Weird but kinda cool graphics, disturbing sounds, great atmosphere. Couldn't finish the game though, killed every enemy and couldn't find anything interactable. Also didn't quite understand how the game fits theme

@lamossus, thank you for your feedback! Did you play the 002 version? If so, there are 4 stages, each is separated by a conversation with an NPC, and in the end there is a boss fight. Use of the theme is somehow subtle, you need to pay attention to the pools of blood and their effect on the character (as well as different dialogue routes and their impact on the ending).

I must say that the atmosphere is astonishing. Imagine that I wander alone in the forest, the field of view, the shade, the fade of light, and the color tone all together made that. However I quit the game just only a few seconds after I was engaged with the monster. They are not terrible monsters but somehow made my flesh creep..... Glad to say that sound of the monsters are really scary, reminding me of Ju-on.

@eveningwayward, yep, build 002. Will probably try your game again soon when I have some time, maybe it was one of those weird one-time bugs without any reason

well done! liked the mood and loved that between the rounds you get more of the story. Unfortunately it was too hard for me to reach the end of the story. But i liked the ramping. Also liked the visuals, nice style. Would have been nice to gain some more weapons.

Nice!

eveningwayward 2017-12-05 09:40

@lamossus I think I've just fixed the issue that you had, if you're still going to give it another chance, download a new version.

sengi 2017-12-05 10:25

This is really nice art and atmosphere! The art reminds me some of the works of Maxim Verehin, and this is a honest compliment, you nailed this entry. Not sure if you can PM to somebody here, but it would be great to have links to your team where I can follow your future works. So damn hunting entry, hope I will never be in night swamp in the near future, cause I'll have some flashbacks to this one)

@sengi, I'm super glad you liked it! You can always find me on Twitter (twitter.com/eveningwayward) or VK (vk.com/eveningwayward).

@eveningwayward неа, всё равно не работает, после 4, если не ошибаюсь, волны просто нет ни противников, ни НПК. Ну и из уважения к другим пользователям сайта то же самое на английском:

nope, still not working, after 4th, I think, wave there are just no enemies or NPCs

ratbird 2017-12-05 11:16

Oh, great atmosphere and style!

fugu 2017-12-05 13:03

much enemies, such scary, wow

jsqrs 2017-12-05 23:20

Absolutely love the mood and sprite art for this. Got me wanting to know more about the background of this surreal world you created. I was a little unclear on the rules though and when the moths appeared i couldn't attack them and they killed me. Gonna give it another go soon!

supr 2017-12-06 11:33

Сеттинг, стиль графики и внешний вид тварей хороши.

eveningwayward 2017-12-06 11:34

@jsqrs, thanks for the kind words! To kill moths and progress further you need to destroy the cocoon (first its spikes, then the body itself).

ramza 2017-12-06 17:25

Great atmosphere and graphics, but the game is rather challenging.

zielon 2017-12-06 19:06

Nice psychodelic art style and the mood is great. Good work!

The art and sound are really nice. I feel like I'm there when I play. Thanks for the experience!

A strange nightmare of a game in the best way possible. Loved the atmosphere. At first the shooting felt a bit strange and slow to control, but eventually I got the hang of the curveball style shooting. Good stuff!

rodobodolfo 2017-12-10 16:28

Loved the atmosphere! The audio was perfect! It was a very scary experience. Made me remember Darkseed for some reason, maybe the greenish tint and the awful monsters. Great job!!

mr-madcat 2017-12-14 12:46

Quitre disturbing. I like it. Shooting feels a bit sluggish, but otherwise well done.

hisfantor 2017-12-21 14:36

the graphics are interesting and the sounds actually creepy
