It's always nice to try out your games for your very unique style. In this one the power of the battery ran out a little too quick, but it was very nice that I got to play around at zero battery and find all the things the game requested me to find. It would have been nice if something happened as I completed the tasks (maybe there were if I had managed before battery ran out). The fact that I could play with zero battery was a bit strange, even if I really liked that I got to explore the game without the stress. The whole restart of the game and that there was no exit was a bit wonky. In the calendar, it kind of looked like the calendar shone through the text about the events for some reason (not that it really mattered). I was a bit surprised that I couldn't click on the Saturday for the party in the chat and I clicked to about 40 in the game and I would have liked getting some Easter egg about there. In total, as always, an interesting experience.
Unique style! Innovative game, it is frustrating that the battery ran out too fast, but well, it is the idea ;)
Nothing beats messing with the other person's phone. I missed flash games so much! That's a great approach to the theme - almost every game did something similar, yet here it feels natural. My only complaint is that there's no sound :<
It's a good idea, and the art is really fine, love the black & white + 1 color and shaky outlines, but unless I'm missing something, the game's not there. Battery's running down awfully quick, that'd be ok if there was a way to reload it, but there isn't, the game ends on an empty battery pic, nothing I can do except closing and relaunching the game. I managed to find 1 answer, at best I guess I could have 2, but it's clear I won't get all answers in one play. I know it's only a 2 days dev, but I think you should have tried the jam and use that necessary extra day. But again, you quite have it concerning the theme, innovation and graphics.
This was a beautiful idea with a gorgeous execution!!!!! Great approach to the theme, lots of tension, and incredible illustrations, all in such a short time. Kudos!
This is impressive! The visual presentation is superb, and I absolutely loved the fact that you have to actually charge the phone when the battery is dead, instead of restarting the game!! Such a great touch. And the little things like the game app (that only makes you run out of time haha), the face camera filters, the messages... are all great details that make the experience complete and memorable!
Only problem is, the battery runs out way to quickly. So it made me instinctively click on everything to get a clue before the battery died again. If I were you I'd set the time to around 2 minutes, for example, so there is time to carefully read and think about what you are reading and where the next clue may be in, instead of creating an urgency that ultimately goes against the content and the "information processing" nature of the intro's premise.
The rest is just so great!
Without the battery issue, this would definitely be my favourite entry for this ludum dare. Great work!
Lovely art style. I started the game a few times until I memorized where all the info is and then managed to get 11 points in "Game" before power ran out after I found all the informations. I guess with more content (I imaging more people in different situations, may a clique?) and more time to discover everything on the phonethis could become a nice game.
Only thing that bugged me is that the anroid version can't be played in portait mode while the ingame phone clearly is. It'd be nice if the ingame screen covers the whole screen on mobile. :)
Wow. This was a lot more fun than I was expecting. I loved the concept and would really like the idea to be expanded upon! Well done!
The concept is really interesting. Mimicking real device is a great idea. I didn't find all the info, but it was fun. Surprisingly, I enjoyed game over state with charging the phone animation. :)
Hope you can't beat the game just by pushing all the buttons in every app.
And yeah, art is AWESOME. Thanks for the game!
I beat the game but nothing happened, I guess I didn't beat it good enough. The graphics were nice and playing on the mobile version were really immersing.

Very good entry, one of the best I've played so far and it was not even the post-jam version. The idea is good and the realisation is even better. I bet the post-jam version fix the balancing of the game and allow a proper restart. Refreshing experience, thanks for the game !
Edit : Wow, the animated outro is just freaking good :D Nice job !
Neat!
Tried the jam version and had quite some issues with it! Thanks for the fixes you made in the post-jam version (aspect ratio, etc).
I agree with the above comment that the little mini-world you've set up to explore is packed with interesting stuff but I'm betting most of it is lost to your players because of the nagging time limit. I honestly feel like throwing away the entire "running out of power" element might have made for a more enjoyable experience, though I guess different.
Wish that the phone would have charged faster.....hah, I guess that's realistic though. WTB usb-c charging...
Great animatons! It feels very playful.
The post-LD version is quite good. The pling sound when you find the answers is great. Audible feedback always makes the game feel a lot more complete. Beautiful graphics and animations. I still feel that the battery runs out too fast, and whenever he puts it to charge I just restart the game instead of waiting for it to charge. What I'd suggest is let the player click a button to charge the phone (such as holding down space), and if you forget to charge and the battery runs out, you lose.
The rating I give you is based on the LD version.
Very creative idea for the theme! The jam version had a few bugs so I couldn't finish it but I did solve a few of the puzzles. Loved the graphical style. Keep up the good work!
