LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

REPROPULSOR by blackcode 2014-12-12T20:58:00

I liked it; the controls were very loose though (some more control over jumping would be wonderful.)

Also, I sometimes clipped into platforms and couldn't move; I could jump out of them, though, so there's that.

I eagerly await whatever you end up deciding to do with this; I figured out that the smartest strategy was ambushing hunters while they were "eating".

Endless Abyss by Flying Jester 2014-12-08T23:59:00

I want to like this more than I do; I really do. It's a great concept, and I congratulate you for trying it out. It just has a lot of problems with it.

1. I had no idea how to use any of the weapons I was getting. I've tried most of the buttons on my keyboard, with no luck.

2. I never had to use the weapons, since the player character is so much faster than the monsters. I literally ran circles around the dungeon until the game crashed.

3. The game crashed because I hit Spacebar over the 'Press Shift to Exit Shop' prompt; it threw an error and shut the whole thing down. That's... a pretty big bug.

4. Even without the above, the game is really monotonous. Even just one variation on the graphics would've worked wonders.

It's a nice start, though, I'll give you that much.

I was initially kinda confused as to what to do (I had missed your first paragraph, so that's entirely my fault).

The graphics looked nice and clean, and the little pop when you cleared a tile gave some nice feedback.

I didn't really enjoy playing it, really, but I'll give credit where it's due.

Box by ShaunJS 2014-12-08T23:35:00

It didn't work on my computer.

Something about a bad Cabinet?

Robo Pusher by WaffleWorks 2014-12-08T22:28:00

OUCH THE MUSIC. Seriously, it felt like someone was applying a drill to my brain.

Other than that, I didn't hit any glitches, so that was nice. I wish there was a bit more feedback when you got hit (Maybe there was a chime or a beep or something; I couldn't hear it over the music).

I didn't really have fun, though, because the robot's hitbox seems to be a bit too big, and it moves a bit slowly, so the game got a lot of cheap hits in :p. If either of those issues were fixed, I think it would be a great deal more enjoyable.

Woah. That screen is MASSIVE. I'm having problems playing it because I have to scroll around to see anything.

I Can See Everything by Deranes 2014-12-11T20:45:00

The controls were too loose; normally I'd let this slide, but torture platformers NEED tight controls.

Still, nice use of the theme.

Super Pong Invader Stuff by PentaHelix 2014-12-11T20:15:00

I really liked it; the transitions between games were smooth and the graphics looked nice. I also didn't have any issues with the controls.

One thing I think could be changed would be to make the timer visible before the end; still, good game all around.

Game System by Catwheel 2014-12-11T20:35:00

You know, this was pretty decent; took me a minute or two to figure out how to solve it. Clever.

I did hit a glitch, however; I had it open in fullscreen, and it. Would. Not. Close. I had to shut my computer down to close it.

Light in the Dark by Olive 2014-12-08T22:20:00

You know, I didn't expect you to be [REDACTED] at first, so that was a nice surprise.

Other than that, it felt like all the choices were essentially random; I was not really a fan.

Octorope by OctoTeam 2014-12-08T23:11:00

I really liked this; your team did a good job!

I would love to see a longer game with this sorta premise; I'd also love to get into that treasure room!

Thanks! I actually started it late, but I managed to squeeze some time between classes to write up some room descriptions.

Did you [!] the carpet on the stairs? Or the deactivated cleaning-pod?

Anyway, I'm glad you liked it; it's my first time doing Ludum Dare, and I wasn't too sure if the game I made was "fun".

Bjorn McGomez I: Lobsterman Menace! by pfitzner 2014-12-08T23:32:00

Try going through the bathroom window and [!] the lobsterman there. You'll get a nice item out of it ;).

Also, high ground is your friend! Use it to get the drop on your enemies.

I also have some hearing problems, so any music I would have picked would have been terrible.

Dang it, I forgot to have the screen update when you got the Data-Screen. I'm glad everyone enjoyed it.

I am hearing that I should make the controls clearer next time, though.

Gnome's Dungeon by madmaw 2014-12-08T22:41:00

Did you just make Snakes and Ladders?

Let me revise that: did you make Snakes and Ladders AWESOME?

I could play this thing for hours.
