Nice game considering it was made in only 8 hours :) I had trouble understanding how to attack without etting hit, since the attack range is so small... Also the game "crashed" after the first level but I guess this was intended ?

efeckk2 2021-04-27 14:26

@marcenat Thanks for your feedback and for playing. Since I had a small amount of time, I didn't have much time to deal with some issues you already mentioned like attack range. But the game actually did not crash, the paper is supposed to start a dialogue telling you "Thanks for playing. Developer" :) I also noticed that, but for time reason, couldn't fix that. And yes game has only 1 single level, since it is intended to be just a demo version.

I have too say for only 8 hours of work this is great and i personally would love too see it expanded upon and becoming a full fledged game. My only complaints are just like the other commenter mentioned which is that the attack range is very small and i think some form of sound or music would really add too the game but i understand that making SFX can be tedious and you had a lot less time then the rest of us so yeah. 4/5 would love if it was expanded upon in the future and made into a full fledged short game.

efeckk2 2021-04-27 20:56

@jim-jagers Thanks for your feedback! I'll try to work on the game to see the game is growing, becoming a series of games in the future as you mentioned. I'll also try to learn and make some music and put some SFX to give it a bit of life.

Os X version "can't be opened". It's a common issue for OSX builds made on windows, try googling it. If you'll make an update, tag me and I'll probably test it

efeckk2 2021-04-30 18:34

@ariorick Thanks for telling me about that! I will be building a proper macOS version. Along with that, I will also fix some bugs in the game. I will let you know when it is done.

paulloz 2021-04-30 21:10

Cool graphics! A bit of a shame there isn't any more levels, and you didn't have much time to tweak the hitboxes properly. For now it's barely playable because you can't hit anybody without taking damage but once it's handled you could make a kickass dungeon crawler. Keep moving on!

efeckk2 2021-04-30 21:15

@paulloz Thanks! I'll try to fix those and maybe make even more levels soon after the jam.

efeckk2 2021-04-30 23:19

Hey @ariorick ! I have just published a macOS version. I guess it should be fine now. There is also a WebGL build that you can play. Please let me know if you still encounter the same issue. I hope it's worth your play.

efeckk2 2021-04-30 23:30

For all that will play or played the game already, I have fixed some bugs and uploaded a WebGL build. Don't worry, those are not that big changes.

You can see the rules here if you wonder. ( https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/rules )

"Certain Bug Fixes are allowed. You can’t add new features, but if something broke or didn’t work correctly as you were finishing up, you can fix this after the deadline."

You can still consider those while rating and judging my game, I definitely don't have any problem with that. But if you want to see the changes, here is a link to development log on my itch.io page.

Here is a link to the video archive of our playtest on stream yesterday: https://www.youtube.be/watch?v=IQdJ_KaE1bI&t=4380s

Thanks for being there!

This is an impressive entry for just an 8 hour jam! My only improvement would be to improve a bit the attack animation, make it more obvious.

Congratulations!

efeckk2 2021-05-01 15:17

@togis Thanks for playing and commenting! I'll be more careful about the animation next time.

lees-pac 2021-05-02 00:40

this game was cute there wasent much to it but im happy with what was there i wish the attack animation was more accurate to the hit box/ was bigger

efeckk2 2021-05-02 00:48

@lees-pac Thanks for the feedback!

dpmzi 2021-05-02 09:43

I like the art direction. The low contrast makes things a bit hard to make out, though.

Couldn't make it down the second stairs. I think I need to get enough kills to go down, but the lack of feedback when hitting makes it hard to know what I'm doing right when fighting enemies.

I understand you were under an extremely tight deadline, so I would definitely consider this a success!

his-games 2021-05-02 17:24

I really like the artstyle of this game, the animations are good and the different parts are distinctive. The dungeon format is good, and it's an interesting way of making multi-room dungeons. Would have loved a minimap, as I sometimes got lost!

vixenmink 2021-05-06 00:33

Game isnt working on my end but I really like the concept

s1lv3r-dr4g0n-games 2021-05-06 05:41

All the pixel art is great! It's a shame you couldn't get more done but what you do have is pretty polished. Also I do believe I'm your 20th rating so congratulations!

recher 2021-05-06 19:54

Nice game, I was expecting some tricks about the fact that the developer is away. Something like bugs made on purpose, that you would have to exploit to advance in the game. But it seems there is no such thing. I must admit I was a bit disappointed.

I liked the sprite to change room. It totally assumes that you didn't have time to draw a real door or teleporter.

efeckk2 2021-05-06 22:05

@dpmzi I will be working on animations and particle system. There was only one level by the way :)

@his-games Minimap is a great idea!

@s1lv3r-dr4g0n-games Cool! It is great to see there are over 20 ratings!

@recher I didn't have much time to make a game for this jam, and that's why I made and called this game so. But that's indeed a great idea, since the developer is away, bugs are inevitable. I would like to see bugs in my game as well :)

Thank you all for playing, rating and commenting! That means a lot to me! Keeping this one as jam edition, I really want to release a full version. Your feedbacks will help me a lot. I will definitely be considering all of those. <3

efeckk2 2021-05-06 22:09

@vixenmink Thank you. Is there any error or something? I can try to fix it.

vixenmink 2021-05-07 02:13

@efeckk2 My rig has issues running some of these other LD games so since other people have been getting theirs to work, it's most likely something broken on my end. Unity just won't load in firefox or chrome

efeckk2 2021-05-07 18:50

@vixenmink I see. Hope you find a solution.

100th-coin 2021-05-08 17:56

It's a shame the game is as small as it is, but I like the premise so far. The skeleton looks pretty great, by the way.

You may have noticed that many companies have their own websites that make it easier for customers to contact the company for services. I also decided to create a website for my company and for that I found this site [Evacodes](https://evacodes.com/) to get software development. They helped me create the website quickly and efficiently and now it is easier for my clients to order services from me.