Really nice rotoscoping but god was the charging sequence painful! Its the main detractor for me personally. Otherwise a really bold and interesting art style and fun mechanics!
I really like the game you made, it's very original. However the battery was too unfair; it took a long time to charge and it discharged really quick, so at the end i was clicking everything as fast as i could instead of actually reading or paying atention to anything. The game runs in the background so i'm waiting for the battery to recharge while i write this lol. Anyway, very cool. Good job!
Man I loved the art, for real it is insanely well done, it is not a "classic" beatiful art, but is a unique type of art, very good, amazing job !
The art style was stunning, though my brain cannot move at the speed required to do anything. This feels like a really interesting game idea, but the use of the theme and running out of battery I feel hindered the game. While it fits the theme and makes it very hectic, I don't think its very fun to run out of battery. I would love to see more of this without the battery mechanic. Very well executed on all other fronts though!
Seems like the battery runs a bit too quick, and when resetting it doesn't go back to 100% :P
I really like the concept and gameplay here, it's very interesting to play a game about gathering information from your phone. :D
The art is great and the game interface is really well done , I love it. I wanted to request a skip for the charge time till I realized that it would negate the effect of the only penalty in the game. I like the idea of tinkering in a phone for information but I feel that the game would be better if in later versions, it ignored the jam theme and focused on more complex information gathering game mechanics instead of the time penalty. Another suggestion is to add actions that can be done outside the phone while the phone is charging. Overall, it is a great game and I like it a lot.
Fantastic art, I am definitely a little nostalgic for the Flash-era style! I played through the compo version a few times and discovered some of the answers, but couldn't figure out how to recharge the battery. Regardless, I love the idea of a time-bound mobile phone detective adventure :) It reminds me a little bit of Her Story, where you need to piece together what happened after the fact. Nice work!
I scrolled through the comments pretty quickly but it seems like a lot of people really appreciated the art, myself included. Simple art style but it clearly shows you everything that you need to see and nothing more. I really appreciate how well you did with the art. The game was interesting but a bit too simple. I think that you could have made the gameplay a bit more interesting by having the player click on the actual text that the player was searching for instead of just anywhere on the screen that had the information they were looking for. Also the recharging phase was a bit boring, I think it would have been cool to have a small minigame on that screen; even if it was something just a simple as rapidly clicking the mouse to charge the phone faster.
Beautiful game, and interesting story. Great job on your complete game!
This is a great piece. Love the style and animation. I never felt like I had enough time to explore but it was nice doing it.
Played the Post-Jam version.
Brilliant graphics, audio serviceable. The concept is great too, if only the design didn't have a fatal flaw.
Recharging... Why is recharging a possibility? While the phone is recharging there is nothing to do. The battery runs out in mere 35 seconds while it takes a full minute to recharge. This means that on my first playthrough I spent more time looking at the recharging phone doing nothing, than actually hunting for information. That is boring, lame and dreadful design.
Here's what I would have done, just for perspective. There is no charger, the battery has about 4 minutes of juice left after which the character has to leave (for some reason). Find the answers quick! Once the time is up there is an epilogue. Here the information found affects the rest of the character's life in all sorts of ways.
For instance: if you found 0 pieces of information the character misses the party, becomes a social outcast and ends up in a crappy job; if you only found out about the party, then the character makes a fool of himself loosing his confidence causing some terrible things to happen in the future; if you do manage to find all the data then everything is all sunshine and happiness. You'd get to do a bit of writing is what I'm going at. Maybe that is not your thing, it's fine.
Currently what you have is *puzzle* / *dexterity challenge*, the world is full of these. Shifting the focus to finding information to cause different outcomes would make this into more of a *digital experience* / *interactive short story*. I'd prefer that at least.
Ok work. I have high hopes, is all.
Played the jam version: loved the art style and the general idea. It may be more fun if it has some sort of narrative like "A Normal Lost Phone", but is also ok to have to do with mundane stuff.
In the jam version the battery is a little to fast.
I played the original jam version and oh boy, it's great! Graphics are really great, the idea of the game is super fun, and it plays great. I wish there was an ending, and more time to figure stuff up because in the state it was in, it was mostly a die and retry until you've memorised everything.
But yeah, fantastic work! Congrats~
Very nice graphics. I tried both the jam and post version, the battery life runs out pretty fast in both of them, in post it would be nice to be able to choose how long you want to charge your phone instead of waiting untill it's all done. Overall nice work!
In recent years, the world of technology has seen a drastic change. Gone are the days of using archaic methods to communicate or store information. With advances in technology, people can now do things that they never thought possible.[caribbean food catering](https://www.christophers-caterers.co.uk/)
