Very cool how there's lots of animation! It would be kind of nice to have a little music next time so they can rock to the beat!

loool! So nice! Thanks for that laughing =)

Interesting idea. The art looks good and the animations are funny. It is a bit frustrating that when you loose, you have to start from the beginning. Maybe just restarting against the current enemy would be better?

Nice game :)

Hahaha this is too funny, humor definitely 5. That sun is definitely the champ. Everything looks great and plays well. Sound and effects would have really elevated it to the next level when you make that round 2!

I could win agains the 3rd planet, I am not good :D Very nice animations. I enjoyed :)

Oh god, I love this game. I felt in love with 2D graphics and I had a lot of fun while moving around in a boxing ring. This game is the best mate, congratulation for this simple and amazing idea to small world theme.

Want to play ARMS but don't want to buy a Nintendo Switch? Here's a fun alternative.

Galaxy Glove looked hilarious and silly from the gif, so I had to check it on my own. And I indeed had some stupid fun with it. The idea of planets just duking it out with boxing gloves was too funny to let it slip, and I must say, I am pleased with what I played.

Graphics and sounds are basic, possibly given the limited time of the compo, but even then, they look just fine. Even when pixelated, everything looks so lively because of the animations. Never underestimate the power of a bit of jiggling and a bit of bouncing.

Gameplay wise, the game is fun for a run or two. You move, you attack, keep your distance, and hope that the huge planets don't corner you. It's simple, yet effective. It loses a bit of shine when you realize that you can pretty much just attack and back up with little to no risk though.

Regardless, I liked this one a lot too. I like the idea of taking to the absurd the theme. I'm particularly fond of those that ended up humanizing the planet, like this boxing game (and our team's, but I shouldn't do a shameless plug :P). I can picture this being one of those games that streamers showcase because of the absurdity of the concept. I laughed, and I'm still grinning like the fool I am. Congratulations, and good luck on the compo! If you happen to have a Twitter account, our team would like to follow you around, should you come up with more cool stuff in the future :whale:

This game deserves a multiplayer mode!

Really cool game, my suggestions below.

******

Pros

+ Nice game design + Fits theme perfectly + Excelent mood (fighter, crowd, ring/floor details, animations) + Graphics: simple but effective + Funny

******

Cons

- No "How to Play" screen; - A.I. too simple (I have no idea how to code a good one for this game, tough ) - Is there a multiplayer? (THIS GAME NEEDS ONE) - No BGM

This is a top quality game ! The attention to details is really impressive. This is really fun and creative, I really enjoyed it. The only downside is when you loose you go back to the first fight, this is so frustating ! Aside from that I freaking loved this game.

Hah, most peculiar! :D At first I thought the opponent's health increase per round would make it too hard for me, but I got through it and rejoiced in victory with my four trophies. :D The game has a lot of character. Additional audio would have helped it some more I think. The art style is fun and everything wobbling makes it feel pretty dynamic. Nice one! :D

This was a good one! The art was nice and the popping sounds were light and pleasant. It all added up to a very cute game. The gameplay was alright, in my opinion, but it got a little stale. Towards the end I knew how to win and pretty much just kited the enemies until I could get a couple hits in. I think that this could be remedied with a bit of a faster move speed and some sort of block mechanism. All things considered, though, this was a solid entry with an interesting take on the theme. Nice work!

PS: You and I both had a go at personifying the planets for this Ludum Dare. If you're interested in seeing how I drew them out, my entry is over here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/rovr

Cheers!

The animations are obviously hilarious. After losing to the second guy, i figured i'd out-reach them, which worked to the end. It's a really nice concept, i'm sure you can build on top of this to add more depth. Very good entry, i really enjoyed playing it!

kosmo 2017-05-02 21:27

I loved the animations! Really well done. I also think you nailed the theme in a way that is unique. My biggest criticisms are that its a tad easy (although I'm not sure how you make it more difficult without making it feel cheaply difficult) and that it could really use background music. Also, either in the description or in game somewhere you really should say what the controls are -- I figured it out pretty quickly but still.

Especially for Compo, very well done.

kamikaziuk 2017-05-03 12:14

Love this, very fun little game :). Good use of the theme aswell

matoux42 2017-05-03 12:51

Ahah ! Fun game !

What I like the most it's the theme usage ! Just perfect :ok_hand:

I think you can make your game better with more strategy and with a little tutorial at the begining.

Very nice job !

paulhocker 2017-05-12 23:50

i really loved the animation, but it so needs some music that the characters can bop to - nice artwork, gameplay is fun - very solid entry

richard-michael-smith 2017-05-16 00:21

I had fun with this one. Simple and cute - great humour! Nice work!
