LD38 — A Small World

STEEL GEAR CHAOS by FireSlash 2017-05-03T00:43:55Z

An interesting idea. Really enjoyed the flavor text. I was a little confused on what the hook was supposed to represent. Definitely enjoyed the music and sounds, and the portrait was pretty cool. Played a couple levels and was definitely fun, but got a little repetitive once you figured out a strategy.

A small world lost in a big universe by siryakko 2017-05-03T00:18:50Z

Very neat. The art and music really set a relaxing mood that was fun to just fly around and explore in, although sometimes having to stop to pick things up was a little tedious. The mode switching was cool and it was interesting having a shared resource making the game a lot more hard than it appeared on the surface.

Two Dot by wh05herlock 2017-05-03T12:53:29Z

Everything was very intuitive and was easy to understand as you introduced each element before using it for real. The color blind mode was great. I wish that there was a quicker restart and maybe some quiet sounds playing in the background. Very fun!

Orbitz by Kyrv19 2017-05-01T23:57:17Z

A very cool concept. The art all meshed really well, and looked great. It was a little hard to tell where exactly I had to get the comet to beat the level, the edge of the inner circle and the light beam, a little further out? The screen was a little tall for my computer and it would also have been great if the comets would have came back a little sooner on a clear miss. Very frustrating sometimes, but that's half the fun of a puzzle game. Very fun.

The Tiny Astronaut by JSJDev 2017-05-03T12:27:59Z

Enjoyed the art style a lot as well as reading the scanner output. The hit boxes on the ground were okay but I found that that the inhabitant's, especially the slime, had very frustrating hit boxes. I liked the different palettes and I would be interested to see maybe hills or something else in the future. Nice job!

Space Diver by HDTeaV 2017-05-02T12:39:01Z

The orbiting mechanic is tons of fun. Some of the levels got repetitive with only small changes made to them. It would have been cool to see a couple more types of obstacles, but the core gameplay was really fun and the art was cute.

Get Rekt by lot9s 2017-05-02T03:15:09Z

I saw the number go up on the right the first time I played, but I couldn't get it to do it again. It took me a little time to figure out I had to dodge the rectangles, but i'm still not completely sure if that's exactly what I supposed to be doing. Dodging stuff while going super fast with `wasd` was fun, and with some more instructions this game could be a great reaction game.

Stable Orbit by mrspeaker 2017-05-03T02:47:23Z

Very fun, and very relaxing despite the difficulty. Loved the graphics, felt very polished and in the end achieving the goal was very satisfying. Just wish there were more levels and a quicker restart.

Going Home by Kyona Luya 2017-05-02T00:42:23Z

Super dope, loved parts of everything, and if things were taken up a notch or two I could see myself playing for hours. The controls could have been tighter and the music a bit longer with some rain/wind sounds thrown in, although not sure how much that makes sense in a cave, but it still really set the mood. It was cool backtracking to old places you've see and realizing that you could now reach them, but the two best moments were when you saw that the map looped around on itself and when you finally got out of the cave. There appeared to be multiple ways to get out to the surface so I'll definitely have to come back later and see if I can find them. Great game!

I, Mighty the Game! by Maks 2017-05-02T00:14:37Z

Cool idea, reminded me a lot of Populous. I decided that the red people were my chosen ones, and spent a couple games trying to eradicate the others, but could never finish before the game was done. Or was i supposed to keep them alive as the games seemed to finish close to when I destroyed one color. The ai could have been improved a little as the people often ran to and sat in the corners, and I felt like the land placing was a little overshadowed by being able to move people, but all in all pretty cool.

Space Donut by OliverPaulson 2017-05-02T03:01:31Z

Pretty fun, the donut was cool. However I felt the spikes in power for both the power ups and enemies were too high, the next tier made the previous one almost useless. It would be cool to see different types of turrets and some that played with the special nature of the donut. I also thought the art was nice and that the player controls felt good. Nice job.

LD39 — Running out of Power

Lionel's Weekend by nidup 2017-08-02T04:43:13Z

Really enjoyed the sound, I wasn't completely sure what i was supposed to do at first, I thought I had to move a box or something, but once I realized it was very interesting trying to navigate by sounds. I thought the special platforms that made different sounds were especially cool.

Lights Out by Brandon Diaz 2017-08-02T01:31:52Z

Enjoyed the music a great deal, the bot was a bit rude :yum:, really liked the general vibe of the game.

Tower Snake by superfrog 2017-12-05T18:05:12Z

Fun mashup of genres. It was a bit difficult for me because my arrow keys are terrible and I'm just garbage at snake. Super cool that you guys made it for the commodore64, was there any specific reason? I think I saw all the rooms, but for sure definitely was not able to get all the coins, was there an ending? Good job!

