This game is great. Seen a lot of the 'spinning world' thing but I just love bashing that moon into those cities.

I love the bashing mechanics! It;s pretty fun to bash into the planet! Great Game!
An excellently done game with interesting gameplay mechanics. The world crushing is a lot of fun to do, your graphics are on point, and the music (especially with two alternating tracks) is really well done.
Really satisfying to bash into the world. Nice art. Very fun entry. If you get a chance check out our game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole.
So juicy! Great pixel art graphics and bashing feels good as hell. Great job. What about the tracks? Freaking awesome. I didn't understand one thing though: sometimes I'd rotate super fast, sometimes super slow. Was there some sort of relation between blue bar and speed?
Awesome job!
Great style and the particles look great.
Very satisfying to smash stuff.
Thanks so much for the feedback guys!
@glimaleite if you double tap you move faster, the blue bar only shows the amount of bashing you can do and it actually replenishes faster when you are moving faster, I still have to tweak the cooldown time for the doubletap speed though.
Great art! The planet itself looks very cool. I got the hang of dodging missiles after a few plays. Dying the first few times was a little anticlimactic.
Looks really cool but I can't download any games into my C:\ can you update with a non installer file and maybe just an executable? Will update.
Fantastic Game! Great aesthetic. Music that gets you in the mood to smash skyscrapers. And a satisfying game loop. Only thing I felt was missing was a death animation. Deaths felt abrupt and jarring, completely taking me out of the experience.
A challenging (i.e, fun!) entry. Bashing is very enjoyable due to the sweet, sweet juiciness. Quality looks and sounds too!
A few niggles of course: - Keeping the bash button down should bash again and again. Timing your bashes is a rare choice used in dodging. Most of the time I just want to continually bash away.
- Missiles should always be build on the surface of the planet. It is a risk trying to destroy them before launch and as such a compelling choice. You should always give the player those.
Good work!
Rock music, brutal style and challenging gameplay? I like it. Game over was a bit unexpected due to lack of "death animation" and non-consistent healthbar. But the game feels great anyway.
Hammura-Hamburger - nice track.
Here is my playtest: https://youtu.be/8W8cXQXEAVw Thank you!
Funny game, cruel world :D After all it is getting a little boring, although velocity of the game is high. Good concept and great job!
Neat game idea and well done!
Certainly a different take on the theme.. I like the art.
Good graphics, I love the tilt shift! That's some well executed planet bashing!
Wow the soundtrack, crazy cool! Satisfying and meaty feeling controls and gameplay, I'm impressed by the level of polish that your game managed to achieve in just a couple of days. I love the inversion of being the one attack the planet vs. the usual (space invaders, missile command, etc.)!
Wow, this game is impressively polished! Nice visuals and great audio. Good job
My main complaint is the lack of depth. To me it seems like the most effective way is to simply double tap to the side and keep spinning in that direction while spamming smashes. Make the double tap a short sprint with a cooldown instead of a continuous thing, or make the enemies hit me more effectively when I'm only circling.
I also do not like that it comes with an installer. Just give me a zip or something.
My highscore: 1499686
Very nice! Love the music and art. Smashing is perfect.
Really cool soundtrack that perfectly assists the mood in this game and maked me want to lay all the buildings on that planet to waste (especially when the people start to shoot at me). It has great pixel art to.
A simple game with few but very effective elements, that create an intensiv mood. Nice!
Smashing into the planet is a lot of fun, and as many have said before, quite satisfying. I really like the art, too. Nice job!
Thanks for all the feedback everybody!
@sebasrez and @headmade I figured out how to make it a standalone exe so you don't have to install anything anymore :)
Beautiful art and simple but very satisfying gameplay. Most important thing is that smashing feels very good to do!
This was pretty awesome. The metal soundtrack really highlighted the mood, and everything seemed pretty well balanced. Great job!
That level of polish is crazy. Really well done, it's really fun to play, and the music create just enough pressure to make to mood perfect.
Awesome work guy!
Glad you were able to add the .exe version. Very cool game and tight controls. I will admit the high speed spinning can get me a bit dizzy, but I have a low tolerance for motion-sickness. and the music is amazing.
-Great graphics -Great music -Tight controls
-Cheesing the missiles by running around in one direction was easy, I flattened the world multiple times. It almost seemed like I was able to crush more when travelling left and right Small, but great entry, I feel like it was way to easy to beat though. Holding one direction and timing your pounds made things pretty simple for me! My score was 3661002, which seems rather high. Otherwise a great entry!
Okay, you made it!
One of the bests ld38 entries. This game is funny, and cool! Good graphics and good music! The way you made the sound fits with the gameplay ... Awesome!
But I had a bad problem while playing ... Keep spinning around the planet made me VERY, VERY, VERY dizzy. I had to leave the computer for a few minutes after playing. This is very bad ... I do not know how you can solve this problem, but maybe, if you reduce visual information (like the stars) while spinning fast, and apply a motion blur will help prevent this issue.
But I do not wanna reduce your merits for this awesome game because of this.
Good job!
DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE .In beginning i didn't get what is goal but after few second it was enjoyable. Rock music with explosions and spinning fast was impressive GREAT GAMEEE :D
That's some amazing presentation, both in the audio- and graphics department. Paired with a great theme and fun gameplay, this is a very solid entry.
This is a very very good entry. Bash mechanics worked great - music and effects work very well and i love how grumpy the moon is :D
Took a while to get used to the timing of movement and bashing for dodging etc. but a really fun entry - well polished and great use of the theme.
Well done!
Okay, seriously. This might be my favourite game in this jam.
You can just **feel** that anger. That moon really doesn't care for what happens down there, and he's pissed as hell.
The mechanic is simplicity itself for the player (though I imagine it was quite a hassle to code just right), but enjoyable beyond belief. You really nailed the animation, audio/visual feedback and general feedback for the player.
What amazes me here, is that you very clearly create affordance for all the elements - after a few brief moments it was clear that tall buildings = more health and more movement, rockets = bad, smashing = good, all that without a single word. That's good design.
Music may not suit all the players, but I love it, for me it's just right. And all the animation and little touches (screenshake, debris and so on) really give it polish.
So far, with a few plays and highscore **891932** I can't really find anything I'd improve here. For me it's great as it is.
Tremendous work, really well done.
Cheers, and stay awesome!
Impressive. I did not get nauseated. Good music, good graphics. Wonder.

ok, now that I've well beaten my previous hiscore - do you consider adding a hard mode? Or is my score still sucky by the game standards? :)
Thanks everybody by your awesome response and insight into my game! I am super thankful!
In the post-jam version of the game I have already addressed stuff like the motion sickness caused by the camera movement and position, I have also added dynamic ramping difficulty, so it gets progressively harder in speed and enemy toughness. Special modes and powerups are being added right now aswell as an improved post death screen that will detail the run with more detail.
@takusan that score is pretty high! Expert mode sounds like something that could be fun to be added into the game.
Enjoyed playing this one. I felt it was a bit too easy, and wasn't sure if I was cheating or found a bug by double tapping left/right to move quicker. I didn't immediately realize the goal, and not sure if it just keeps on going? Kind of wish there was some kind of either end, or visual bonus for doing damage to the planet. Animation was great, and soundtrack was amazing. Overall a very solid entry.
Cheers!
