Nice idea!

rabbit 2014-12-08 23:09

Reminds me of McPixel and Warrio Ware. This is never a bad thing.

Really nailed the theme too.

ainasg 2014-12-08 23:11

Nice theme, also, good art ! :D

pfitzner 2014-12-08 23:11

I really liked this; your team did a good job!

I would love to see a longer game with this sorta premise; I'd also love to get into that treasure room!

apiotrw 2014-12-08 23:13

A very literal understanding of the theme :)

coolway99 2014-12-08 23:20

I really enjoy this entry. The only thing I wish it had was a longer "storyline", but then again, time limits.

terrytheplatypus 2014-12-08 23:21

Great game! I was momentarily frustrated by random things, but once I got past that, I loved it!

octoteam 2014-12-08 23:22

Yeah, we'd had like to make the game longer, but we didn't have an artist and had to reduce the scope.
We'll try to enlist an artist for the next LD :)

p1x3lruckus 2014-12-08 23:31

Has a good sense of humour, and fun mechanics, didn't get the octotrope.

HelkeGames 2014-12-09 07:45

Nice concept! Well done!^^

Oreganik 2014-12-09 17:10

A supremely entertaining endeavor. Thanks!

thatsmyjam 2014-12-09 20:14

Error with Dropbox :( Will try again later

rocketship 2014-12-09 20:50

Wow this was really clever, and just the right difficulty for my brain melted by modern games :D I liked the graphics and the sounds that really created a cool atmosphere. One thing I got stuck on was the match(?) thing, I tried to combine the cannon with the match and it didn't work. I have to say, very very good take on the theme!

lereveur 2014-12-09 22:38

Nice idea ! And I say that because I maked an escape-room too (well, sort of), and I think your concept is better than mine. :)

jyrkface 2014-12-09 23:38

Wow, great entry! Loved the classic style/gfx and the super clever take on the theme!

robustinteractive 2014-12-10 04:06

i love the look and feel of the game! great job!

raxsus 2014-12-10 14:09

Very fun, but the ending could have been better.

orion_black 2014-12-10 20:04

A good take on the theme.

ali312 2014-12-11 08:36

хорошая работа

nuclearnapalm 2014-12-11 08:47

I escaped! Great entry! It was really fun to play! Ahhh...I miss point & click era so much...

boracho 2014-12-11 08:54

fun game, good play on the theme. Music and sound are well done as well. art is good, but a little derivative. Good work overall.

stasss 2014-12-13 11:58

Great! Love that idea)))

happytransportgames 2014-12-13 16:10

Clever game. Loved the final part :D That's a catchy use of theme :)

kualitygames 2014-12-13 18:02

Loved it! Well executed.

mrbadivan 2014-12-13 20:46

Very clever theme entry!

tijmentio 2014-12-13 22:05

I feel like I'm missing some things. I pick up all these items but have no clue on how to use them. I saw in the screenshot that there should be an on/off button and a bag in the top right corner, but both or missing in the web version I played : / So I'm not gonna rate it since I think I didn't get to see the whole game.

programmerpony 2014-12-13 22:07

you asked for my twitter : @programmingpony

hissssssssss 2014-12-14 06:20

The puzzles were a bit simple, but the whole thing is very structured and feels complete for a jam game.
I loved your graphics, and the script was funny too. This was great. Awesome job!

leondryaso 2014-12-14 13:52

Oh that's genius! Just... why would anybody invent something like octorope? :D

ltyrosine 2014-12-15 23:10

Cool game! Clever theme usage! Old sierra adventures feelings here. Classic cool graphics, nice sounds. I really didnt get how a tiger turned to a baby cat but is ok hehe. Congrats

octoteam 2014-12-16 00:00

@leondryaso: The first draft of the script used a simple hook, but we thought an octopus would add a touch of absurdness and be funnier :)

@LTyrosine: Part of the premise of the game was that items would change to reflect the current channel style. On the documentary channel everything is wild, so a cooked steak becomes a raw piece of meat. The pirate channel was supposed to be the kids channel, hence why the treasure room is full of candy, the cannon would have fired confetti... but we ran out of time and couldn't convey that through the art.

benmcnelly 2014-12-16 07:12

This is one of my favorites so far! A lot of detail work and the octorope was neat.

rico-albe 2014-12-16 13:15

¡Buen trabajo!

mach60kas 2014-12-18 01:46

Short but sweet, pretty funny! I quite liked the items changing as you swapped channels and the graphics were quite playful. Was the boss meant to look like psycho mantis? :P Great job! :)

Lucariatias 2014-12-20 11:43

Haha, this was great. Novel use of the theme, fitting soundscapes, and made me chuckle several times. Really nice art style, sort of reminds me of Sword & Sworcery. I'm not really sure how you could expand it, but if you do, I'd be pretty impressed.

2hitadam 2014-12-28 07:20

Really fun entry and a clever take on the theme. Loved the art and all the humour sprinkled throughout. Took me awhile to solve the last puzzle because the inventory was in the way of what I was looking for, but otherwise great!

martial_cantarel_games 2014-12-29 19:20

all 5, but what i should do after getting octopus, snake and gun unit?
