Man, tough game! I hated to throw away this perfect grilled steak... Liked the game very much (although I am a vegetarian), thank you.

The game gets hectic fast, and I like it. Nice to have a video tutorial in there. The order system is a bit on the finicky side though.

I only saw your tutorial video after playing so at first I didn't really know what to do and reading the instructions while cooking was too slow so I restarted once I got what to do. Finished the game during that second try. I really loved the soundeffects, did you record the "zzzsch" yourself? =) I enjoyed the different kinds of meat and their different timing but the game still has some bugs. One time my fish fell through the grid also on Itch, if you don't play in fullscreen mode, you don't see all of the screen. Maybe consider playing with the settings on Itch, that usually helps =)

fun but confusing in a way

Interesting concept, it reminded me a bit of an old diner/restaurant cooking game that I can never recall the name of but enjoyed. The controls work fine, but I struggled to figure out exactly what I wanted to do, and I never did see the tutorial video you mentioned. At the start I kept tossing my burgers in the garbage because the holes looked like plates to me at first. The one thing I'd suggest if you continue working on this is a more granular meter for doneness, perhaps three levels of green to indicate perfect doneness.

It's a interesting and stressing game for me. Yet I know that I am a bad chef ;-)

marccio-silva 2017-05-02 18:48

The instructions were really helpful (even though I noticed they existed after a while of playing and failing). I felt the music was fitting and added to the stress of cooking the orders, and the raw/overcooked functionality really made the game a challenge.

Nice! Very fun once you get the hang of it. I got 51 stars on my last attempt. Boy I would have appreciated a second serving plate. I'm glad I never had a job as a short order cook! :hamburger: :scream:

Well done, I enjoyed it! Fun game even though it took a while to understand/get the hang of it.

tomdeal 2017-05-02 22:30

@budaniel if you time the meat so the indicator is exactly in the middle of the green area, it will add a second star to the sides rating. I just hadn't have the time to include a visual indicator for it, so I left it in as a secret.

@lefaygames yes, that is me doing the sound :-)

I've updated the web version, it now contains a short tutorial image. The downloadble version (the compo version) has the tutorial video integrated, but that was too large for using in the webgl version.

By the way, I do plan to keep working on the game, because I think it has potential, especially as a VR game.

It is a very good management game, your game is very complete  but if I had something to add it is to recieve different orders: with several baking stages according to the orders (maybe have several colors on the baking state bar) although the game is already challenging. :bacon:

I enjoyed it. I think you used a simple gamemechanik in this game, but the result is very good. Great Job! A little bit I am confused, because I didn't find the "small world" in this game but I think you mean kitchen = small world. :)

Grillmeister by DIZELABS - Mozilla Firefox.png THE GRILLMEISTER! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44-RsrF_V_w In all seriousness, the game was fun, the music was good, the difficulty was perfect (for me), and I liked the concept. Good job!

evan-minto 2017-05-04 04:58

Oof, this was fun and genuinely kind of difficult and stressful! It took me a bit to figure out the rules despite all of the explanations, but once I did it really opened up. There's a lot of strategy in there with the different kinds of meat and the ability to cook a lot of things in parallel. It reminds me a LOT of Overcooked.

I *did* notice that sometimes it was hard to get the order to "stick" to the plate on the right, but mostly the controls are pretty tight. Great job!

blackrose 2017-05-07 13:49

Its a good game, fast and entretaining, the dificult its really good. Add a new product to serve it will be perfect. Nice game!

hectigo 2017-05-07 21:06

Well, this was certainly a different game. Pretty smooth controls, liked the physicality.

I may have run into a bug, sometimes orders would not get taken away for me. Though maybe that was related to that I only cooked everything on one side, it didn't seem to matter mostly. So... the flipping mechanic could be more discoverable.

drtizzle 2017-05-20 11:10

A lot of fun to play! Not too original, but it works well and it made me want to play more. It could use some more parameters, for example a penalty for cold food or something. I could put an infinite amount of burgers underneath the serving tray which made it too easy.

Well done!
