I really like this game.

However, you should turn Vsync on or place a target frame rate on the game. My fans kept going off and I suspect that its trying to render like 800 fps because unity likes to do that for some reason.

limabean0421 2020-04-21 02:28

It took me a second to understand this, but once I did I really enjoyed it. Very stressful and a great concept. Makes you wonder about how hard it is to maintain so many different things at once as a health care worker. Great idea and great execution.

claybro2021 2020-04-21 02:32

Damn, i really like the interface design in this.

PLAY | DONT

good stuff. Thanks!

Never before have I so frantically dragged poop through a colon. 5/5

I really think the GUI is one of my favorite things about the game. Also, the way the music slows down when you fail, it really conveys the failure and fits the game very well. The low-poly graphics are also very nice. Good job. Although this is not the kind of game that I would ever be able to play very well, I do think that there are other people out there who can pat their head, and rub their tummy at the same time while chewing gum, and this game might be perfect for those individuals. I wish you the best.

matt-lewis 2020-04-21 14:23

Great game, and really beautiful. I didn't get anywhere close to your high score!

adamcyounis 2020-04-22 08:07

God, this was so anxiety inducing. I really liked the presentation and concept here. The granular, literal take on "keep it alive" was strong. I would have liked for the interaction of the systems to be somewhat clearer. It took a few tries before I knew what I was doing, and those first few deaths are sensory overload when things start going wrong. One thing I think would have helped a LOT would be to reduce the amount of "fails" required to lose, but make it such that when you do screw up, everything is reset to an acceptable state. Running that knife's edge of just keeping the plates spinning was the best feeling, but once you lose that, it becomes really uphill. These are pretty minor criticisms, overall your game is really impressive and I think you should be proud of what you made. Great entry!

Amazing! The best game i've played this gamejam and probably the best I will play. It fitted the theme perfectly and was super fun in a stressful way.

mhykah 2020-04-23 08:28

That was a really challenging and interesting game! I only got a score of 1:47. The multitasking aspect of the game really keeps you busy, but understand what you had to do was a bit confusing at first. The graphics were well done and the music and sounds gave off a creepy vibe. This might just be me being bad at the game, but I think it might be an interesting idea to introduce each organ one at a time more slowly (again, might just be me!). Was a fun challenge. Good job!

palsina 2020-04-23 20:36

You need more reviews! It's really well presented, with the mechanics explained and added one by one. Perhaps too difficult for me, but it's really well done.

curleysam 2020-04-23 20:54

This was very stressfull! 😂 I loved the artstyle, it all felt very cohesive. And the audio was great too! All round well put together entry, well done!

2020-04-23 21:33

The game is very intuitive and unique! Though the game does not have that much action, the game is well polished! The game`s name was interesting making me check the Ludum Dare entry. One improvement is that the play button should be in the center of the screen with the stats around it. Also The heart that shows you when to hit the space bar also should be in the center of the screen during game play. Two very minor thing almost preferences. Over all great game!

wheffle 2020-04-24 02:08

As someone who also made a stressful multitasking game... this was so stressful! But in a good way, it was super fun. And kinda creepy in a weird way. The music and the sound effects work really well together to create an atmosphere. I kinda wish each part was introduced one at a time so I had time to figure out what to do, but that's a minor complaint. Really nice entry, and super unique!

2020-04-24 09:50

Challenging game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/Xpc46Nkubiw

taldius 2020-04-27 08:35

Probably one of the best game i've played so far. The idea is really good and the execution is near perfect! Great job!

hugo-kieffer 2020-04-27 09:09

really good presentation, visual and sound are on point, simple idea but very well executed, its a really good entry, good job!

shunaky 2020-04-27 17:28

This is just an awesomely made game, can't see a single bad stuff to point at...

Your game is one of those that I would LOVE to see out there in the wild, it's a great game!!!!

echonia 2020-04-28 00:13

I was there when world record got broke. 5/5 fun stars.

Proud to say I was there when @arthurds "Porno The Dog" typed random words for a full half hour. Also this game is pretty cool.

fatpenguin 2020-04-28 19:40

What a great idea! I really had a blast! The graphics were simplistic and awesome (colours and lighting were great), and the actions for the various organs were pretty clever in combination with the controls and what to do :) That's one of my favourite LudumDare entries :) Could do very very well as a minigame in a bigger game (like.. idk the hacking thing in Bioshock, but this is even more cool!) or as game on the ipad :) (kinda reminded me of spaceteam, check that one out, it's co-op though!) I imagine this can also be quite fun as a co-op game maybe one of the next jackbox party pack or something ^^ really very well done! I'm very impressed what you managed to do on your own, I cant even think of any improvement (I mean, you can ALWAYS improve stuff ^^) but like there wasn't anything particularly that stood out in a bad way. at first I was like.. man, taking a crap is even more complex than in The Fractued but Whole, buuut then I realized, just in reality, you don't have to do the whole thing at once ^^ so my critique is: add a more profound tutorial for dummies :D

Wait! I had another idea! Instead of a mere highscore-is-the-goal thing you can add specific levels and when you manage to end a level flawlessly you get 3 stars, and there could be specific levels like if it's a person with diabetes you have to inject insulin, or with an old person you have to take extra care of the heart oooor like maybe add a clock and the person has to remember to take medication at a certain time, or can get sick etc :)

all in all, great game! :D

skyeward 2020-04-29 02:13

Wow, one of the best LD46 games, and maybe LD games generally, I've seen! Looks gorgeous; fun, intuitive and original gameplay; really satisfying when you play well; and lots of fun little touches like being told your cause of death. This is a game with a clear vision, and everything is beautifully designed to work towards it.

