@mitosis and thats the point! glad to hear it made you smile :)
Your art got me to play your game. Especially that cute bag! :)
Overall, it was pretty good!
There could be some variety of foods tho. I was expecting to fry some potatoes. :)
And I don't know if that was intended but the fill gets too fast while sometimes too slow and easier.
Also having an android build of the game was a big plus!
Good job!
Cool submission! Well polished. Art was pretty good and that monkey was really cute. Music was compatible with the game with those monkey sounds. Level design was also really nice.
But it wasn't happy ending for me,
sadmonke.PNG
died before the last monkey. It would be great if there was a checkpoint.
I also could see out of the map. seeout.PNG There could be tiles as well.
Since it was under a cave, it was pretty cool idea not to see the entire map. Instead, being dark and having a limited eyesight had added a lot to the game and made exploration even more fun! Great work!
Didn't really expect to see a game made with PICO-8. I love this kind of minimalistic pixel art style. It was definitely a plus to have different colors. You could use another sound effect for the rocks. My highscore is 219. Good job!
Pretty cool game with nice music! Those slabs are not standing out when they are white tho. Great job!
Pretty fun game! I'll definitelly get back and play some more :)
As for constructive feedback I think there could be some more fish variety and gets a little bit repetitive by time.
Great! Art and music are really cool. Music is a bit repetitive tho. It is easy at the beginning and gets harder as the sword gets longer.

At this point it got pretty frustrating to be honest. I kept pressing R reflexively. And I think I got addicted a bit.

Here is how long I've been addicted..
Congrats!
Didn't really like making coffee for my boss, since there is no tea for me :D
Jokes aside, it was pretty good. My only complaint is about the way you get input from keyboard. I never thought it could happen since I change the language settings on *my pc* and the game is getting input from *my keyboard.* I even checked the language settings once. However, this issue did not affect the gameplay that much for me as I am using a Q Keyboard.
There were several types of tasks so I really had fun playing it. Congrats!
It is a bit hard to control, and since the music, bullets and visuals giving the feeling of a *fast* game, it could be faster. It would be more fun that way in my opinion. Cool idea, but you could implement the theme in another way. Music and graphics were pretty good. 3rd depth level seem like it doesn't have much to do. Maybe a tutorial would help understanding the game mechanics well. Congrats!
Great idea for the theme. But at the first time to play I couldn't really get the way to play this to be honest, only that I knew was that we cut deeper to kill the enemy. Which one was the player at first? Or was it a game to play with a friend? Other than that with music, art and that innovative idea you had with this game were pretty cool. Good job!
I love the graphics of this game. Animations, effects were pretty good. Music is giving the same vibe as the game, so it's great. It was pretty fun, I would like to see more levels. Level design was also pretty good in my opinion.
My only complaint about this game is that it felt a bit strange to control the ground pound feature with right mouse button. Instead of mouse input, that could be any other key on the keyboard.
Loved that cute little bunny! ♥ Cool art.
48 hours and a game like this.. I appreciate your great work mate! Fantastic!
It was pretty easy, skeletons didn't seem like they could kill me. Could be harder. Nice visuals. Congrats!
Thought my neighbor upstairs was making noise. I took off my headset to understand what was going on. It got silent. I put on my headset back, that noise again. Took off my headset once again and realized it was from the game. Cool music!
Art, the narrative at the beginning were all cool. Gameplay was fun but there could be more levels. Would be better if the levels were procedurally generated tho. That's all I can say. Good job!
I can agree with @kuro. And it was a bit hard for me. But I guess I did it! ididit.PNG
Game didn't finish tho..
With only 1 level, the game had a lot of variety like being dark in the deepest part, having various enemies etc.
Good job!
@marcenat Thanks for your feedback and for playing. Since I had a small amount of time, I didn't have much time to deal with some issues you already mentioned like attack range. But the game actually did not crash, the paper is supposed to start a dialogue telling you "Thanks for playing. Developer" :) I also noticed that, but for time reason, couldn't fix that. And yes game has only 1 single level, since it is intended to be just a demo version.
@jim-jagers Thanks for your feedback! I'll try to work on the game to see the game is growing, becoming a series of games in the future as you mentioned. I'll also try to learn and make some music and put some SFX to give it a bit of life.
@ariorick Thanks for telling me about that! I will be building a proper macOS version. Along with that, I will also fix some bugs in the game. I will let you know when it is done.
@paulloz Thanks! I'll try to fix those and maybe make even more levels soon after the jam.
Hey @ariorick ! I have just published a macOS version. I guess it should be fine now. There is also a WebGL build that you can play. Please let me know if you still encounter the same issue. I hope it's worth your play.
For all that will play or played the game already, I have fixed some bugs and uploaded a WebGL build. Don't worry, those are not that big changes.
You can see the rules here if you wonder. ( https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/rules )
"Certain Bug Fixes are allowed. You can’t add new features, but if something broke or didn’t work correctly as you were finishing up, you can fix this after the deadline."
You can still consider those while rating and judging my game, I definitely don't have any problem with that. But if you want to see the changes, here is a link to development log on my itch.io page.

@togis Thanks for playing and commenting! I'll be more careful about the animation next time.
@lees-pac Thanks for the feedback!
@dpmzi I will be working on animations and particle system. There was only one level by the way :)
@his-games Minimap is a great idea!
@s1lv3r-dr4g0n-games Cool! It is great to see there are over 20 ratings!
@recher I didn't have much time to make a game for this jam, and that's why I made and called this game so. But that's indeed a great idea, since the developer is away, bugs are inevitable. I would like to see bugs in my game as well :)
Thank you all for playing, rating and commenting! That means a lot to me! Keeping this one as jam edition, I really want to release a full version. Your feedbacks will help me a lot. I will definitely be considering all of those. <3
@vixenmink Thank you. Is there any error or something? I can try to fix it.
@vixenmink I see. Hope you find a solution.
I wouldn't believe there could be a game about roots and be this fun. Incredible submission!
Love this kind of games! Art and music was pretty good. There could be various maps to play tho. Good job!
I don't know how it matches the theme. Pretty good tho! Loved the music and it was fun to play. My score was 48000.

Well done!
