Love the visuals. The logic of actions isn't always clear, but I like that there are different endings. I wish there was some music!

vladirien 2019-04-29 20:29

The art style is great! I was a bit confused about what to do though after going through the first panels

dbr 2019-04-29 22:14

I like the dark theme in the game, and nice work with the inventory :D!

beanslasher 2019-04-30 08:23

The systems developed in the jam were amazing. Great job on that, the visuals were dark and gave it a good mood for what you were going for. I think this game has potential. Continue on this project after the jam!

ghayoub 2019-04-30 08:45

Nice graphics, is it me or there is no sound? :/ Overall good job!

generalbeans 2019-04-30 08:57

Awesome asthetic, would like to see more!

fahim-faysal 2019-04-30 16:05

I really like the aesthetics. Sound seems a bit buggy for me. The bgm plays when I begin the game but restarting stops it for some reason. As other have pointed out, the logic behind the item interaction isn't always super clear. It can be very easy to get stuck after dropping an item(picking it up again doesn't seem possible).

I think this game could be amazing if you work on it further after the jam

Edit: Not sure how I ended up making the empty comments

Great visuals, and smooth gameplay overall! Interactions weren't really clear, some indications for interaction possibilites would've been great. Seemed that the sound and music bugged out for me, because through all my sessions I only had like two sound effects.

b3agz 2019-04-30 18:42

The art is really cool, and the gameplay feels satisfyingly solid. As a few other's have said, it's a little confusing to get to grips, maybe a tutorial or how to play screen would be a good addition if you keep working on it. But I like the premise and the feel of the game. Well done.

slotha 2019-04-30 19:17

Thanks everyone for the feedback, I do have some plans for continuing after the jam.

@ghayoub @fahim-faysal @duke The little sounds i got were very last minute so there are only 2 total sounds in the game.

@b3agz @fahim-faysal @duke A Tutorial sounds great! I sis think the item indication in the Game may be a problem, but I haven't found a way to fix that without breaking the color scheme. The mouse does shrink when you hover over something you can interact with, but that's all I could manage.

sockyman 2019-04-30 21:54

Art is great. I love the concept and the game play. It could definitely become a great game with some more work. A lot of the time I had no idea what was going on though. Could do with more sound. Walk speed is way to slow.

jofersgames 2019-05-01 19:50

A little confusing but i still loved it, great job :)

fatpenguin 2019-05-01 20:52

I really like the idea and style, and you even got a sweet story mode/cutscene :) also the dark atmosphere is cool :D I felt like playing a steam indie game. The actions weren't very clear to me to be honest and I just managed to get one ending? But overall a nice LD entry :) Would be cool if you'd keep working on it!

pixscope 2019-05-01 20:56

I love the dark style !

moldymagnet 2019-05-02 03:47

+1, the style is awesome, but there was no audio for me and I couldn't figure out how to interact with things. It feels like it needs more time in the oven, but you should totally keep working on this, it has a great vibe and I was looking forward to seeing more.

slotha 2019-05-02 06:03

Thanks @moldymagnet I am continuing on the project and you can expect it finished soon, And yes there is only 2 sound effects in the game, But that will soon be fixed!

@sockyman I did think about that but had little time left when i did, Working on that top priority in the post LD version.

@jofersgames @fatpenguin I am adding a better tutorial that explains things better that what i have here.

stuartwakes 2019-05-02 06:32

I loved the visual style dark and moody, although I got a "If you are seeing this, the ending was not expected / broken". The logic was non-obvious but took me back to similar point and click puzzle rpg games in the late 80's early 90's, love it... Until I get stuck and end up trying to click on everything.

slotha 2019-05-02 08:10

@stuartwakes Can you explain what you did in order to get the error (everything after the cut scene, who died, where they are, etc...) so i can fix it / Add a new ending for the post LD version?

Thanks in advance and thanks for playing it!

stuartwakes 2019-05-02 12:00

Hey @slotha. Pick up the knife and rubber chicken from the desk. Wander over to the next screen, replace the axe on the log with the rubber chicken. When the other guy comes out to investigate either 1) Go collect the soul and then stab the player standing on the left on the second screen for a "You did well" plus unexpected ending message, or 2) simply stab the person on the left of the screen without collecting the soul for a "You forgot the soul" plus unexpected ending message.

stuartwakes 2019-05-02 12:01

Also if you use the twig on the log, it reappears on the twig pile to the right of the log.

mharring 2019-05-02 17:55

Neat game! The graphics and mood were spot on. Like others, I found it a little hard to tell what you could click on and what you couldn't, but I figured it out after some random attempts. Having multiple endings added some replay value. Nice job!

slotha 2019-05-02 19:14

@stuartwakes Thanks I was able to replicate the broken ending and am working on fixing it now, and the branch was an unfinished feature you would have been able to create a contraption to finish the game rather than dying at the hands of the big dude or the bomb.

@mharring thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

ryusui 2019-05-03 00:44

Not sure I really "got" it. Everything but the axe and soul seemed to require randomly clicking on background objects to obtain.

ruddgasm 2019-05-03 08:00

I like the simplistic art style and the clicking around to find objects remind me of old adventure games. I got a few endings although one of them was broken. I give props to anyone who has multiple endings in their game. I just wish it was easier to know what some of the objects were for because sometimes things didn't seem to make sense. I think with a little more work, you would definitely have something here. Also, audio goes a long way for creating mood and emotion so that would have been nice too.

spirits 2019-05-06 00:29

Loved the art, but the parallax background didn't felt right. Overall good game!