There's not much I could say this needs to improve... Just make more of it! I'd love to see a full game come out of this. Thanks for the submission!

trexxak 2020-04-29 12:25

Mindblowing gameplay, amazing presentation and intuitive point this game communicates. Absolutely fascinating. Thank you for this gem!

eran-haas 2020-05-01 23:49

Fantastic! Audio and art are great! Game play feels really well calibrated. The way it eases you into it works really well and you end up able to handle an amount of chaos that would feel impossible otherwise.

It would have been great to see connections between the organs, timing the digestive system to work together, bad brain increasing heart rate, etc. That is all out of the scope of 72 hours.

Fantastic work!

aurel300 2020-05-02 10:06

Simple and polished. I really enjoy multitasking games. My biggest gripe is that the difficulty curve might be way off. After 20 minutes I just stopped playing, because I didn't feel that the game was getting any more difficult. Some ways I can think of to add more difficulty when all 9 organs are present: shuffle the boxes around; trigger organs more often; make the brain think more complex words; hide the "tutorial indicators" (space next to the heart, drag next to the guts, etc); hide the interior of the organ (for the bladder and the stomach); add temporary challenge organs.

henrycgs 2020-05-02 14:59

@aurel300 "tutorial indicators"? I guess you're playing on the postmortem version. Which suggests you were playing on Easy. Have you tried other modes?

aurel300 2020-05-02 16:11

@henrycgs Yes, running Mac, so can't try the desktop build atm! And that explains that x) I am guessing the first time you play the game it automatically goes into Easy mode, since I don't recall seeing the difficulty selection last time? Maybe the selection (apart from Hive Mind) should be accessible the first time you play? Anyway, yes, medium and hard are much more interesting, and hive mind is fun, though I understand they are post-jam only. In the WebGL build it also seems that typing is a bit strange/delayed. Two more little things: the dragging inside the guts feels really unresponsive, maybe it requires too much precision given the setting? Also if a brain is in the lower left, the word can be obscured by UI.

jmad 2020-05-05 23:38

The game is just perfect.

groggi 2020-05-08 23:23

Finally got the time to test your game! Absolutely fantastic! 5 Stars from me. Loved everything.

emperor-eagle 2020-05-09 02:06

Brilliant game! Simple yet intense. You've created a great mood and the game is well made and polished. Great graphics and audio, and your interpretation of the theme is 5 star! (Innovation 5 star as well!) I really enjoyed playing this entry and thought it was genuinely one of the best! The only advice I have is to have multiple difficulties that introduce the new body parts at a slower/faster rate to help new players (but I got used to it very quickly, so that's good)! Overall, spectacular game and a really good effort! I've given it really high ratings and look forward to seeing this in the leaderboards! Masterpiece!

henrycgs 2020-05-09 02:28

@emperor-eagle thanks for the kind words! I did add multiple difficulties in the post-jam version, haha!

emperor-eagle 2020-05-09 02:32

@henrycgs Ok! I guess you're ahead of me on that one! I just played the original one. Good work!

alchemic 2020-05-09 06:27

This was quite difficult to play! Trying to juggle that many things at once was very challenging.

There wasn't a lot of feedback on one of the organs (I think the one that filled the screen with particles?). This seems fixed in the post-jam version.

I had a really hard time physically moving my hand around the keyboard to type and hit Enter and spacebar. It would be better if all the keys that are used were limited to the left side of the keyboard, but that would limit the brain typing to words like "fever" and "xasderew".

I like the simple, arcade feel. Makes it really easy to jump into and play.

sageware 2020-05-09 07:42

Stunning graphics, pleasant music, nerve-inducing sound effects and mechanics. Great choice of color palette. Definitely a game where you have to practice to get better at it. I want a mobile version of this, I feel like touch/swipe mechanics would work so well.

ddrkirbyisq 2020-05-09 08:29

Hey there!

**It looks like you've used third-party assets in your game -- specifically, the main backing music track. This is totally fine, however as per the [official rules](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/rules) you need to OPT OUT of the corresponding (audio) category:**

> You’re free to use 3rd party Artwork/Music/Audio assets, or assets you previously created, but we ask that you **OPT-OUT** of the respected voting categories (Graphics, Audio). You can opt-out of a voting category when you submit your game.

There's actually also a submission checklist that you had to agree to upon submitting a game, which includes opting out of the appropriate categories. We all make mistakes though, so I'm more than happy to give you the benefit of the doubt here ;)

You can and should still opt out of the category now by editing your entry. I've voted you as 1 star in audio in the meantime -- please remove the rating so we're all following the rules! :)

That aside...

I played the compo version! Someone was bound to execute this idea well in this jam. The number of organs to deal with ramped up quite quickly, I feel like there are bound to be players that feel very rushed in trying to learn each of the organs -- learning the first few is trivial, but then it's very difficult to devote enough of your brain to learn each new one while juggling the previous ones. But perhaps you've already addressed that in the post-jam version (?) I can see this mayyyybe (?) working well with a sort of "keep talking and nobody explodes" system where you mix and match different organs to create different difficulty sets.

Anyways, great job :)

henrycgs 2020-05-09 15:21

@ddrkirbyisq well... that's why I think "sound" and "music"should be different categories... I did make all the other sounds...

But I guess you're right.

dane-tesla 2020-05-09 21:09

5/5, a perfect entry. I love multitasking games, even the easy mode was hard somehow xD Amazing!
