Imphensia?

imphenzia 2017-04-24 20:21

@constellado - thanks!

@gamingdudester - Did I do a typo of my nick somewhere? =)

Really nice game, love the concept and execution. If you want to expand it maybe add objects you want to deflect into the planet or have objects that you aren't allowed to shoot to mix it up. Boss encounters?

Not bad, I was satisfied to see the physics effects working smoothly. Good work!

jejoll 2017-04-26 00:15

Oddly satisfying to play. Lots of cool patterns to watch. Good job.

Wow, great polish for a game made in such a short timeframe! This was fun to play, and the physics worked together quite nicely to create a fresh gameplay. The menus, music and visuals all were great!

Kept me playing for a while

imphenzia 2017-05-03 12:25

Thanks for the feedback!

I managed to get a score of 2730. If you beat it (with a YouTube video to show it) you get my Universal Sound FX sound pack for gamedevelopers (5000+ sound effects) for free (http://www.universalsoundfx.com/game-ready-sound-packs.php =)

I played one time.& I am farely new to that game.So yeah.Pretty cool game.Just add more objects please.

The core mechanic is great, very difficult to master. This is a kind of skill game that I suspect you could grind at and improve in for a very long time. The randomness may actually be a detriment to that, it might be nice to have a mode where you get exactly the same pattern so you could better compare skill between players and optimize strategies for a specific run. The physics-based graphics work great for this game and it's quite pleasing to look at. I'm a little surprised the menu music didn't carry over into the game though.

I played this game on stream at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/139973818 - time 2:33:10

A good game. I like the simplicity.

Now that's a cool idea for a game! Really, really love it! It works really smooth and looks cool. Cannot say anything negative about it or give you constructive criticism. Good job.

First impression wasn't that good, but when I tried it, I ended up playing multiple times (high fun factor). The way the asteroids push around the planetary remains is very satisfying, and I thought it was an innovative change that I can only push them around, not destroy them.

Also enjoyed watching your timelapse

Hey guys, thanks for taking the time to play and comment! Glad you like it. @sgstair - it was very satisfying to see someone play the game in a stream! Cool! It's interesting that you interpreted it as having to use as little resources (shots) as possible because there is no such mechanic - I spam missiles like crazy :)

simplepotential 2017-05-13 23:24

I had SO much fun playing this! I could easily see me playing this on a cell phone for long periods of time. If I was to offer some criticism it would be that if you took some time to make actual textured planets in a final release it would be awesome but more than that, the targeting could be more visible, maybe a brighter color? In any case, easily in the top 10 games I've played in a Ludum Dare.

VERY interesting here! I loved the "roger," it was cute~

takusan 2017-05-17 23:09

Well now, this is very interesting ;)

It needs a bit clearer instructions, because it took me a while to understand the mechanic (and the asteroids are pushed very slightly, I simply didn't notice it at first). You know what would greatly help? If in menu it was shown (a clip, or actual auto-gameplay beneath the menu) how to proceed.

The gameplay, after you get the machanic down, is very relaxing and fluent. A sphere or voxel sphere would add a nice polish, but a cube is also fine :) I found myself playing quite a bit.

I like your project, i think it would do just fine as a mobile game for example. I'm glad I found it, and I hope you'll gather enough ratings!

Cheers!

Had a lot of fun playing it. Physics are fun.

swamphen 2017-05-18 10:07

This is a really interesting take on missile command, I did find it really difficult to control though!

grena 2017-05-18 17:17

Ah nice, a kind of game I like to play :) It's quite difficulte though, but once you get the physic logic, it's really fun. The more you take, the less you can defend, it forces you to become very effective with your last missiles at the end ^^

I love the discret but nice music in background, and the sound of explosion is satisfying :D All that in compo, so again, congrats!

Nice game!

awesomealliterationalliance 2017-05-18 19:13

Nice music at the start of the game, is it on purpose that there is only music in the menu screen but not in game? aside from that, the basic mechanics are intriguing but not used to their full potential, I think. Got a bit stale after a few minutes. But considering this is a Compo entry it's still very impressive what you managed to pull of in that short time. Enjoyed playing :)

m2tias 2017-05-18 20:09

The menu looks so polished! Did you spend last day on it? :D At first I didn't realize that the planet is the cube. I've always liked Missile Command and this is a nice take on it. I like how each cube has one rocket. Something about the way you shoot rockets make it really hard to time the deflection. Apart from that, it's a really nice one :)