Lose weight by kingswind 2017-12-05T16:54:04Z

It's so hard to convince yourself not to pick up the food after years of training. This is one of the better uses of the theme I've seen so far. Did you guys ever try increasing the horizontal speed? I feel like that might increase the fun even more. Good job!

Shotgun King: the Final Checkmate by benjamin 2022-04-06T00:29:31Z

I really enjoyed this one, super polished. I will def be playing a ton of this in the coming weeks. My only complaint is I felt some of the rules were a bit unclear, like if you were in check but able to kill the king that was not a valid move even though it would win you round. The spread was also a little unclear, I was never really sure how much damage I was going to do, but I'm sure as I play more it'll make more sense. Thanks for such a cool game! (edit:) I realize now if I keep clicking I can force an illegal move, so basically no complaints lol

Support Simulator by NotExplosive 2022-04-06T01:32:38Z

I wiped 3 times on the boss (or what I assume was the boss) and no one raged. I def would have grinded more on the boss but it felt like the early levels weren't any challenge, and without the dialogue it lost a bit of its charm. That being said, I did really enjoy it, had a fun time figuring out in what order to cast the spells and listening to rodney complain. Is there an end or does it just keep going with harder and harder fights?

Doomsday Survivors by Who 2022-04-10T02:39:27Z

I had a fun time playing, I got to round 21 and stopped, although I think the scaling was getting to a point that I was probably gonna lose soon. I think my only problems were the balance being a little boring at sometimes, I think round 10-17 I didn't move, and the movement kinda being a little boring just going around in circles. Other than those two things I had a great time, and enjoyed the varieties of items and their descriptions, would def play a version just updated with some more stuff if you're working on it.

Help Pete Delay The Inevitable by zell 2022-04-10T02:15:12Z

I had a good time playing and was a polished experience. I think for me it would have been more fun if I was stronger and the blocks just started falling faster if that made the game too easy. Sometimes I noticed blocks floating because you destroyed a middle piece, which at first I kinda thought was a bug, but the longer I thought about it I wasn't really sure how you would fix it without breaking the game. Did you try any other block falling rules?

Multiplanetary by stevepdp 2022-04-10T00:57:51Z

I feel that the hardest part is the rush of launches at the start, if I could deal with that then I could usually play for a little bit. The controls (in my mind, it probably made sense to others) were backwards as I think I expected right to go clockwise. As others have said I think some more choices would make it a more interesting game, maybe being able to boost in and out, farther out and you move slower but can catch more fleeing rockets, farther in and you can move faster. I thought the year starting in the 60s was interesting, kinda implying we've been trying to settle on other planets for a while, or some conspiracy.

RUN COFFEE RUN by aerloth 2022-04-05T23:19:05Z

It's a game I wanted to play more. The eye closing effect kinda hurt my head for some reason, and I often got stuck on the tree geometry where I couldn't walk or jump (this was on the web version). With these two things fixed I think I would play alot more. As is I got to double jump inc and then couldn't find the ceo and the constant eyes closing was frustrating. I felt the physics felt really good and was fun just jumping around, I also thought the art had a cool vibe. Thanks for making it!

Chaos Vault by Zykra 2022-04-17T02:05:41Z

I really enjoyed the game, as others have said I def thought that slowly ramping up would be better, even if it was just only turning on more and more traps as the game progresses, but I had a fun time either way, and would def check a longer post jam version.

Artemis-17 by Grumpy Gecko 2022-04-17T02:14:07Z

I thought the spark effect was a cool one when breaking, I think a little screen shake when breaking would have been really cool. For me, the zoom was a little annoying not being able to really see stuff till it was pretty close, but I get if that was a difficulty thing. I was really confused about the fist until it punched something, lol. Def would give it another play with some power ups and stuff.

transaction failed by riley9 2022-04-05T20:38:59Z

I found the exit! The pun at the end was pretty good, to me some of the dialogue was a bit too much tell not show, but that's just me. I really enjoyed the music and felt it set the theme well. I wish there had been a way to show if something had new dialogue if I talked to it again cause I found myself not doing that just so i didn't get stuck in the talking loop again. I think on your itch the window size might be wrong as I had to change to fullscreen to see everything, but that again might just be me.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Hanoi - City of Scooters by mshopf 2018-04-24T04:38:10Z

I didn't understand the idea at all until some random person came from behind me and hit me out of nowhere. Although the game became kinda repetitive on repeat plays, I thought the idea was really unique and the first run definitely made me laugh. I thought the sound effects also made the game have a good feel to it.

Into the hell by wallie 2018-04-24T22:42:36Z

The game despite appearing simple was actually really fun. I didn't really get the card game aspect of it, but it felt like it got rid of most of the drag of rouge games and got right to the action. Great first LD.
