OK - second purely with a spear. •ᴗ• OK - third without damage (the pistol and the distance are your friend). ≖‿≖ ok
The story actually links the theme with your gameplay perfectly together, and it's a story I really like. Back when I just went to college, I actually struggled a bit being a member of the "tiny creatures" since I'm 5'8. My friends would actually sometimes make jokes about it. They were all friendly banters but it did get to a point where it got a little annoying. Until one point, I realized that height is something I cannot change, and it really doesn't matter that much. In the case of David, he dodged the attacks because of it, so there are even pluses! In real life, I don't know, maybe it helps dodging toxic relationships.
In terms of the gameplay, there's really not much to complain. I especially like the art and feedbacks you created, such as when defeating Goliath. One suggestion I'd make is with the attack patterns, as all attack patterns now seem to be encouraging safe and ranged plays. Maybe it would be fun if Goliath would target on further ranges, and encourage the players to come close and take risks.
Played this and my girlfriend was watching, and we were losing our minds over the intro, ESPECIALLY at the "slingshot". Really incredible, we both loved it a lot! I love shmups overall, so the fight being "basic" didn't really bother me much and controlled fine. Loved the Goliath explosions lol
On a sidenote.. We both were surprised to see a *dreamcast* game of all things, so I ended up booting retroarch, downloading a dreamcast core, and playing it on that too. Kind blows my mind that apparently all of your games have a dreamcast build (i mean.. it's in your name i guess). The controls were a bit awkward on it, tho. I'm not sure if that's how it was mapped to the actual dreamcast controller, but the face buttons is actually what moves the character, and using my right hand to move a character just does not compute in my brain. I'd suggest experimenting with the opposite: the analog moving the character and the facebuttons adjusting the cursor. Or maybe do what some twinstick shooters (Xenocrisis comes to mind) do, where the face buttons controls the direction of the shooting instead of a cursor (Y would shoot up, B would shoot right, both would shot diagonally, and so on). Not sure how it would feel especifically on a dreamcast controller since i don't own one, but nonetheless, still super cool that there's even a build for that.
Great job!
I really enjoyed your story—it’s so humorous with a bit of a 'dark humor' vibe, and it cleverly ties into the theme. The explosion effects are great and seem easy to implement, which I appreciate. I absolutely love your writing; it feels deep and thought-provoking. The voice acting was a standout for me—it really caught my attention! Also, I managed to clear the combat part without taking any damage, so the difficulty might be a bit on the easy side. It would be great if the battles were more challenging, though I’m not sure if that’s intentional as part of the story. Great work!
A Captain Dreamcast game with actual gameplay and a speedrun timer?! Inconceivable! I couldn't get to sub-30, but did manage sub-31!

Anyway, this was awesome! The story was hilarious - I loved your take on the theme (and the many places where you sprinkled it throughout) - and the cutscene graphics were great too: I especially loved how everything was presented as a news story.
The gameplay was very fun too! The patterns were good, and the tie-in of the theme with the bullet-hell style projectiles requiring your tiny size to dodge was really cool. Taking damage freezing you for a second also prevented cheesing the boss by ignoring all projectiles for speedruns (although I'm probably the only one who cares about that :)). The spear felt a bit useless outside of the special attack to disable Goliath, but it is does make sense.
Overall, I really enjoyed it! Awesome entry!
Hey, great adlibs! Fun story and cool graphics. The game is maybe a little too easy (maybe more variations with the robot attacks), but the intro/outro is really something else
Great entry!
This gave me quite a few laughs!
The gameplay was fun enough - nothing groundbreaking, but it gave the narrative something to latch onto. Something that may have made the combat a little more engaging would be to remove the damage from the gun, and have it be just a means to expose the weak point, and then force you to use the spear when the stance is broken.
I also love that you compiled this for the Dreamcast. Fantastic work!
I liked the story and your take on the theme. The boss fight was fun too, with several different patterns. I had some audio issues playing in Firefox browser (screeching). Still, these issues didn't prevent me from having a good time.
Hmm, but what the government is really hiding from us? Do they see us as tiny creatures regardless of our stature? The story in this game runs deeper than I can really comprehend...
Masterpiece as always! You have a unique way of blending humor with your own bespoke, goofy, and fun style that makes your work stand out. I was laughing so hard, as usual!
I don’t have much to critique on gameplay, though the combat feels a bit simple, but it fits the theme well, so I’m all in. Thanks for bringing another amazing entry—I can’t wait to see what you come up with next!
Absolutely LOVED the narrative parts of the game and the voiceovers were perfect! I'm a little sad that I don't have a dreamcast now because I think that's such a cool port to make especially during a game jam!
Fun, short experience. Interesting use of the theme. Hit detection works very well. I do think the game is a little too easy and that David can take way too many hits. A single hit from Goliath should feel like getting hit with a sack of bricks.
Only the second game of yours I've played, and its an total riot like the last one, my top pick for humor. The extra voiceovers after the dialogue are priceless.
Tried getting the game set up on the Flycast emulator, and it worked, but it didn't have the voice-overs and the music cut out after playing for a few seconds, maybe an emulator issue? Dreamcast is a console I plan to pick up someday, if I do, I know what I'll be loading up on my giant stack of old CDRs.

Happy for good old Dreamcast for getting some love too. Loved the style and humor! Spear op!

Goliath defeated. RIP BOZO. In other words this was quite the amusing game. And alright in general. Not the most innovative but it's still alright.
GET DOWN MR PRESIDENT!
Verry funny
Very smooth controls and fun bullet dodging. Overall it seemed a little too easy but it was fun. The storytelling before and after were also enjoyable. Good to know I'll be okay if I have a gun or a spear.
I don't know why, but it was the stock-photo explosions that had me laughing out loud.
I agree with others that the game is too easy. You can just ignore all of goliath's bullets and you will still kill it well before it manages to kill you. You don't even have to care about which weapon to use, really.
The funnies LDjam game I've ever played. The game itself was a bit easy. But it was complete! The intro and outro voice acting and slides were so fucking funny holy shit. Wish I could rate it a 6/5 for humour
Woaw, a dreamcast entry, very impressive!
The game is very fun too, I love it! The story is top notch, I love the art and voice over, and overall humor. The game itself is short but fun to play, I like that you have two weapons and thus can try various strategies!
My best score after several attempts was 32:50 seconds (spear is your friend), but I saw on the previous comments that it can be lower, so I'll keep trying.
Anyway, congrats on this great entry, and for keeping the Dreamcast alive!
As a tiny creature, I approve of representation. Pretty fun boss fight but not too challenging. Dodged and shot the first time, tried the spear the second time and realised I could just stand next to the boss and spam it to win so could use some balancing. Voiceovers and cutscenes are always fun as expected.
edit: double post
Neat bullet hell boss fight. I bit too generic, maybe. Some twists, like luring boss to jump exploding barrels, or even better, make it get stuck in tight places that hero easily navigate, would make it much better.
It's short, it's simple but it's really nice! Had to go for the speedrun and after billion tries I finally got good enough random seed to get under the current best time. Did you watch the new Penguin show, somehow your way of speaking reminds me of the main character in that show :D davidvsgoliath.PNG
