I think this is nice game idea, really cool.

Hehe, really enjoyed it. Nice one guys! Sound effects were amazing :P
I enjoyed the derpy main character and his well done animations. The looping world effect was neat! Oh and the zombie monster sounds made me laugh haha
I loved the game, but a run into a bug when a fall off the map beside the bug I really loved the game
I really wanted to like it. The concept is good and I was hoping to enjoy it... but... looks like you can sprint and jump at the same time. When holding shift the space bar doesn't register (on WebGL). So, I can barely make the first platform and unable to make it to the second. Am I doing something wrong? It just doesn't seem possible to make that second jump. If I'm doing something wrong, let me know, otherwise with a bit of a controls tweak I think this could be really fun.
Great game, super cute, controls are super smooth. Love the green dude that goes Hruughhehhururhh
Thanks so far! Glad to read the positive feedback :) @boaz I'll take a look at that later, can you tell me at which level you encountered this bug? I'll fix that in a newer version :) @hungrycatgames Yes, that's true, you should be able to sprint jump. Which browser are you using? I tried Chrome, Opera GX and Firefox, where the Sprint Jump worked for me. Alternatively theres a windows build available :)
I think level one @feraligatr
Nice game. But I don't see why you wouldn't set sprint as a default movement, holding Shift all the time is kinda tiring.
first of all controls was a little weird . and character could be better "head specialy", and maybe music gets boring after a while very cool and funy animations, very weird and funny zombie guy( he screames at us and we die XD ) i realy liked it also i guess u shouldnt do development build for web its larger .im not sure.
Sound effects where great! the curve world was beautifull too. Jump and run also good, but changing directions needs to be improoved.
Bright and colorful, wish there were more obstacles maybe
Not sure why sprint is on a key when you always want to sprint, maybe just have the character always run next time?
I had a chuckle playing this game. The animations, sound effects and characters are quite charming. Good control over the character. Overall, fun and quirky
Simple, cute and fun. It was better to think of something simple and finish/polish it Good job.
As you asked for feedback, Iām actually going to give you some advice: go ahead! It's been a year since I participated in my first LD (if you want to see my first game, from last year, and compare it to what was done in this LD). So keep developing!
Cool concept, i liked the angry zombie guy.
Quite a fun game! Not a bad dynamic runner, I think it would be nice for mobile devices!
Awesome little game, loved the implementation of the theme, and the sound effects of the zombie were really funny. Great job
Nice, good job
I liked it! The levels got pretty repetitive after awhile though. It seemed like there wasn't really any downside to running all the time, so I just held that down... Which also made it easy to just run past the zombie instead of hitting it with the pellet (which is always given right in front of the zombie, which doesn't give any challenge). Maybe have situations where you have to save a shot for a tricky zombie to get past, like narrowing the path or something, and then having you run past a zombie that is easier to get around? It also seems like the running mechanic should either have a stamina bar or something, or just have it always on instead of needing to hold a key down. I would also say that the animations at the beginning and end were cool to start with, but after a few levels, it would have been nice to be able to skip those animations, as they were pretty long. Overall though, this was a really good entry. Nice job!
Thanks so far for all your feedback! Milmalissa and I will take that feedback and continue developing the game after the jam and will gladly consider it for further development :)
I loved the graphics and sounds haha, i think the little battle could be more explored, but in general, i really liked!
A lot of great pieces coming together here! Nice work :)
I loved the quirky characters (main and zombie), animations and sound. Great job for a first game jam! Some feedback: - bullets are always given right before a zombie, so there is not really a point to saving bullets - you can't save more than one bullet at a time (?), I was saving up some bullets and then found out I could shoot only one!
Is there an end to this game? I tried a couple of different things (e.g. shooting the tower, shooting the angry guy to the left of the path by the darker grass level, killing all the zombies), but... I was stuck in a loop!
Nice little game here. Cool music, I must be on drugs bet felt some 80's/90's cartoon vibe here š
Fun gameplay, to be honest didn't find any major flaw.
Good job!
The game was nice and idea was great.
There are few bugs - like sometimes you can't avoid zombie, no matter what you do; or animations can't be skipped (when you restart multiple times it seems too slow).
