Best team !
Nice concept and well executed. The progression was nice, I enjoyed it!
Pretty cool looking game. Great job! the difficulty scaling was pretty nice too. Nice aesthetic you guys went with. The music and sounds were good too.
I was hooked by the art and the ambiance, and the ideas of gameplay are nice :) I have to say that the sound design is really too loud and agressive though. But otherwise I enjoyed the game.
Very cool concept, but I often found myself fighting with the controls. The keys on the keyboard not being in the same order as shown on the screen didn't help. Still really cool, I loved the idea of mixing different hazards
hi! I loved it. I got until the lvl of D - nothing grabs, with the green monster tentacles, than i didnt manage to combine the right rules to successfully ^_^ THAT VAMPIRE lol. loved the themes, the arts, the funny creepy sounds! good job
Woaaah! The art style is just charming and gameplay is amazing. The idea of manipulating the surroundings also feels so fresh. It gets really difficult when you achieve more and more controls to influence the space. Awesome work done here. :3
Thanks everyone for the nice comments! We are glad you enjoyed our game. :v:
@reblys Yeah we didn't have anyone working on sound, so I did all that myself on the last day and haven't been very good at it. But at least there's sound!
@citsua That's very good feedback, thank you! The keys would indeed be better off in the actual order they appear on our keyboards.
very interesting game and cool graphics only the cute girls scream is to much for my ears^^
Pretty good, though the game is obviously very much aimed at QWERTY keyboards. Doesn't work so well for other layouts. I really liked the twist of being able to combine abilities.
Sound was a bit glitchy but it was fun - I loved that you had to combo the spells. The order of the powers on screen didnt match the order of my fingers on a QWERTY keyboard which tripped me up, but cute & fun none the less!
This is a really cool idea which leads to some pretty interesting levels! The audio worked well and added to the atmosphere, I also really liked the 2.5D art style! One small suggestion is to have the different spells line up with the keys on the keyboard just so it isn't as confusing or hard to memorise! Overall, this is a really good jam entry!
Cool idea. Especially combining abilities was clever. The art style was also pretty neat.
The hit boxes on the grabbing vines was a bit weird though, seemed like you had to walk into them a bit in one level, to be able to kill of the vampire.
Overall a pretty good game.
Great graphics and innovative idea. Initially i struggled to find that wwe need to press and hold the key(Keyboard), after finding tha it was great.
There are some cool mechanics to this game. I like that it starts out easy but scales up to a point where it's actually quite difficult. I definitely got confused after a while by which finger does what, though I'm not sure how best to fix that.
Looks nice! I like games about witches ^__^ I pressed all the keys at once and felt like a hacker finishing the game easily :D
Cute concept! I really enjoyed the art style of the main character, and the check points were definitely helpful because I kept dying when I forgot which key to press haha. Combining powers (like for lava) was also a really nice touch, and the pacing of introducing one power, then another, then together, flowed really intuitively!
The WebGL version definitely seems a bit buggy with the sound, but even though it's buggy and from an external source, I think it definitely helps the vibe a lot! Great work adding it in at the end
For future games (or this one if you take it further!), I would recommend spending a bit more time on providing feedback to the user. It took me awhile to figure out how the vampires/skeletons work since there's no specific key for them, but that was the only really confusing part. You already have some steps in the right direction with tinting the buttons and de-illuminating harmless objects, so I would just play them up more. The lighting effect in particular was really subtle, and I often found myself glancing to make sure I was pressing the right buttons. One way to go about it would be animating the objects, then turn off that object's animation when the correct power is activated. Another quick and dirty option is to drop the saturation when an item is rendered harmless (e.g. red/yellow jackolantern and flames to a b&w version) but be careful with color-only indicators since color-blindness might make that less noticeable.
Overall a super nice game! I made it all the way to the end!
Awesome game! In the end I realized I could just press all the words at once and I would be able to pass any trap with ease. Maybe invert what some of the keys do. Like 'Everything burns' instead of 'Nothing burns' Other than that nice work
Folks, we took the liberty of releasing a 1.1 version of the game with buttons reordered to match keys on (most) keyboards. We hope this will make the game easier to play! If you want to test the actual Jam version as it was at the end of 72 hours, feel free to download version 1.0 instead. :-)
Very good game with a cool concept and nice graphics, I just did not understand the end x). Well done!
This is a really great concept. The art design is solid, and the whole control and progress design is really great. I would keep up with this idea.
nice atmosphere great job ! :D
Nice idea. At a certain point I really started to sweat a bit :D one enemy is very hard positioned and it is very hard to get the right moment. But all in all a very good game.
Okay, first of all, it's Halloweeny, you already bought me. Secondly, cool mechanics. And the gameplay is really intense, in a good way. The game is small, but everything looks and sounds very nice. Great job!
This. Game. Hurts. My. Brain! I got an actual headache playing this game, seriously. Great game. The concept is brilliant. When the lava appeared and I need to start combining rules that's what sold me on the mechanic.
Good stuff :8ball:
