I clicked for the interesting graphics and limited color palettes and stayed for the cute, funny dialogues! I also liked the cool transitions between scenes and the use of color to show interactables. The addition of darker/deeper themes makes for interesting contrast. Pretty cool, especially considering this is your first game ever :open_mouth:
the gen z humor in this game was wonderfull, i din't manage to find the exit but it was really nice

It's such a nice game! Thank you for creating it.
There's some pretty heavy stuff in here - it works really well how you approach your experiences and combine them with your sense of humor! Lovely game!

I found the exit! The pun at the end was pretty good, to me some of the dialogue was a bit too much tell not show, but that's just me. I really enjoyed the music and felt it set the theme well. I wish there had been a way to show if something had new dialogue if I talked to it again cause I found myself not doing that just so i didn't get stuck in the talking loop again. I think on your itch the window size might be wrong as I had to change to fullscreen to see everything, but that again might just be me.
Congrats on your first game ever! I really liked playing this and wandering around interacting with everything/everyone. This is soooo creative, keep making games!
I loved this <3 As a trans person I found this super touching and deeply relatable, I hope you keep making games! Plant book is my favorite character
creative and funny. I really like the graphics. Good Job!

I too am just a little catboy who likes to wear hair clips... Good game <3 I ended up getting stuck in this room though:Capture.PNG
I couldn't see myself on the screen, and after button mashing for a while I ended up accidentally talking to a parking garage robot!
Overall love the trans color palette and themes :)
This was a great atmospheric story-focused game. The music is a bit repetitive, and it wasn't always clear where screen transitions were, but everything else was great!

Really cute and relatable! I loved it. The music was nice and chill, and the art was super cute <3 Good job!
I found it a bit hard to follow the dialogue comfortably with the tiny little two line box. Often the speaker would switch between the two lines and break continuity in my brain between who was speaking.
Got stuck in the same spot as mopifish.
Otherwise always happy to see more narrative games in LD!

I clicked for the colors and graphics, I stayed for the theme ( a story of how capitalism tries to destroy you, and how to try to avoid it, what more can you ask for?) Really cool game! Great job

thanks for the kind feedback of you all! <3 <3 I changed the window size on itch. thanks for the tip @jones i guess that was why some players couldn't find the exit. @mopifish @fireslash i also share the critcism in regards of the text layout and dialogue window. i think i'll tidy it up post Ludum Dare.
This game is really relatable. The conversations with green were especially heartbreaking. I also liked the Tokyo Ghoul references!
For things that could be improved, maybe the text box could be a line or 2 bigger. That way the player wouldn't have to push buttons to advance the text as often.
I liked this a lot. solid writing is a rare treat in games and being funny at it is like magic to me.

This was great and very different from all the other games I played from the jam. The story was very confusing (which was good), but in the end I did feel like I got the message (or a message at least). the game felt like playing through someones dream, where they were dreaming about their life and about the things they hate about it :)
I think it went a little bit long for the kind of game it is. I was really interested in seeing all the little interactions I could find, but after some time it became a bit much of similar things. Once I came near the ending, with the horse in the room etc, the story really changed however, and it became a lot more interesting again. The music was a perfect fit, because it felt a bit creepy as well. Really well done with that!
Overall I loved the experience! Great job :D
The pitch sold me the game from the start. I'm exactly the kind of public for this kind of game, it really is weird and quirky but in an interessing way, and the limitation of the medium really just help convey the overall theme and message! It was great and lovely despite the """depressing""" tone!

i finally have some time to answer your comments ^-^
@cobgoblin thank you so much!! this means a lot <33
@corrupt-spaghetti yes i plan a 1.1 post ludum dare version that has an extended text box! (and yay another tokyo ghoul fan!)
@swordmage thank you! yes, before i really started making the game, i was banking on the story and dialogues, glad to see it paid off!
@jzucc12 thank you too :> music is still something i have to look into more broadly. i'm glad that this little tune reached some of you <3
@zantze haha yes me too!! i'm looking into PICO-8 right now for my next game! if i can get along with it, a bright future awaits us :D
@wuppos thank you for your long comment! i agree i could have streamlined the game a bit more! i generally tend to make my project a bit too long because i always fear that they are too short haha. i'm glad you were captivated by the story and the music <3
@ribout-horace thanks! it's nice to see that the melancholic theme and the quirkiness go well together :>

it's almost 4 am here and you totally made my night, not gonna lie. at first i was captivated by the cute art style, but then when i saw a "story about being queer in a capitalistic world", i literally gasped cause of excitement. because for me, as a trans person, these little silly games with their little silly stories about little silly queer people are SO important, so you've done a great job at least for this reason. found impressive the dialogue features, especially when somebody used our deadname or the correct pronouns. very good entry, thank you so much for sharing this project and showing representation :) <3