Other than that, I enjoyed the game!
Keep up the good work.
Fun!
animated characters, curved world, shadows, nice colours, good music. It looks like everything has gone right with this submission. The gameplay was difficult. But your process of creating assets and content must be very amazing for the end result to be this good in such short amount of time.
Nice entry! I liked how the levels changed in theme throughout. Initially I thought this game was going to be the first level but with a different theme with new obstacles for each (Icicles or maybe a the zombie guy is frozen etc). The flamethrower turning into a snowthrower(?) kinda toys with that idea. Since it's your first jam it would be cool to see you guys expand on it and release a post jam version. Good work though! Excited to see if you expand on it in the future!
Good job with the lively animations and cute character models.
I have one quibble with the controls. I'm using a laptop with a touchpad right now, which makes it awkward to reach for the left 'mouse' button at the same time as using keyboard controls. An alternate control for shooting (right shift, maybe?) would have made the controls more flexible for people with different setups.
Also, there's no reason to move left or right, if you expand on this that'll be an obvious route to go.
Like the art style of this world and I like the nice little animations including the macarena for winning. One thing that stood out for me was the feedback of the audio and visuals (aka the platform shaking for the fall or the zombie growling in close range). Amazing work.
It's really hard to rate after I've seen that you had some prepared online assets in use. Now I don't know really what you've done in this 72h. The concept of the game was pretty interesting, but the implementation lacks quite some things. The sidewards movements feel kind of "whackey". Don't know how to describe it. So does the shootin / attacking part. It gets boring quite fast. I like the graphics and the artstyle of the game. With a bit more time this could be beautiful. The audio was awesome, but I think you didn't do this yourself. So were the animations, same thing here.
I think it was ok for a gamejam project, but it needs some big improvements.
A solid plateformer! I feel that the character should skip the get up animation when he die. It is a little bit too long in my opinion.
Simple and charming art style and solid gameplay. It got a bit repetative after the second level or so. I was hoping to see something new but it never game. Solid little game, could be great for small kids.
@snotax I cannot fully relate to what you say. It is clearly stated what we've been making and what we've been using from foreign sources (see "Foreign Assets"). We even opted-out of "Audio" because we largely used assets from other sources here (except for the zombie guy SFX).
Just to clarify: Every other asset was made by ourselves, the tower, the turret, the character model, the environment props, the concept, the coding, level design, ..., you name it. So I don't really see what cannot be rated. The game offers enough impressions to rate every category.
@feraligatr Because you wrote about textures, skyboxes and animations. So it's a bit difficult to see what exactly you meant. Bit thats no problem at all :D
Great job making this game for your first jam. It's a solid platformer. The animations are very good!
Love the rolling pin world and the platforming, rigging was exceptional on the character and zombie. Great work!
Those are tremendous animations!
the curved world was a nice touch! bonus points for including a funny victory dance
I really enjoyed it! Some small details: -the shaky platforms shook a little too much, considering they also moved the character, and therefore the camera - Gameplay-wise, I didn't enjoy or see the appeal of the green balls, since our targets (the zombies) were always placed right ahead. - the "reset" animation felt long to me. I feel if it was shorter that would be nice? Otherwise, nicely built game! I enjoy the feel of the music, the vibe is real nice, the character dancing the macarena at the end is a fun touch. I do feel like it would have been cool if, instead of generic stages, the game was looping around a world until certain things were unlocked, or conditions met, that make the tower available or make it appear, allowing for a looping spherical world that you keep going through but adding more and more as you go Nicely done!
Quite good for a first jam. I could nitpick on a lot of things but i feel like they've already been brought up by previous players.
Cool idea and great effort! I really enjoyed the animations and the music. As others have mentioned it would have been cool to put the zombies further in the level instead of right behind the green balls. Nice job!
Good job for a first jam entry, for me I would personally like to be able to control my direction in the air after jumping just to get a greater sense of control. Overall though, a good effort and a funny entry!
i simply ran besides the zombies and never killed any :)
This dude's little victory dance is the best thing ever! Animations in general were very good, solid game for your first jam!
