Mechanics of the game worked well, the thing i would suggest is that i found myself sitting at the beginning just staring at the game with no way to make my influence go up quicker. If there was some way i could increase my influence so i could unlock zones a bit faster then i would of enjoyed the game more.

I totally agree with @rob-parker . The game is easy to understand and i thought that i could do a lot directly from the start, but i found my self sitting there and watching a number go up. That took "speed" out of the game unfortunatly. Crank up the speed a bit ;) oh and while you're at it: maybe you could add the possibility to have a choice what to buy whit your chits, because buying one after another is just a button that you can click. Audio, graphics and mechanics worked well togehter though and it was totally bug-free which is allways a big plus!
@rob-parker and @wujood. Thanks for the input. It turns out that you guys found a game breaking bug, it's fixed and working at a better speed now (if not too fast). Thanks again!
I have mixed feelings about idle games in general, but this one was well executed and I saw it through to the end. I don't really see this as an interpretation of the theme, but I dug it nonetheless.
@geraldfingburke thanks for playing. Yeah it's a VERY loose interpretation of the theme, the people have already run out of space... to be free, and now you are making the corporation run out of space... to have control. Thanks for your kind words!
Wish it wasn't so slow :/

I really liked the concept of the game, and especially the graphics, but it lacked conflict for me, the corporation fighting back. Otherwise it was fun to play through!
@levlaj a back and forth system was part of the plan but I ran out of space... er time.

@boyturnedrobot OK, I thought so, and I understand, jam's time limits. I honestly believe if you added it, maybe improved a bit on the items and the progression it could be a great game!
I love the idea. Game mechanics is very well made! Great job :dog:

good base for a strategic minigame with decent theme idea and clear rules of expansion.
Feedback: - game kinda plays itself, lacks of events, cpu competition or anything that requires player reaction. Maybe some things should be more manual, like distribution or taking over the area. - Remember Deadlock game? i would love to see some more detail of whats going on inside of every district and micromanage there. - no selected states for areas or 'purchased' state for upgrades. - your itch demo page is not entirely visible on 16:10 screens (bottom of the window) - numbers get into scientific format Screen Shot 2018-08-19 at 13.58.25.png
@titos2k thanks for the detailed feedback. I actually had a great time making this game, and it's honestly the most "complex" game I've made so far since I'm still new to all of this. From the feedback I've gotten here and some other places, I think I'm going to continue making this game outside of the jam to see what I can make. Some of my ideas didn't make it into the game because of time and some things I just missed because I was too close to the game I guess. Thanks again for your thoughts and thanks for playing!
Nice work! Excellent foundation to expand on. As other reviewers have stated, as well as you, additional features that you weren't able to fit in before the deadline would add a lot to the game.
For what's there, I really liked the industrial sounding music, it went perfect with the game and really set the mood. The interface and design is nice too. I love the use of vhs and cassette tapes for Nostalgia items.
@redhermit I'm glad you enjoyed it, thank you for the feedback and thanks for playing!
Hey, nice game, but as @titos2k said, the game plays itself really. You should have some sort of obstacles to the player's progression. For example, the corporation you try to take down should fight back by influencing back the peoples on the street. Why not adding some sort of police that you can bride regularly to allow your business, if you don't, they might clean a district back to neutral. Anyway I enjoyed playing your game. Good job.
