some sounds and the destruction of enemies would be a good improval to the game, otherwise i'ts a pretty simple platform with some interesting enemy looks.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD44 → Hell's Business

I really like your art style, the main character and enemies were super fun! It felt like my jump inputs weren't always being recognized. Great use of the theme to buy upgrades, awesome job!
Thank you for your feedbacks. I... just forgot to make enemies disapear ^^". And yeah I had some issues with the jump, I will study the physics a bit more before making a new platformer!
The art style is very good, platforming is good too, maybe could use a bit of polish for jump and attacking. Nice job creating a whole story and characters!
Nice entry.
You may want to try manually setting the game width on itch, since the sides are cut off for me, unless I fullscreen it.
I had a hard time understanding when an attack landed and what my range was.
I loved the intro, although I wish I could have pressed space or something to go to the next image more quickly.
I don't think the controls work quite right for me. The hit is mapped to the mouse click, then jump to spacebar and movement with arrow keys. The alt, ctrl and other keys don't seem to work :\
@tofunaut I think your problem comes from the lack of feedback in my game because the range and duration of the hit should be pretty close to what you see.
@rombus I don't know why alt, ctrl, etc. Did not work for you. Did you try the html version or the windows version?
Thank you all for your nice comments :D
Interesting concept. But i don't know why i'm more interresting in the script than the gameplay. Nevermind nice entry pal !
Going to hell for the person we love.. Would like to have been able to skip the intro, as I had to reload the page. Nice work :)
Nice game. The controls were a little strange, but it definitely was a nice touch to be able to pull the menu up at any time. nice work.
In the web version, when I push `alt` the window focuses to Chrome's menus and i have to click in the game scene again to get control back.
Cute sprites!
Hey, just as a headsup - its a good idea to avoid using ALT for player controls for games you do web builds for, as most browsers use ALT + key for hotkeys
Nice game! In my opinion the sword swing could do with being a little quicker and the reach a little longer, and the movement controls a little less immediate - trying to get into the right spot to hit the enemies is a little fiddly right now.
Just FYI, the web version has a couple of minor issues - Left Alt doesn't work (in Firefox at least), as it focuses on the menu bar.
Good job overall though!
Nice game, only the fight is a little bit annoying
I love the comics  you should draw more!
Here is my playthrough:

Can't continue after "he spent lots of time in front of computer", game just renders a black screen (html5) :(
Thanks to everybody :)
@icxon Thank for your playthrough, I use it to show my game to my friends and family :D
@DataGreed I tested again the html version and it worked well, you can try to refresh your browser tab, try in another browser or test the windows build
@solah I am not sure what it was, but clearing reloading page really did help after deleting all session storage.
Nice platformer. Had some problems with jumping - it (seemingly) randomly stops working after hitting enemies on the run and start working again after you fully stop.
Nice entry, the story made me laugh :P
I found the camera a bit annoying, I often jumped just to move it up a little, so I could see what was there. I think it should just center on the character. Also the jump sometimes didn't work, I'm not sure why (or when, sorry for the completely unhelpful bug report :D)
The monster bodies just staying around are pretty fun, I feel like maybe you could do something with that, e.g. use them to activate a pressure plate or something.
The controls in general felt super clunky, and ended up being a frustrating point of contention.
The comics were fun, and the mechanics seem to be sound. Just needs some work cleaning up the rough edges.
The controls were annoying I sometimes couldn't jump and sometimes I couldn't swiftly change weapons, but graphics wise and story it was really good. Nice job, If you have time check out my game too :v:
I think I couldn't jump when I was moving. If I stopped moving for even a second I could jump. Really liked the storytelling. To bad you didn't have time for an ending.
Hey, nice game!
The one problem with it are the controls. Jumping occurs randomly when you hit SPACE. It seems like you put a chance on 75% on jumping. At first I thought it had to do with the bending animation after the jump but waiting until after it did not work either. Then I thought, maybe they key UP event is used for the SPACE button but that was not the case either. So please fix your jump for the next LD game.
Aside from that I really like your graphical style. The opening scene is simple in story but the drawings are really cool! :-) I like the pixel style, the opening Bryan looks realistic, then you get a ten pixel high version of it in the game - that is really funny. Reminds me of my old game boy games :-)
A little music and sound would have been great, that could have really worked wonders for the atmosphere.
Great job, keep up the good work!
Very nice for you first LD game. Pixel art animations are well made but one problem that I have is that the controls are a bit laggy. Maybe it has something to do with the web-version. Nice game!
Nice game ! The intro was well done but images lasted a bit too long in my opinion ( a key to show the next one would have been great). Jumping while moving would have made the gameplay a lot more fluid but otherwise good job :)
@erikkire Hi, thank you for your nice comment, this is not my first LD Game, just my first Compo game ;) For the jump, I guess I just have failed to implement a correct ground check to my code ^^"
Thank you all for your comments :)
Awesome game, I loved the story even though it could take less time or if one could skip if he already read it :) Music would be really nice! But anyway, I really liked the art and the game itself.
I liked the silly basic MS paint art!
The physics are a bit wonky and there's not much feedback to hitting the enemy or getting hit yourself, but some audio would have helped a lot with this in general I think.
Good work, but I suggest reversing the camera follow so you can see ahead of where you move. You should also process your input in Update() before applying it in FixedUpdate() so input is always taken in. I also got through the entire game without killing any enemies and without buying any upgrades. I like what you managed to get done in a short amount of time. Keep it up!
@phobos001 I never thought that my issues with commands could come from that, I will try it, thank you :)
Edit: I tested it, that solved the jump issue :) I know what to do for my next games: FixedUpdate exclusively for physics. Thanks again
Cool intro, not sure how it ties up with the game :D The movement controls feel very random and floaty which made me really sad. Fighting was also a bit random, so I figured I try to skip all the enemies. Good effort though :)
