When I thought I've cleared all the terrorists then ... level two! Great effort, a lot of design. I noticed one small glitch perhaps (in the web version) is that normally the gun fires quite slowly (1 per second or so) but at some point it started firing twice as fast, then going back to slow shortly later (I'd prefer for an automatic gun and just go into slayer mode). Or was it some kind of power up? Good fun, some climatic music would be a great addition!

I like the spotlight effect with the shadows! Maybe you could randomize the pitch of the shooting sound everytime you shoot, now it sounds kinda repetitive.

Would be cool to auto-shoot on holdinng mouse key and at least some enemy movement. Good work nonetheless

I think it's better to aim for a shorter but polished experience when making a jam game
those noises are hilarious. i enjoyed it, good work dude

This game is quite well made, I think. At first, I killed every guard and tried to not get hit but after a while, I just went straight through to the briefcases. The only thing that I did not like was that there was not much of an incentive to kill guards who have seen you, because you could just run away and let them shoot the wall. The sound does not get any quieter as you move away, so that might be the incentive to kill them ;)
Overall, a quite fun game with a fairly big map for a game jam.
This was a really cool game, I had fun playing this game. Great level design, I loved the hidden rooms and power-ups, the difficulty was well balanced, easier in the first levels and hard last level. I would suggest you to enable the fullscreen mode in itch.io because the default window is quite small.
Some Max Payne vibes from this game. Looks great, but too slow for action game.
Made me think about early 2000s 2d shooters, even of CS 2D
Apart from a few small things, like the enemies keeping shooting after you walked away very far, this is very fun! It reminds me a lot of a similar game, quite old. I can't remember the name now but it's very fun as well! Amazing that you did this all by yourself.

@mausimus Web build doesn't work too well, you may have encountered some bugs because of framerate (I probably forgot to make code less dependent on fps) or maybe the pickup bugged, because every level you start with slow pistol but at start of lvl 2 and 3 there should be better weapon at start. Thanks for playing.
@hilkojj Thanks for suggestion. I didn't know how to make gun sounds from scratch and that's why the quality is bad and not pleasant to listen to.
@ariorick Hehe, well I did exactly the opposite this year, and I see now, that it wasn't great decision.
@northerndonut Thanks! I made pain/death sound with my own voice, one sound took inspiration from Doom and other from WoW.
@mosaic Thanks, I'm glad to hear that, and I totally understand problem with sound. That's 100% my mistake. Now when I think about it, I could have made it dependent on player's position, but my mind wasn't really cooperative during these 48H.
@axeltherabbit Thank you. I acutally intentionally removed fullscreen button, because textures didn't look too well imo, but that could be also mistake.
@azakharov Excellent, that probably means you completed game. I wanted to make it even more similar to Max Payne, but this gamejam slowly drove me into madness because of bugs etc... and well at the end there's only famous quote.
@anthonyharmitage Yeah, nice to hear my game resembles them. There was a lot of good 2d shooter games back then, now forgotten. One of my favourites was Alien Shooter (2003)
@sinusquell Many thanks, I was almost sure I won't make all of that, but I somehow forced myself. Ultimately, my game is quite big for compo, but has some bugs and is definately unpolished. I hope you can one day, find that similar game you played.
That was a blast! (pun intended) I really enjoyed this a lot, so thank you for making it. I thought about doing a top down game but since I'm horrible with art I couldn't get the character to look right  You on the other hand it a great job with the art and the sounds! The game had good pacing and the levels were laid out very well.

Loved the cutscenes. I thought the game was quite boring... until I found the machineguns. Then it was fun :) Should have probably had that from the start not to turn away the players. Nice ending. Still not sure what the other items were other than health and guns.

I tried on chrome on mac os, and it quickly became sluggish...
I liked the art, it's quite clear from above what is what. SFX are fun! Level design are nice.
It felt a bit too boring at first, I killed some baddies that where just shooting at the wall not trying to get a clear view. It felt like shooting ducks.

Fun game! I got the groups of guys to kill each other because they track the player though walls. Get them shooting, walk out of the room and around. they keep shooting and will kill each other. The weapon upgrades are nice. I got stuck on the dark level because I couldn't see anything. The loading screen said I picked up night vision, but it was just dark on my screen.
Lol, at some point I started pushing a thing wondering wtf was that. Then some loud shot sfx started to repeat and blood started to appear on the ground. One minute later, I realized that thing was a foe. Anyway, I like stealth games and the effort to code one. But it could use better graphics and AI.

Visuals were well done, definitely added to the mood. I like the map, it's nicely thought out. I'd prefer if the bullets were more visible.
