Woah dude, that was great. Really fun, gets more difficult, the artwork is insane (blew my mind) and I thought the audio suited it very well. I think you did a good job on addressing the theme too. Great game, well done

My score was 7677. Looked and sounded great, and was fun to play.
score was: 8349 great graphics and snappy gameplay .I always love when developers add a good options menu. critique: game got fast too quick and it was hard to see forward. I didn't really see a connection with the theme of the jam either.
My score was

I like the concept, however, as others have pointed out here, I am not quite sure how it connects to the theme other than you inevitably crash. Delay the inevitable crash?
I don't know if it was just something I was doing wrong but the controls were not working for me. No matter what key I pressed the car wouldn't move.
Edit: It was because my controller was connected and I didn't notice!
Great mood! A pretty fun gameplay too, the audio combined pretty well with the speed increase. The bloom was a little bit high for my eyes, but other than that, I loved the visuals :) Great job.
The lanes taking damage instead of the player is so good. Really fun. Some obstacles feel unavoidable as the game gets faster, but that's my only critique.
The controls did not work for me at all. Looked great though.
nice game, I really enjoyed the graphics and the vibe (also the music) and the gameplay felt very solid especially for a gamejam game I would however recommend to add a bit of interpolation for switching lanes or some teleport effects like particles or chromatic aberration flashes
@david-york Did you have a controller connected? That was what my problem was, it was only taking inputs from the controller when connected.
No
same problem as @david-york :(
@labete @david-york I've now added a new version which should fix your input issues. Would be happy if you give the game another shot.
@archangel Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction as the gamepad input was indeed the issue here.
@danonino @ideaspersecond Regarding the interpretation of the theme: Yes the inevitable part is that you will crash at some point. You can only delay this by healing your lanes to give you as much room as possible to dodge. When you're down to one lane you will have to face the inevitable game over with nop more opportunity to delay it.
@epu Animating the switching of the lanes was something we were thinking about. We decided against it due to time constraints and the danger of making it too confusing when you are quickly switching lanes and leaving "shadows" behind and risking it feeling less snappy. The chromatic abberation flash is a cool thought. WOuld just be afraid that it might add to much visual noise on top of the already very vibrant look.
I had an issue where I would travel at a rate of one lane per frame, making it very difficult to navigate lanes until I was down to two, in which the game became much more manageable. The art looks good, (I'm sucker for outrun aesthetics) and the music was funky. Nice work.

@100th-coin which version were you using and were you playing with keyboard or gamepad?
windows version with the gamepad. The 1.0 version, probably not the "inputFix" build.
@100th-coin Ah yeah that explains it. Gamepad Input was kinda broken in the jam version. Should be fixed in the input-fix version.
@sibi hey, it works now, thanks for fixing :) Nice game, music fits the atmosphere, visuals are pleasant, becomes impossible with increasing speed :) It was fun :)
Great Audio, Theme on point and nice Idea with the lanes taking damage instead of the player. Overall great and fun entry
Really neat game, cool visual! My high score was 12026 :) The music was awesome!
Ah yeah, Beginners luck. Quitting while ahead, didn't get no 17,000 though. Dang @100th-coin

Looks like I got a pretty low score compared to people here, I landed just shy of 7k. I had a lot of fun with this though! I actually get to be the first person to say this, too: it gave me serious audiosurf vibes! It was a fun ride down memory lane in that sense. The music was super fitting too, though the loop was maybe a tiny bit short. Thanks for a fun entry!
A great game, But the lag even on the lowest setting makes the game unenjoyable.
SO ADDICTIVE it was fast and precise with a bit of strategy and the aesthetic is on point :)
Nice game, love the aesthetic. It is an interesting take on the infinite runner with the lanes themselves having health.
Bom trabalho!
I really like visuals, audio and the 80's mood. I think your idea is something like guitar hero or other ritm game, and I think you did it well. I liked the idea of increasing obstacles along the time, but a little more of feedbacks when we hit a wall and a webgl version would be nice. It´s a nice game, if you have some time check my, we to make a "infinity" style game. Thanks!
This is a wonderful looking game. I loved the mechanic of the lanes getting damaged instead of the player. Towards the end it felt close to impossible when the open lanes would be the far left and right back to back. Overall very nice work with a unified style, you nailed the synthwave sort of look.
Good presentation / mood with all the glowing. The music loop wasn't bad, but a bit short. I think early on there are a few too many health pickups - I found myself able to just tank walls because there were pickups right behind them. Maybe a system where the vehicle itself can only take so many hits would add some challenge to the gameplay.
The bloom might have been a bit much for me, but the visuals were still totally rad.
I really liked it! It's got a lot of mood and really nails that vaporwave aesthetic. The game felt pretty relaxed, but it very quickly became frantic. It really is just a matter of time until you wipe out.
10k points...
the game wsas pretty good, i really liked it, i liked the it starts to speed up and if you really oncentrate you can get the game going pretty well, i also liked the mechanic about the tracks having its all healt,
the only thing i would like to see improved is the progression , since it starteda little slow, and then it got really fast and there were a lot of 4 lane obstacles, which made it really hard to evade
congratulations!!
also if you have some time please check out my game, i am almost on 20 votes
Bye bye
